Re: Randoms 9.10

  • @meatballs37 Glad all is well!  Congrats on two boys!

So, I found a website https://aeroflowbreastpumps.com/ to get your breast pump from (if you are choosing that route).  They contact your insurance to make sure you are approved--then you pick your pump and they send it to you.  Mine won't ship until January bc through my insurance, you have to be 30 days out before they will send it.  It seemed super easy and secure. It may be worth looking into!

I used this site with DD and it's great!  They give you all your options, tell you all your upgrade options if you wish to pay more... it was the best.

With DS I just called the insurance. I didn't get nearly as many options.

Glad to hear from you @meatballs37!  Yay for boys!!

@magnolia305 my insurance has a page where they ask you to contact them first.  Do you think they would reject the claim if I went through that website?

My mom kept a box of each of our baby clothes and she has pulled out my brothers' clothes again for when she's babysitting my DS now, which I think is super cute. So there's nothing wrong to holding on to your favorites for posterity! :)

ETA I also used Aeroflow for my pump last time and it was ridiculously easy, got the pump I wanted for free really quickly and it was awesome.

  • @chucksmom15 I am not sure.  Last time, I called my insurance once to get my pump--but it took forever, so I ended the call.  Then DS came early and I never called back.  This seems like it may be slightly less of a headache because they take care of it all?  I guess I will find out! ha
  • I am considering bringing my physio exercise ball thing to work to sit on instead of this dumb shitty desk chair that does nothing for my back.
  • It amazes me how many opinions people have about other people's births. Worry bout' yo self. I'm certain that neither way is a walk in the park.

I'm entirely too excited to order my breast pump. I'm springing for this one this time. I ended up pumping exclusively for DD and I'm going for the convenience of not needing to be attached to the wall this time.

@corcola I fully supported that. I pretty much lived on mine. We are staying with my parents right now or I'd already have mine out all the time.
  • I really do try to schedule as many Dr. appts for the same day as I can (I had 3 today), but it doesn't always work out that way. Today I scheduled appts out through Dec. and it seems that between the OB, scans, etc... I will not be at work for two full weeks in a row up to my EDD and I am much happier about that than I should be...
  • If you're having a baby girl and are having a baby shower - what gift would you LOVE to get? I'd like to get some ideas for a family friend who is having a baby shower and doesn't have a registry.

  • @SarahFoley725 DD1 is 2.5 and DD2 is 15months (?) idk. She turned one at the tail end of June. Lol

@SunflowerMama428 we didn't really sleep train. She weaned herself whenever i ask pregnant with DD2 and then still slept with us. Now ifwear her falls asleep is where she stays until she wakes wakes up (within reason. ANd only as of the last week). The girls' Room is on the other end of our house from our room and I'm anxious with them so far away. I'm actually thinking about talking to my doctor about my anxiety after Lyn anatomy scan appt. :/

@lainikins thanks girl! You have no idea how much a support système means to me. <3

    @meatballs37 I hear you! It's tough! Glad you're all okay! <3

I'd get diapers, a nose frida, swaddle blankets, and/or a gift card for them to get whatever they need the most. Frilly things are cute… But not necessarily needed.

Now,  on the other hand, if you know that they already have at most things that they need… Then I would get something cute and personalized they might not otherwise bye

Books. Because I think every child deserves a shit ton of books.  :#

Books are a great idea!! Thank you @TattoosandLace !! Sorry got stuck in the box!
  • @SarahFoley725 used that pump with DS1 and I loved it! (as much as anyone can love pumping)
  • @TattoosandLace no tips for you sorry :( we sleep trained DD right at a year. Going to bed wasn't her problem it was not falling back asleep after she woke up that we struggled with.

@psm2462 good to know! I can't imagine being attached to the wall while I have a toddler.

We did this thing where instead of a card with the gift we had all of my guests do a baby book instead. Instant baby book library!!!

I am doing the same thing. I have an evenflo breast pump that i used for DS but i would like to get the Medela pump or the Ameda pump this time around.

Yes! I absolutely love this idea!
  • @RSaini I would second the suggestion of a nose Frida. Maybe make a gift basket of items like that that people often forget (nose Frida, favorite bum cream, infant Tylenol and infant Advil, etc). I like getting the go pod for people as it is useful and not widely known about so people are always swooning over it.

I would not get clothes though. It she knows she's having a girl and she has no registry I can guarantee she'll get tons of clothes.

As a side note, not to you, I hate the book instead of a card thing. It is rude.

  • I also used the Aeroflow website to get my breast pump and it was so incredibly easy.
@RSaini I like the idea of a gift basket with a lot of the small things. Those little care kits are great too, with the nose sucker and nail clippers, etc.
  • Sy glad to hear the good news! I was thinking of you today, @SunflowerMama428 <3<3
  • Yay @SunflowerMama428!  I couldn't remember when your appointment was.  So happy everything is good with the heart.
  • So glad everything is fine @SunflowerMama428!!

  • One of my cats has become super clingy.  Gotta be that she knows something is up.  She's bonded closer to me than my other cat anyway.  She follows me everywhere.  At night, she normally sleeps by my belly anyway, and then goes to do her normal night cat stuff.  Now, she is with me all night.  I know because of getting up to pee all the time.  It's sweet.  I wonder if LO will get used to her purring.  Love that thought.

@SarahFoley725  That is gorgeous!  How are you going to use it?
  • @olitwinturbosnprincess I think I'm going to put it on a wooden sign. I haven't done that before so fingers crossed lol
  • @SarahFoley725 How does that work? The cricut cuts it and you have to pick off all the inner pieces?

My sister has this hairless cat. He's pretty snuggly in general but he loved to lay with my stomach when I was pregnant with DD. She's 18 months old now and they are besties. They chase each other and roll around on the floor together. I took this picture this morning of him snugging my new bump.

@eggplantface yep! It's a pain sometimes. This is the most extensive project I've taken on and I definitely won't be listing it for sale in my shop hahaha

Same here! All three of my kitties have been super clingy and affectionate lately, more so than usual. One in particular follows me everywhere and will even sit outside the bathroom door and wait for me. He sleeps on the bed with me and will meow at me if he thinks I'm not paying him enough attention, which is cute unless it's 4am and I'm only awake cause I had to pee. But I love my sweet kitties and hope they adjust well to the baby when she comes.
  • My cat is bonded to DD and sleeps with her (she's 15 so it's ok) but my DH's dog Oscar has become such a mama's boy. He has to be pressed up against my stomach at all times and gets really protective of me. DH can't even pat my butt without Oscar growling. DD gave me an overexagerated hug (think "I looooove you Mom!) and Oscar growled and barked. DH and I have been disciplining him because we want that behavior to stop before the baby gets here.

  • I almost cried in a restaurant at lunch today. I'm not a random thing cryer even when pregnant but DD was being SO naughty. We go out to lunch by ourselves pretty often so I don't know what was up her butt today. She wasn't screaming or being loud, she was just doing everything she could to be difficult to me. For some reason I'm taking it super personally. She's a very sassy and strong willed child so none of this is new, it just really made me mad.
  • @SarahFoley725 That makes for a miserable outing. I'm sorry. This is our first baby, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I always try to give lots of smiles to moms out with their littles alone. It CANNOT be an easy task.

  • Allergies have gotten the worst of me and now DD is starting to get the stuffed/runny nose. I just want to be able to take sudafed and get rid of this horrible cough!
@SarahFoley725 that pumpkin is amazing! I love seeing g things like that and hope the transfer turns out well!
