Did we talk about strollers somewhere before?I feel like we did but I cannot remember. I would love a thread just about what strollers people have or registered for, but I don't want to make such a specific thread, haha.

The crib AND the pack n play arrived today! I cant move them off the porch because they're too heavy-- but they're here! I keep hoping a male neighbor will come by walking a dog or something and I can flag them down to help
@ktcakes87 I got the Uppababy Vista (+ Mesa for carseat). They were/are my big splurge (and I knew literally every single person in our families would balk at spending that much), and went ahead and ordered because I was afraid they would run out of the color we wanted.
Now I'm not 100% it was the right choice, but it's cute and we have it so whatever

@ktcakes87 We got a city select (previous year in an less popular color) and we'll get an adapter for our chicco keyfit 30 carseat. I was hesitant to spend that much on a stroller, but we've taken it on some practice walks and it can totally handle our crappy pavement and constant potholes. We were also considering the chicco bravo travel system (same carseat), but decided to splurge for the city select when we found it marked down.
I want to get a Bob Revolution Flex jogger stroller, but I'm going to wait to see if there is a good sale around the holidays since I don't need it right away. In the meantime, my neighbor has one of those basic platform strollers you can strap most infant seats onto, and she said if it works with my infant car seat I can have it.
In other news, I must be feeling much more energetic this week because I just committed to hosting a girls night in a couple weeks. WHAAA??
guys i signed up for a water walking class and my first one is tonight. am i going to be the only young person there? i need it because my daily walking on the treadmill is really starting to take a toll on my joints and pelvic floor but this girl has got to get some exercise. is it weird that i'm nervous? LOL! i have no idea what to expect.

@anewadventure I am in a prenatal water aerobics class, but I am usually the only preggo one there--the rest are older ladies (probably 60s and 70s). They're all very sweet, though!
Married May 2014 DD born August 2016 Baby #2 due December 2017
@cait5413 it was a challenge just to find a stinkin' class to sign up for! they offer 10000 of them but they are all in the middle of the day, because why would someone that works 9-5 want to do water aerobics / deep water fitness / water anything / ANYTHING AT ALL?? i basically picked this one because it was the only one offered in the evenings. i don't mind getting up ass-early, either, but that's all taken up with swim team practices and lap swimming.
i have this problem a lot in my area, all the cool classes and toddler things are during the weekdays in the middle of the day

@anewadventure Ooooh I wish I could find one! I feel your pain too. How is it 2017 and the general societal consensus is Mom = Not Working = Wants To Do Stuff At 11 AM????
I was ultra pumped for the prenatal yoga class I registered for through the hospital wellness center but they called yesterday to say it got cancelled due to low interest.
@elcd458 Not sure if you're into home workouts, but I just discovered last night that there are prenatal yoga videos available through Amazon Prime Video if you have it. I'm thinking I might give one a try this weekend.
@anewadventure I don't often post, even though I really should since you are all such a great source of knowledge, but I couldn't help myself when I saw your post. I have been taking a prenatal aqua aerobics course for over 6 weeks now and I love it. I plan to continue until my DD. Mine happens to be with about 10-15 other pregnant women, which is super fun, but honestly I wouldn't care if I was the only person or the youngest. The water feels so nice and I feel so much lighter. The only terrible part is getting out and feeling super heavy. I hope you enjoy it!
I really wanted to do more swimming during pregnancy but the deck (if that's what you call it - like the whole area around all the pools) at our rec center is so so slippery. I can barely walk on it not pregnant; I'm scared to try when I have extra, unbalanced weight on me!
I just finished a 10-week prenatal yoga class and it was great (very relaxing, not too vigorous, lots of nice stretches), but I have to say I am so relieved to have a Thursday night free again! I'll probably go back when it starts up again in October, and will check out the Amazon videos between now and then (thanks @leilagphillips!)

Man I wish I could find prenatal yoga in my area!!! They're all like the most super intense yoga possible! I think I might look into water aerobics at my local rec center though, i hadnt thought of that and i love water!
I've been trying so hard to keep up with prenatal yoga, but life just gets in the way sometimes!
Sorry I've been MIA. I've been in the office a lot (which makes it hard to Bump) and life has just been super busy!
Late to the discussion, but we went with the City Mini stroller. We'll get the adaptor to use it with our car seat. I really liked how easy it was to fold and unfold.

@asiegel thanks! it was fun! i was definitely the youngest and the only pregnant one but the average age was 40s or so. it was actually a pretty intense workout so i'm not surprised at the age group. H20 Walking was a misnomer, lol!

We had our first prospective daycare tour today. I was more impressed than I thought I'd be, but when I got home I saw that someone had left a nasty review of the place online just a couple of weeks ago, so now I'm torn. Like, I know reviews are skewed heavily towards extremely positive or extremely negative opinions when reality is usually in the middle somewhere, but will I feel guilty if I ignore this person's comments and something happens to my child?! I guess we'll have to wait and see how much better/worse I feel about the others we visit! Ugh, I hate this part!

Keep visiting others and you'll get a better idea to compare! We liked the first one we went to because we didn't have anything to compare with... Once you see a few you know more what to look for. Take reviews with a grain of salt, but take tours with a grain of salt as well. We had an amazing tour and thought we found the perfect spot, and we pulled my daughter within a month. It was a nightmare. It was totally deceiving and I have tried to leave reviews everywhere to make sure people know what to expect.
We saw "It" last night and there were two small children in the theater! I'm guessing they were no older than 8 (they were not together). No judgment towards the parents, I was just super impressed there was no screaming or crying. When we walked out at the end, one of the kids was behind us and he was just matter-of-factly saying things like "when his arm was ripped off" and, "I didn't know XYZ happened." Like, did you read the book, small child? Watch the old miniseries? Why would you know stuff that was going to happen, you little badass? Lol.
@MJDsquared My dad took me to see Jurassic Park when I was 6, but "It" seems like a bit much... hahaha
@tamaraaaa Thank you for the advice! We have lots of choices, technically, but this area is also VERY residential with gobs and gobs of working parents so the wait lists at all of them are huge. We always went to church daycare growing up, but all the ones locally are only half-day (what is the point?) and MIL has had health problems recently that make me too concerned to have her take the kiddo for a couple hours a few days a week if we went that route. Meh.
Four or five years ago, when we first decided we were ready to start hoping/trying for a LO, I bought some art from a friend who was selling off her practice paintings to try and make ends meet while she was ill. DH and I agreed that they were "for the nursery" when we one day had a nursery. We thought we meant later that year, or maybe the next one. In the intervening years, the artist friend passed away and I've considered hanging the paintings in other rooms to other purposes or even giving them away (but they were always so firmly "for the nursery" to me that I never did). Today I finally framed the "for the nursery" art, so that it will be ready to hang once we get the room transitioned over. It's bright primary colors and one has hidden words about intent and being one's best self, so it's not the usual baby animals & calming colors sort of baby art but I am so grateful and humbled that we finally get to celebrate our incoming kid with some of the joy this friend put out into the world.
Our area sucks for daycare... There are no infant places and all of the others are old buildings that feel gross and dirty even if they aren't. Real estate is so limited and overpriced that nowhere new can open, even though they are building new houses like crazy. I feel like anyone with half a brain could make a ton by opening a decent place that looks bright and happy, I swear.
I did a quick search and didn't see anything, so apologies if this has been asked. Has anyone purchased anything from Land of Nod? I found a few things for the nursery from the website that I love but wonder about quality. Thanks!
Anyone have a prenatal massage yet? My entire body is super sore, particularly my neck and back. Is it worth it or should I just wait to post-partum and get a deep tissue
@Marley629 I had one at 13 weeks and it was kind of whatever because I wasn't having any body soreness, and it felt kind of incomplete if that makes sense because it was on my side and I didn't feel totally relaxed - just a bunch of basic rubbing lol. I can see how the same massage would feel really good now though! ETA they did a lot with my back but it's tough to get the neck really well when you're on your side.
I say splurge, especially since the sciatica has been miserable!

@Marley629 I had one at 16 weeks and it was HEAVENLY. I'm planning to get another one when I'm finished packing up my house for our big move. It'll be much needed! DO IT!
Now that nearly all of us are 3rd tri, is anyone on the red raspberry leaf tea train? I never used it with DS, but I'm curious about it. What convinced to try or not try It?
I'm taking maternity photos this coming up weekend and I have a great outfit planned for a few rainbow babies pictures, but for ones with kids and my husband, I want to wear normal clothes instead of a "gown". I'm having a hard time figuring out what color scheme, it's technically fall, but here in central Texas, it's still 90+ degrees out.
Should we go with fall colors, burgundy, navy, and cream? Or lighter blue, pastel pink and white? #firstworldproblems
@kvacmak What is the deal with red raspberry leaf tea. I know it's in the tea my acupuncturist gave me while TTC and she said I could keep drinking it throughout pregnancy, but I totally have not been using it.
