@schaze Those horse heads are creepy and hilarious. There's a picture of DH creeping up on me at a Halloween party wearing one of those and I laugh every time I see it.
DD1 has cried every day at Kindergarten since Thursday. I'm so stressed out. I'm a SAHM so she's used to being with me a lot. She did go to preschool for two years but only from 9-1130 three days a week and kindergarten in full day. I am a ball of nerves wondering if she calmed down and how she's doing
DD1: 2/28/12 DD2: 9/12/13 Baby #3: Due January 2018
@PhillymommaX2 I can say that for DS who is only in daycare, he's started a phase where he cries when I leave him, but only on the mornings where we go in later, like 8 am. They've mentioned that he cries for maybe 5 minutes and then goes and plays. He's been in Daycare since he was 10 weeks so I figured that we would skip that part, but he still does it. I'm hoping you DD is doing the same. Its so hard leaving them, I even left the other day crying as I got to my car because it's so heartbreaking.
@PhillymommaX2 Hugs. That has to be so hard. Is kindergarten full day all five days of the week? I know it means nothing just hearing it, but she will definitely adjust!
My random is that I am only working Monday-Wednesday. My mom and I are leaving Thursday morning for a short trip to Chicago to see Hamilton (!) and eat at all of our favorite restaurants, go to the Art Institute etc. It's going to be so fun and is so nice of my mom to do! We are driving (about five hours), which I vastly prefer to the hassle of flying. I can't wait! The bad part, of course, is missing DD. She'll be with my dad and DH though and in good hands. And we'll be back Saturday afternoon
@EmilyLove25 that sounds like so much fun! We keep meaning to take a day trip down to Chicago but we just can never find the time.
I have no idea where my extremely social kid came from. DH and I hate going out, but she's the kind of person who needs to go out at least once a day. I really just want to sit in the apartment all day and do nothing but it's looking like we're going to have to take an impromptu grocery store trip because she keeps bringing me my shoes and crying at the door.
@schaze DH and I would be in the same boat if our son ends up being very social. We are both homebodies, and don't get out much, so it would be interesting raising an extrovert.
@PhillymommaX2 I hear you, it is SO hard to watch them cry when you leave them. DD has been crying daily when I drop her off since we got back from vacation. Today she threw herself onto the Ottoman and did this super dramatic crying. I feel so bad but daycare lady assures me she stops right when I leave and they got get breakfast.
@schaze this cracks me up. I'm so sociable and chatty that it's obnoxious, but I'm a homebody who likes to just stay home, always. DS won't shut up when we see people. He has to wave and yell HI!!! or BYE!!!! to every person we meet. He's even started letting go of my hand and running to give girls hugs, not young toddler friends, or adults, but his favorite friends are 9-12 year old girls. So I took him to a park... aka school play area so he could get some energy out while I didn't have to worry that he was going to go hug the wrong person.
@jaclyn0405 Are they the same size at least? I started out as a B and now I am still a B on the right, but on the left I am a D. All I can wear is sports bras.
@supercoolstephy that is hilarious! DD loves to hug boys. She cornered a little 5 or 6 year old at the library last week and was trying to give him a hug but he looked terrified.
@schaze I'm trying to turn this into teaching moments of consent. Not everyone wants a hug, you can't just run up and hug everyone just because you like hugging.
@auntieraindrop nope definitely not the same size, but that has been my whole life lol. Left is about a 1/2 cup bigger, so I wear a very glamorous chicken cutlet from VS on the right side hahahaha.
I have a secret paint project going on at my house. It's a secret because I know DH doesn't want me painting while pregnant. I'm painting our guest room which is going to be the boys' room. So far I've spackled all of the holes and I've painted the ceiling and primed the walls. That took 2 days. DH is none the wiser as of now. I've been taping the curtain up in the window so it's not noticeable from outside when he gets home from work. I'm hoping to be done by Wednesday and surprise him. I'm going to pretend I forgot he doesn't want me painting. Lol.

I took down a whole wall in our dining room while dh was away watching football on Sunday. The dining room has been on our to do list for 4 years? Since we moved in, and i feel if its not done before the baby gets here it will never be done...
Make sure you open the Windies when painting though for good ventilation! And show a picture when done.
Tonight is DS's (13 y/o- my oldest) first middle school football game! He looked so cute in his jersey to wear to school today Except the damn kid forgot to tell me that he needed jeans today (my boys stopped wearing jeans a few years ago-only like 'slicks' and athletic pants...) so this morning caused a breakdown because we couldn't find the only pair of jeans he owns. He had to settle on khakis. Wheew survived that crisis with only a few tears.
My check engine light came on during my drive to work. Service traction control?? Fantastic. And I'm starting to freak out a bit because my belly hasn't grown much since week 18 or so. Always something to freak out about.. Guess I'll ask at my OB visit next week. I'm thankful everything else is going okay- cervix length is still good and I'm down 5 Makena shots, only 18 more to go!
Pregnancy dreams are weird. I remember having really vivid nightmares with Miles, but this pregnancy it's all just been weird shit. Like, after the birthday party we had to go back to the venue to pick up everyone's sex toys and swing by a perfume shop owned by Seth Rogen.
@scatteringashes YES. I dreamed my husband had a secret boyfriend. Then I dreamed a sex dream about women? I don't know. Crazy stuff. Then I dreamed I rode a horse bareback and heavily pregnant like 40 miles, and when I reached my destination the horse turned into a starving man in underwear? Then I dreamed my brother and his wife stole a baby and went on the run from the law?
I have zero motivation today and all I want to do is nap. If I hadn't left early a couple of days recently I would totally take PTO the rest of the day to get my errands done and a nice long nap before getting back to work on shower decorations.
I made it to Boston! It's only a 90 minute flight but somehow it still took 7 hours from my house to my hotel. Thank goodness for some random guy who saw me staring at my phone & the T map and let me know I was standing on the wrong level to actually catch a train. The conference I'm attending had a discounted block of rooms that were all Kings, and I did my reservation about a month ago, but when I checked in the guy was like "yeah we're totally booked so we have to put you in a 2 Queen room." It doesn't really make a difference since I'm by myself but still feels kinda shady - or is that a normal hotel thing? I don't know. There's a cocktail reception tonight that I said I'd go to but like... I already took my bra off... do I really have to go and stand around with strangers and not drink? Can't I just go across the street and get a burrito and go to bed?
@jaclyn0405 and @auntieraindrop I'm in the same boat with the increasing bra size. I've already gone out once and bought new bras around week 14. After noticing the new bras aren't fitting right, I measured myself and went up yet another size! Guess I need to buy new bras again...
@jaclyn0405 and @darkrose88 me too! I started as a 36B. Sized up to 36C early, then 36D and a few weeks back bought a 36DD!! I'm seriously afraid they are going to keep growing at this pace for the next 4 months. Someone please tell me it will stop. Not only is it expensive to buy new bras but these things are starting to get super uncomfortable. Props to the large chested ladies who have to deal with this on a regular basis.
Add me to the boob growing train! I went from D to DDD. I hope it ends there! My back was killing me until I went bra shopping and got some nice bras with nice thick straps and a nice thick band
For me the boobs grew and grew and grew. Luckily I have 4 sets of bras from my last pregnancy. Started at a 34DDD ended at a 38H then they went down to a 36G while breast feeding. Hang in there ladies
@scatteringashes and @auntieraindrop my dreams are ridiculous lately too! I actually can't recall them at the moment but I remember them vividly for the first hour or so in the mornings.
Here to say that my arm hurts from the flu shot today. That makes me cranky. Also DS announced today that 'daddy eats leaves' because DH was having a salad. An honest observation and also hysterical coming from a two year old.
I had a very disgusting dream a couple of nights ago. I went to visit my sister (she's in college) and we were getting ready for bed and I asked her why she wasn't brushing her teeth. She smiles at me, and her teeth were SO ORANGE and she says "I don't brush them anymore, I'm trying to get them a neon orange color!" Like it was a new trend that college kids do nowadays! I'm still horrified by it lol
I've had an eventful last several hours. Called my OB this afternoon after observing (sorry tmi) some green spots on my panty liner. They wanted me to go to triage to check for leaking.... long story short there is absolutely zero things wrong. Which I am BEYOND greatful for. Apparently it is "normal" for my body to create weird color fluid this pregnancy.
My random is I got to participate in a really neat medical study. Basically they had me wear a panty liner. They are testing to see if it will turn blue when amniotic fluid is present. It's an amazing invention. Imagine 5 years from now if you could just walk into a pharmacy and purchase a panty liner, put it on, wait 10 minutes and know if you need to head to the hospital for fluid leaking. The time, money and medical resources it could have are huge!! Best part I get a check for $50 for putting one on
One day you guys won't have to hear me talk about shower decorations anymore but today is not that day. I still have to make 24 more tacos but my banners are starting to come together! I did not make the cacti, I just strung them on the banner. I did make the tacos and they take FOREVER. I didn't get nearly as much done last night because I didn't get home from running errands until after 7 and I forgot to get hot glue sticks so I couldn't finish the other banners I'm working on (Pom tissue tassel banners for the ceiling).
ANYWAY.
I hung these on what will be the guestbook table to see how they look and I'm super happy with how they're turning out!
ETA - Yes, I'm definitely being an AW and I don't even care.
I think I have caught the plague that took my boss out last week. And today is my full day at work, then Friday it's just two of us in the department, so I'm hoping I can knock it out by chilling on my day off because I don't want to stick one guy with the whole department but calling in sick. (Plus, I don't have paid sick time and Friday is a third of my weekly hours.)
@scatteringashes I hope you feel better! And @gusgus14 those look awesome! I know it is probably super stressful, but your hard work is definitely paying off...AW it up girlfriend!
@scatteringashes I hope you kick its butt soon! Being sick and pregnant is the worst.
@gusgus14 Those are AMAZING! Not that you would want to take the time to do it with them being so time consuming, but they look so professionally done, that you could totally sell those. (And, now I want tacos for lunch. haha)
I'm loving the tacos @gusgus14! Make sure you save those for a future party so they get some extra use!
Last night, girls on the subway offered me their seats - was the first time! And, I got my butt to barre class. I've been really into the more easygoing workouts lately (found a weekend prenatal yoga class that I LOVE) so I needed to do some more strength-based stuff. Got my butt kicked. I'm going to try to go once per week for the rest of my pregnancy, plus a few videos at home here or there.
@CANTW82BMOM I LOVE that this project is secret. Good on you! I'm super impressed by (and slightly jealous of) your motivation.
