I'm giving some of my maternity clothes to a local mom in need she's only about 14 weeks along so the stuff I'm giving her will work out best for her pregnancy as far as "seasons" go. Our new fridge gets delivered tomorrow!!!
Where is everyone buying their cribs from? For DS we bought from some obscure store in Quebec online... but we won't be doing that again because the dresser was crap and it was expensive. The only things I can think of are Ikea (feel to cheapie for me) BRU (seems reall7 expensive) or Amazon (hit and miss). Since its such a big purchase I'd like to make sure I'm not missing out on any other potential options. Keep in mind I am in Canada, and no target will not ship a crib here
@kvacmak I've heard good things about ikea cribs. I agree that some of their stuff can be hit or miss in terms of quality. We're hoping to head to ikea next weekend to check it out in person and hopefully pull the trigger and get it.

@kvacmak we ordered a crib and dresser at Pottery barn kids today. A lot of their stuff is pricey but the one we wanted (Emerson line) was more affordable + an extra 25% off for Labor Day. I've also heard good things about Babyletto cribs (sold on amazon) and IKEA Henslik + IKEA Sniglar.
@kvacmak we bought this baby's crib from Buy Buy Baby. I love it - fits with his room perfectly. I bought DD2's crib from Pottery Barn and we're about to convert it to her full-size bed. Currently it's her toddler bed - it wasn't inexpensive but it's in amazing shape 4 years and counting. I would have ordered this crib from there again in a heartbeat but I wasn't loving any of the styles for what I was looking for.
I justified the cost of our PBKids dresser/changing table because it will last forever and isn't just nursery furniture like a "regular" changing table would be. I think you could also justify the cost of a schmancy convertible crib-to-bed for the same reason-- you NEVER have to buy new furniture for your kid's room again!
As for cribs for us, I hate the way toddler beds look and our rooms are small so I think it's kind of dumb for a crib to convert to a full/queen-- so I got a DaVinci crib without the toddler bed conversion kit, knowing that we'll be purchasing a twin bed for the room when DD outgrows the crib.
The unit above us is undergoing a bathroom renovation. It's so loud that DS and I can't hear each other talk. We're hanging out in a common area, but I need a nap BAD.
We got our crib from ikea - they are simple, cheap and recommended by consumer reviews. I wanted the Sniglar but our local ikea is out of stock until mid dec. So I got the Sundvik.
@elcd458 well that's kind of what we thought with DS and bought a nice neutral will grow with him style of crib and dresser... but the dresser is absolute shit and has already broken... and we already have an extra queen size bed that will be this LOs once she grows out of the toddler bed so we didn't really need another full size bed. The crib we ended up going with is a good compromise I think because it converts to a toddler bed but not full size and was cheaper than any 4-in-1 I liked out there.
We actually got two cribs as hand me downs from friends. One was free and the other they sold us with the mattress for like $100. They both are convertible. They aren't the same, but they are the same color which is good enough for me. Considering my boys will both be in their convertible beds while this one is in a crib, I put one on my registry at Target just so I can get the completion code with it.
So MIL bought us some stuff off the registry and it arrived today, including a box of NB diapers. I jokingly said to DH, "Do diapers expire?" expecting him to either call me dumb if he thought I was serious, or get the joke. Buuut he starts looking for a date on the box. When I told him, he was like, "See, I don't know anything!" Hahaha.
@kvacmak - oh no! We're hoping to get to ikea this weekend and check them out ourself. And if we don't like, I do have a crib from BRU picked out as a backup.

@Tennis11785 We have the Hensvik for DS and while it's certainly not super heavy duty or anything, I think it more than serves its purpose and captured what we wanted in terms of simplicity. I even got in there a few times with him when he was littler and I am not a small lady - so far so good lol.
We bought our crib from Babies R Us for $199 (https://www.toysrus.com/product?productId=120968046) - right now it's out of stock but it comes in other colors too. We assembled it ourselves and it wasn't too bad. It looks nice and is quite sturdy. I'm happy with it.

I just called to cancel my Sirius XM subscription and oh my god I hate that they only allow you to cancel over the phone and then they try 49 different "specials" to get you to stay. NO, I DON'T WANT IT. BYE.
@breezybee Lol we need to cut out expenses and Sirius seemed super unnecessary since we can play Spotify in that car or just use the poor-people-radio (which we already do in our other car that isn't new enough for Sirius to even be a thing).
@peachy13 That's the crib we just decided we want. I hope it's not out of stock at the stores near us because they definitely had it on display at two stores and it was on sale for $179.
@MJDsquared I'm SO glad I saw your comment about Sirius XM because I'd been meaning to cancel mine too (for the same reasons) and it renews tomorrow! I'm on hold with them now...
ETA: Holy crap, you were not kidding! Actually getting my account cancelled was probably the most challenging thing I've had to do all week!
The high today is like 74, which is music to my ears, and I'm SO EXCITED because I prefer dressing for fall anyway, but I'm especially stoked about it pregnant. Like, I feel sort of like a cute pregnant lady for the first time today (despite my hormonal crying breakdown over my weight last night...yikes). Can't waaaait for boots and booties and leggings!
@leilagphillips Right?! And they seriously had me tempted with the five months for $26, but I persevered! Hahaha.
@MJDsquared I almost went for that deal too, but I also resisted the temptation! And since the renewal was going to go through tomorrow, I got a whopping 44 cent credit back lol. I am going to keep my Spotify Premium account since both my husband and I use that and I will just be more consistent about downloading new playlists to listen to in the car. I'm really going to miss a couple of the channels though!
Sarah J. Maas...if you like high fantasy, she's phenomenal. Her books are marketed as YA, but between the violence and the sex, my kids won't be allowed to read her books until they're 18
@Skcobb My DH is a huge fantasy fan (I like it too, but he is more limited and picky about his genres than I am). I'll have to see if he's read any of hers.

@cait5413 they are geared a bit more towards women, but I'm still trying to persuade DH to read them. I mean, they're technically about an assassin...guys like that, right?
DRAMA ALERT DRAMA ALERT May 2018 has a couple of good threads for those of you who are bored. Start with this week's Randoms thread and THEN go to the Poll that's entitled something like "What kind of BMB do you want to have?" OK, time for my nightly ice cream date.
@kdestito I had an "I heart hubby" moment tonight too! I feel like it's just been a particularly long and stressful day, and I took an unplanned nap between 5-7, which meant nothing got done for dinner. I also had to drop off some mascara at my SIL's house (I sell younique on the side) and was totally not feeling it. WITHOUT ME ASKING, DH offered to drop off the mascara and pick up dinner so I could continue resting. Damn, I love that man!

@Tennis11785 I've laid hands on them... and personally I'm not a fan.
@blueskies17 pottery barn, while beautiful, is SO darn expensive!
@disneyfan0511 I tried checking out Buy Buy Baby but they just redirected me to Bed Bath & Beyond for Canadian shoppers and they only have mini cribs
@breezybee Wayfair for the win! OMG that website was SO overwhelming with options! I love it! And FREE SHIPPING on furniture?!?! Yes please!
We got this one:
