@libbberty Oh I definitely am! I put too much work into the tacos and the other banners to toss them after this! I will use them until they fall apart.
@libbberty I need to get my butt in gear with working out! I am normally SO active, but I haven't done much since switching jobs and going from 25+ miles a week of walking to pretty much nothing about (2) months ago. I know I will regret it if I don't get it together soon!
@jaclyn0405 you and me both, girl! Moving and traveling totally ruined my workout schedules. I need to get back on track. My OB basically told me that she doesn't care how much weight I gain (within a range, of course), but she wants me to prep for labor like it's a marathon/endurance event. When I WAS on track, I told her I was doing about 2 classes a week and 1-2 walks per week, and she said, could you make it three classes? I try to remind myself during every workout that this will payoff later, either with delivery or with feeling more like myself sooner. But why is it SOOOOO hard sometimes?
This monster baby to do list is not making it any easier to prioritize for me.
@libbberty yah my OB office said 30 minutes a day every day if possible. Ummm ya with everything else going on and the constant prepping of the house and just general LIFE for this baby, even 1/2 hour seems hard right now. I just upgraded my Beachbody membership to include every program they've ever created and I have free weights at home, so I feel like now I have ZERO excuses!
@cyanope - it's taco themed! Tacos are the mom-to-be's favorite food so I'm going with the whole "Taco-bout a baby shower" idea. I was going to do woodland themed originally because that's her nursery theme but her MIL threw her a shower down in Georgia and did the woodland stuff so I didn't want to do the same.
OMG I collapse into my bed immediately after work half the days, without even making dinner. I can't imagine having the energy to exercise every single day.
Anyone else 'forget' how to sneeze!? I started tensing up when getting ready for a sneeze (for fear it would hurt my stomach!?!), and now it's like I can't complete the sneeze- my diaphragm and abdominal muscles won't let me! I ended up making a funny noise and laugh every time. I'm sure my coworkers think I'm nuts
Sounds so cute, @gusgus14! I did a "fiesta" theme for DD's first birthday with a taco bar and everything. It came out so cute (if I do say so myself). Let me know if you're still wanting ideas for decor. I have LOTS of pictures, haha.
@ReadytoRun77 I totally tense up when I sneeze, but it's so I don't sniss myself. It's happened far more to me this pregnancy than the first. I have to make sure to clench the kegels or the floodgates open
@ReadytoRun77@Cricket99 yes to the sneezing problems. Definitely need to to remind myself to do more kegels. Also I'm a PT, but am considering a visit to a women's health PT for a more thorough eval and plan
I can't believe some of us have already hit V-day. I can't believe we're here already! **Please tell me V-day is still a thing and I haven't unknowingly mentioned a taboo topic.
I jumped on the @supercoolstephy train with all things Fall at the hair salon last night. I am normally a dark red, and by normal I mean I pay for it, because I am a natural blonde but last night I went to the darkkkk side. We did two different deep violets on my roots and then lightened the ends so they would hold this amethyst high intensity fashion color. Officially obsessed and officially ready for ALL things Fall!
@sonalisharma It's viability day - 24 weeks is when the fetus is considered medically viable outside the womb, as chances of survival greatly increase at that point.
@mamaof5already - thanks and will do! We decided on a churro bar instead of cake! There were supposed to be custom taco cookie sugars as favors but the bakery I was using has been MIA in the communication department so I've pretty much given up hope there.
@missblaze this is completely a personal things for me but I wont really celebrate or feel comfortable until after 28 weeks. I'm previously mentioned I work in the pharmacy that supports the NICU at my hospital. Personally I've seen so much heartbreak for those little 24 weekers and the slew of medical problems that will follow them into life.
@burnsmommy27 I think you're right that it's a very personal choice whether or not you celebrate the milestone. I just see it as that - a milestone. Same as reaching 14 weeks (drastic decrease in risk of miscarriage) - doesn't mean somewhat won't miscarry or have other issues, but it's still a turning point in pregnancy.
@missblaze I've been thinking about vday being around the corner too! It was definitely a big deal when I was here in '13 and I thought it was fun. Of course no one WANTS there baby born at 24 weeks but it is comforting to know they would have a fighting chance! I have a cousin and close friend who had a baby at 29wks but he hadn't been growing well the last part of the pregnancy and was closer to 25, 26 wks? He was in the 1lb range and spent from the beginning of Jan to end of June in the NICU. But today he is a healthy, happy little 5 yr old.
I reached "V-day" last Saturday and had my own little "celebration," which included texting DH (who was working OT...again) a picture of our 24 week "cantaloupe" alert from The Bump. The caption read, "viability day...woohoo!" Dh's response was, "of course he's viable...he has a monster penis." Like...what does that even mean? The US tech knew at 13 weeks that LO was a boy (because his genitalia was VERY apparent), so I guess DH has decided to make that a matter of pride. Why are men so weird?
@cyanope my husband was over his disappointment (he wanted a girl) the minute the technician said that our boy was waving it around in there. He is SO PROUD of that teeny little appendage, it's like he personally made that part. I asked him if he was going to keep bragging about it after he's born... and he said "if it's big." LOL. Men are really super weird.
@auntieraindrop and @cyanope last time DH shared DS boy parts on Facebook. He was so proud. So when they showed us the new babes lady parts I asked him if he was going to post it, he said no way, I'm not sharing that part of her. HAHA
Yeah, @auntieraindrop...while other pregnant couples have cute little nicknames for their growing babies, DH has dubbed our LO, "The Hog" in honor of his "monster penis."
ETA: My other random of the day... DH is in charge of bath time at night. I was cleaning up dinner while DH was getting DD into the bathtub. I heard him start yelling, "No, no, no!!!" from upstairs, which immediately startled me because DH never yells, especially at DD. The yelling stopped, and I carried on with dishes. A while later, DH came down with DD and asked, "guess what our crazy daughter just did?" He then informed me that while he was filling the tub, he needed to pee, so he walked over to the toilet. Then, while in midstream, DD ran up and stuck her hand RIGHT INTO HIS STREAM OF PEE! Needless to say, both DD, DH, and the floor needed that bath afterwards!
I ordered my pump! Turns out that Aeroflow doesn't work with my insurance, that's why it was taking them so long to get back to me. But I ordered from https://pumpingessentials.com/ instead that's why my insurance recommended. I was able to get the Spectra S1 for just a $39.99 upgrade fee and they are sending a handsfree pumping bra with it too! No script or anything required through my insurance. Whee!
I survived the shower! Of course it ran way later than I planned so we're almost two hours late leaving for our camping trip with my husband's company Whoops. Good thing we aren't hiking or anything because my feet are completely dead.

I just scored a brand-new never been used mini crib off Offer Up for $40. I am stoked.
