  • Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD: 12

    WAYDTGKU: All the usual

R/R: It's Friday! Busy weekend ahead. Dinner with friends tonight, my husband leaves for an international work trip tomorrow and then I'm going to a local music hop (kinda like a festival ) with some friends tomorrow night. Rant: I'm still really worried about Hurricane Irma and my parent's home in South Florida. Send them good thoughts. :)

    CS/Q: None

GTKY: I babysat a lot in my teen years so is that considered my first job? Boy, do I have some stories. I think working in a doctor's office when I was 17 was my first real job. When things were quiet they would send me to the back to shred old medical files. I would read files as I shredded. There were some real interesting things in those medical files, ha

  • @jaylii I'm out at client's today so i can't really spend time here but it's so quiet so i wanted to make sure and comment and say i'm thinking about all of Florida.  This is going to be a huge deal.
  • Month/Cycle: 9/10

    CD: 1  :'(

WAYDTGKU: I don't even know anymore. I got a free box on CBAD OPKs so I guess I will use those this month. Probably won't temp. Hopefully get DH to reschedule his urology appointment (and actually go).

R/R: Well it's CD1.... and this was my shortest cycle, probably ever, and my LP went from consistently 12 days to 15 last cycle to 10 now. Seems wrong... but all of my tests came back normal.

    CS/Q:

GTKY: What was your first job and what was your most memorable experience from it?

My first job was nannying. When I was in high school I had 3 kids I watched after school. This included coordinating their schedules, picking them all up after school and daycare, getting them to rec activities and usually making dinner. I LOVED it! I actually shared the job with another friend so we each only worked a few days a week.

technically McDonalds lol. It was up near my parents camp, and I didn't want to work cause I just wanted to hang out with my friends at the camp.. so I pretended I had shitty availability and ended up working like 2 hrs a day for 2 months if that. Lol it was a joke.

@jaylii hope your parents were able to evacuate. enjoy your time with friends!
@MrsMiller8588 ugh, sorry about CD1. FX your DH gets his appointment (and goes) soon.

    CD: 5

WAYDTGKU: bbt, pnv, opks (later), cm, green tea

R/R: I'm just full of rants today, I'm sick and i'm stubborn and don't really like medicine, but I'm taking something because I would be useless without it. Also, one of my dogs has been pooping in the house because of stress from being boarded and the other one vomited this morning. Luckily the DH cleaned up both accidents.  until I found more in another room.

CS/Q: nope, just a few dots. I skipped some days during AF and it wouldn't matter anyway bc I had a fever and was traveling.

GTKY: What was your first job and what was your most memorable experience from it?
I worked at an ice cream shop in high school. it was so much fun, I made some great friends and we just had a good time, but our boss also taught us a lot about being responsible employees and how to properly run a business. I also learned some skills that I still use today, like how to scoop ice cream to make it "fluffy" and look bigger than it actually is and also how to decorate cakes.

  • @MrsMiller8588 Sorry to hear about CD 1 and to hear about the weird cycle behavior.

About Irma, yes, my parents are out thankfully. They are coincidentally on vacation out of Florida this week and will not be returning home this weekend as planned. My Dad is dying to get home to the house so I think they're going to try to head home as soon as it passes.
@blackhottamales Thanks for the good thoughts. I'm sad for Florida as well.
@catlady1215 I waitressed in college but never worked in fast food. Funny how you got out of it to hang out with friends!

R/R: Hoping DH gets home at a reasonable hour tonight. He literally fell asleep on top of me last night after he, uh, finished. lol.

    CS/Q:

GTKY: What was your first job and what was your most memorable experience from it?
My first job was a waitress at a cafe when I was 16, and it taught me that tips are lucrative, but also made me feel a lot of resentment about tipping, in general. I felt, and still feel, that any time someone gave me a tip it was because I was doing my job. Like, serving folks was my job, so duh, I'm going to do it. And then they get to decide if I get money for doing that. The cafe should have just paid me a reasonable wage instead, and they should've fired me if I didn't do a good job. Being a server is often a career for folks, and it should be treated as such with a livable, reasonable, predictable wage. It also made me really uncomfortable that I got larger tips if guys thought I was pretty or something. I only worked there for a few months because the restaurant went under, lol. I have not been a server since.
  • @Avrilmai oh no sick puppies are the worst! Especially when you are sick too... hopefully everyone starts feeling better and you get a nice relaxing weekend to recover!

@jaylii I'm glad your parents are safe!

@doxiemoxie212 glad he got to come home and HIO and get some sleep!

@jaylii so glad your parents are safe, I'm sending my thoughts and prayers to all affected by Irma.
@Avrilmai sorry you're sick, and also sorry for your pups!! That sounds awful.

WAYDTGKU: BBT, CM, OPK, maca, seed-cycling, pre-seed, +water +exercise -caffeine

R/R: Rant: see CD 1 Rave: at least it's Friday!  We have some hiking planned for the weekend, and we get to go see our house again (we are building a house and it's coming along nicely - they just installed all the cabinetry).

    CS/Q: nothing to see here.

GTKY: What was your first job and what was your most memorable experience from it?
I worked at Starbucks as my first 'real' job... definitely have a lot of memories.  Especially of getting yelled at by people.... people get cray about their coffee.  I once made a white mocha for a lady, and she returned it and said it didn't taste right.  So I made her a new one, but I saved the coffee to taste later myself (as I usually did), and then she returned the second one.  So my supervisor came and tasted them both (and they tasted normal and fine), so my supervisor goes "she wants it sweeter, let's give it to her" and she pumped 10 pumps of the syrup into the cup.  We gave the drink to the lady and she goes "that tastes better thank you." OMG, my supervisor went "hope she doesn't have any cavities."  I will never forget that.

    R/R: FRIYAY!!!

CS/Q: Not too much chartwise. But looks like my temps have started to stabilize.

GTKY: What was your first job and what was your most memorable experience from it?

I worked as an assistant for the local government treasury the summer before Senior year of HS. I can't say anything was particularly memorable, but I now work as an accountant....so there's that.
  • @offtoneverland yeah it was nuts.  What book are you reading for book club??  I'm looking for a new read!

  • @canucklehead123 We're reading The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead. I have no idea yet if it's any good! Have you read A Man Called Ove? We read that last month for book club and it was so good! Highly recommend it.

@offtoneverland. Was it hard to work at DQ and not eat ice cream every day?  I'm a big blizzard fan!
(Also, I loved reading A Man Called Ove).
@canucklehead123. Have you read any good books lately that you would recommend?  (If you are looking for some funny, lighter reads: I really enjoyed Big Little Lies and Orange Is the New Black...I guess they are shows now too, but I think the books are better).

WAYDTGKU: WFAFTL (jerk showed up 3 days early, UGH!),

R/R: Rant: AF showed up 3 days early, so that's lovely, but this cycle I knew this one wasn't going to work. DH and I were so busy and away from each other most of the month.

    CS/Q: Nothing to show.

GTKY: Culver's (The World's Largest), most memorable moment, oh gosh, there are so many things. I would say the routine customers who came in every week were my favorites. Always so sweet, and caring.

@MrsMiller8588 Sorry about CD1 and the confusing LPs. :(

    Month/Cycle: 3/2

    CD: 18

WAYDTGKU: HIO every other day until O, temping and charting.

R/R: I don't want to be at work. But I also don't want to go home because I'll have to clean. Honestly, I want to be smelling/buying hand soap from Bath and Body Works.

    CS/Q: Nada

GTKY: What was your first job and what was your most memorable experience from it? I worked at an arcade when I was 16. The only way I was able to take a break was if it was a smoke break, but I didn't smoke. I had a friend's older brother buy me a pack of cigarettes. I'd sit in a back stairwell, letting the cigarette burn down on its own while playing Snake on my Nokia (it was 2001). Someone walked in on me and I had to snuff out a cigarette and pretend like I had *just* finished and needed to get back on the floor. I was so afraid of getting caught that I actually started smoking and ended up smoking off and on for seven years. I'm now nine years tobacco free!

R/R: Rant:  work sucks, pushed my wrist a little too hard and it hurts tonight.  Rave:  Husband is the best.  He brought me home flowers and chocolate desserts after I told him my day sucked.

    CS/Q:  Nothing to stalk.

GTKY: What was your first job and what was your most memorable experience from it? I worked at Staples in high school as a cashier and stocking shelves. I enjoyed it--I still love office supplies! *nerd alert*  I also cut my hand with a boxcutter (so so clumsy) and needed 6 stitches!
  • @dukestar5 I just finished "Son of a Trickster" by Eden Robinson - I work with Indigenous families and youth and this book is about an Indigenous boy's journey with spirituality.... I found it really insightful.  It is set in Northern BC, Canada.  I also just finished Amy Schumer's book... pretty funny!

  • @dukestar5 I definitely ate my fair share of blizzards...and chicken fingers...and french fries...and occasionally sneaked some cookie dough. :) Glad to hear Big Little Lies was good. I planned to read it, but read Truly Madly Guilty first and didn't care for it, so I wasn't sure I'd like it.
    @ajsanders-2 So sorry for CD1. :s
@MLS6212 That's quite a story about how you started smoking! You were quite determined to get breaks. ;) Good job being tobacco free for 9 years!
@quiltandknit YH sounds so sweet! So nice of him to treat you to flowers and chocolate after a rough day. I hope next week at work is better. Rest your wrist this weekend!

  • @MLS6212 In college I worked in a restaurant and the only breaks also seemed to be smoke breaks. I didn't smoke, but I used to go sit outside or sit in the managers office on occasion and if someone asked what I was doing I would just say "smoking".
