@dragonette505 @tamalahoops omg I hadn't pooed before my retrieval bc no coffee etc. And I even told the nurse beforehand, I was worried I might have to poo! Lol. She was like, no, don't worry, you'll be fine lol. The things going through our minds in the treatment room!
Update from the ER...only got 1 egg but got the call today that they were able to fertilize it. Will wait to see if it makes it to Day 3 to freeze. At this point I'll be actively starting the donor egg process. I just don't believe I'm ever going to get eggs that will be the quality to implant and I'm sort of over going through the stimming process.
@madspunk it took 11 days and my usual LP is 12 days so really not that long, I was just impatient. I also had cramping on and off for days before it started which is unusual for me so I was anxious to get it over with already.
@leekat14 I'm so happy that one fertilized. Is the plan only for a frozen transfer or would you consider a fresh transfer as well?
@leekat14 you're still moving in the right direction though. I am so happy your egg fertilized. IF takes us to places we didn't know we would be going. That's for sure.
@BusinessWife@tamalahoops@dragonette505 When I had my ER, I asked the nurse if people fart during the procedure and he said "sometimes..." but acted like it was a crazy question. I thought it was totally legitimate.

Hey all! I need to come back to respond to everyone but I just wanted to give a quick update:
I had my surgery today and they found endometriosis! Just a tiny bit but it was there. The RE removed it and some scar tissue from my *TW previous c-section end TW*. Also she said that my left Fallopian tube only has two fimbrae (the little fingerlike projections that grab the egg) but the right one has the normal amount so basically it's harder for me to get pregnant when the left one drops the egg. She said we'll discuss our new options when I go for my follow up on October 5. I'm home now, it took forever after surgery because I was throwing up from the anesthesia and then they wanted to wait for me to pee before they would let me leave so it's just been a really long day. I'm resting on the sofa for the next few days so I'll try to catch up with everyone! Thank you all for the kind words and thoughts!

I just stopped by the RE's office to turn in our mountain of paperwork and they said we actually managed to get everything in! I feel like I should get a trophy for being able to manage this, since even the nurses seemed impressed with our organization. My Bump ladies help me step up my game
@shortstack930 I hope you are able to get some good rest after all of that. It sounds exhausting, but I'm glad they were able to provide you with more information as a result of the surgery.

@BusinessWife glad to hear that! What was the workplace issue last time? So many follies!! Is the max number of follies a person can produce their AFC count? I never understood that or if the AFC changes. Hoping for lots of great quality embies!!
AFM period finally came today but on a good note my LP was 15 days long, longest I've ever had. So I'm reading ISWTE and a friend gave me "woman code" to also read so I figured wth mine as well. Spoke to my nurse I'm gonna start coqu10 and DHEA. I also asked her about acupuncture referrals. For those of you doing/have done acupuncture how often does one go? Once a week a few times a week? Don't know much about it at all.
@beachbunnyxo123 I stopped acupuncture since clearly it didn't help me get KU, but I plan to re-start if/when we get to IVF. I went once a week, twice around ovulation if I could
Hi gang! We just got back from vacation last night and I'm trying to catch up on life.
@leekat14 congrats on the little egg that could. I'm hoping this is all they need but if you want to talk about DE IVF please reach out.
AFM: My donor goes in for her medical screening tomorrow and while we wait for those results we will start working on legal stuff. Everything is still on schedule.

@BusinessWife YAY!!! That is awesome news. I hope everything goes perfectly for a Sunday retrieval! @beachbunnyxo123 That book is so helpful and it sounds like you have a good plan based on the information in there. I was getting acupuncture twice a month, but it wasn't specifically for fertility issues. I'm plan to have acupuncture before/after the FET, though, since it has shown promising results with IVF. @laurad75 We're doing all the legal stuff for our donor, too. (So much paperwork!) @leekat14 So much finger crossing and praying for your embaby that could. I hope one is all you need!!
@shortstack930 I hope the surgery got everything and that you recover quickly.
@beachbunnyxo123 I go to acupuncture once a week. It gets very spendy, but I find it worth it if only because it gives me an emotional reset each week. It's also very relaxing, and gives me the perfect time to listen to my hypnosis on Audible!
@50Wife Looks like we're almost cycle buddies...I'm one day ahead of you. And I've also had 2 failed IUIs. Here's to hoping third time is a charm for both of us!!
@adirat I'm super excited that you've started stimming and are doing well with the injections.
AFM:
Diagnosis: DOR, AMA
Cycle/CD: 25 (19 AL)/CD6
Status: WTO
What are you doing this cycle: Back to IUI with OH's frozen swimmers. I'm getting Arvigo massage for the second time, and doing acupuncture and all the supplements.
How's it going: I'm still feeling some level of meh after my somewhat rough last cycle. But this past weekend I was in my hometown and got a reminder of what's important. **TW emotional story of baptism and cancer**
My sister and BIL decided to baptize my nephew at the last minute this past weekend. My nephew's godfather, who is only 33, was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer, and they wanted to do it before he started treatment this week. So I attended alone because my MIL is still in town helping my SIL with her new baby and spent the weekend at our house with OH and DSS. It was great to spend time with my family, and it was still a somewhat celebratory event. But it was rough knowing how much pain the godfather was in, and I'm just heartbroken for his wife and two young daughters. They have become friends to our whole family, and we're all just gutted.
But I have to say, it gave me very little time to feel sorry for myself even with the presence of AF. I'm not minimizing my situation, but seeing this makes me the all more grateful for my little family, even if I feel it's not complete. And I can concentrate on the fact that we're not done yet. And neither is he. He is fighting.
**End TW**
If you made it this far, you deserve a cute gif. Here is a cat eating an annoyed banana:
Oh, one great thing is that I had my longest LP since I've been tracking, 16 days! I started using my progesterone pills as vaginal suppositories, and it really worked! I took the last one on the night of 13DPO, and it still took my body that long for AF. When I take them orally, I can't make it past 13DPO even though I'm still taking them. Questions: Nope
GTKY: A friend posted a video of a girl on You Tube talking about eating ass, with this guy who added video commentary. It's so very NSFW, but Google and ye shall find. Just beware, it is hilarious but disgusting (it's all talk...there isn't anything visually graphic).
Me: 45 OH: 42 Beloved SS: born 12/2011 TTC my bio #1/our #2 since January 2016 **TW** June 2016 had CP **end TW** August 2016 - dx with DOR Somewhere in here received recommendation to do IVF with donor eggs, elected not to; OH dx with Low T May 2017 - began freezing sperm June 2017 - OH began treatment for Low T July 2017 - began doing 1 IUI via a midwife and 1 at home insemination each cycle http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/6259ba July 2018 - exhausted frozen sperm, officially NTNP since OH is probably shooting blanks
@BusinessWife - Hooray follies!!! That's awesome best wishes for an excellent egg retrieval.
@beachbunnyxo123 - I did acupuncture with a couple IUI cycles but the real benefits, from my understanding, come from doing it in conjunction with IVF. My RE practice partners with a fertility acupuncturist and he was really nice. I'd go back to him for an IVF acupuncture regimen. I had a really nice relaxing massage the day before my successful IUI. I'd definitely do that again too.
So I got an email from my nurse in anticipation of my IUI next cycle (isn't it sad that I'm like, just get this cycle over with so I move on instead of, I hope this cycle works! Ugh.) and she said that my injectables will be Gonal-F. Tips, tricks, advice, side effects?
TBH I'm a bit nervous re: Clomid and Gonal-F. I've never taken these drugs before, and I will be starting them the week I have a pretty big work event. Am I crazy? Part of me thinks I should postpone another month just to be safe (in case I turn into a raging lunatic on these meds) but part of me is like, I just want to get the show on the road. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!
@RVAmom515 I didn't have any experience with Clomid, but I really have felt fine emotionally on the follistim. I have definitely been a bit emotional, but that's skip on away higher extended dose, plus low dose hcg, but everyones experience is different. You may not tolerate it well, or you may be totally fine! ;)
@beachbunnyxo123 I had to call out sick with two days notice and not a great explanation.... we have a small team, so any time someone calls out, we are scrambling.
@Hollyyyyy thanks! I'm pretty sore today and spent half the day in bed but the pain meds are helping. I'm not the type of person who accepts help easily so I need to remind myself that I can't push myself and need to ask DH and my mom for help when I need it. @laurad75 glad everything is on track still!! @Aurora1973 I'm so sorry to hear about your family friend. Things like that really can put everything in perspective. I hope his treatment is able to help him. @RVAmom315 did the RE say why they're doing injectables right away? When I did Clomid that was my only med other than the trigger shot. Just curious. But with the Clomid, I would say I didn't start feeling the side effects until a week or so after I took it. And the first month wasn't too bad, the effects got worse each month I took it.

@RVAmom315 I've never been on clomid and I took gonalF with Menopur. I guess with these meds everyone reacts differently. Everyone including my nurse made me think I would be ready to kill someone while in these meds but it ended up being nbd. I had bloating, some ovary pain and I felt more tired than usual.
@rvamom315 I've had terrible headaches on Follistim+Menopur -- I don't know which one causes the headaches so it may not affect you, but just a word to the wise! Most people seem not to have much reaction, though. Good luck!
@beachbunnyxo123 I find acupuncture helpful to reduce my anxiety during IVF. My RE said that the meta-analyses done on acupuncture+IVF show limited results, with the exception of acupuncture the day of an embryo transfer, which has really positive impacts. So I think it's worth doing but if you can't afford it, don't like it, etc., it isn't a dealbreaker.
@aurora1973 How tragic, I'm so sorry to read that. Hugs to all of you
@shortstack930 Glad your surgery went okay! It sounds like you found some potential or contributory causes to the secondary IF. Do you have any ideas what the next steps will be, or are you just waiting for the consult at this point?
@beachbunnyxo123 I did acupuncture for a few months, but I was pretty sporadic about it. I think 1-2 times a week is good, but there are specific days they recommend, like around ovulation is a good time to go. The acupuncture treatment is a little different depending on where you are in your cycle. I found acupuncture very relaxing, and I only stopped going because I had to pay OOP and all these fertility expenses are adding up. @wishiwaspreggo, I treat myself to massages when I'm having a really bad/stressful week, and I think I might take a page from your book and get a massage the day before my next IUI if I do an IUI next.
@Aurora1973 Sorry to hear about your family friend. It's good that he got to celebrate the baptism with you all while he is still feeling well. Stories like that do put things into perspective. There's a lot to be grateful for, even when times are tough. Oh, and cat memes/gifs/pretty-much-anything are my favorite.
@RVAmom315 I have never been on Clomid, but Gonal-F gives me almost no side effects. Once in a while I'll get a headache, but it's not that bad. And the bloating, I forgot about the bloating. I don't think your crazy for starting the meds at the same time as the big work event. Unfortunately, the timing of all of this never seems to quite work out perfectly.
@adirat. Not sure if this applies in your case, but I found the days I had bad headaches were from my level of caffeine restriction. To where I mentioned it to my local pharmacist and she was the one who hit the nail on the head! I have not been as restrictive with the coffee this time and really, no headaches. Not sure if you had already cut out caffeine tho, maybe that's not what's going on in your case :/ ((((hugs))))
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?). TW, I recently miscarried and found out it was a molar pregnancy, so I am benched and having weekly HCG checks for now. End TW
How are things going? Ok. I hate being benched, but I am trying to see the silver lining that it gives me a chance to get into better physical shape.
Any questions? Does anyone else get yeast infections with clomid? I did the two cycles I took it and I wasn't sure if it was simply a coincidence. I was also on antibiotics the first cycle. And if it is not a coincidence, any suggestions on how to avoid it?
@RVAmom315 , clomid makes me snappy with people. But, if I am being honest, I am a bit grouchy to begin with. I also felt like I had every side effect. My vision was intermittently blurred and I had headaches and nausea.
@Aurora1973 , I am sorry to hear about your friend. That's awful, and he is so young!
@businesswife Thanks for suggesting, but that isn't it. I tapered my caffeine down quite a bit over the last couple months and I'm still having green tea every day. In fact I tried having a black tea when my headache was worst but no luck My mom thinks it's hormonal. (TW) One of my first symptoms when I was pregnant was a terrible headache that slowly went away as my body got used to the hormones. I think I might just have a sensitive head or something.
@holly321 Again I'm so sorry to see you back here How long are you benched? I get yeast infections with estrogen and bcp, and I've had a lot of luck with eating yogurt and taking little half-shots of apple cider vinegar once per day (believe it or not my gynecologist recommended the apple cider vinegar to me).
@adirat, thank you. I am benched until I have a month of no HCG. My doctor was optimistic that it could be as soon as a month for the HCG to be gone since it is dropping so well already. And I will definitely try the apple cider vinegar, thanks for the suggestion. I will probably do yogurt too. I started taking probiotics, but can't remember if I was taking them when I was last using clomid
@madspunk I'm not sure about next steps yet, pretty much just waiting for the consult but I'm wondering if she's going to suggest we try on our own for a few cycles.

@leekat14 congrats on the little egg that could. I'm hoping this is all they need but if you want to talk about DE IVF please reach out.
AFM: My donor goes in for her medical screening tomorrow and while we wait for those results we will start working on legal stuff. Everything is still on schedule.

(So much paperwork!) I hope you had a good vacation!

@BusinessWife
@laurad75 Welcome back! So glad everything is still on schedule with your donor, and FX your screening goes well!
@beachbunnyxo123 Glad AF finally came! I'm curious to try acupuncture as well!
@laurad75 and @AlohaKumu that's so exciting that you are both making headway with your donors!!
@BusinessWife Wow, that's a lot of follies!! Yay!!
@leekat14 So much finger crossing and praying for your embaby that could.

**TW** June 2016 had CP **end TW**
August 2016 - dx with DOR
Somewhere in here received recommendation to do IVF with donor eggs, elected not to; OH dx with Low T
May 2017 - began freezing sperm
June 2017 - OH began treatment for Low T
July 2017 - began doing 1 IUI via a midwife and 1 at home insemination each cycle

July 2018 - exhausted frozen sperm, officially NTNP since OH is probably shooting blanks
Thanks!

Hugs to all of you
@beachbunnyxo123 I did acupuncture for a few months, but I was pretty sporadic about it.
Cycle/CD: cycle 5 or 6/ cd?
@holly321 Again I'm so sorry to see you back here
