I think it takes so long b/c of the high demand and the initial screening process before my lawyer will even present them to anyone.

I'm thinking of doing the next FET mid-sept (I should probably email my RE!) I think we are going back to just "normal" protocol with estrogen (estrace) and PIO. Lovenox might get added in, but I'm not sure. I had a "natural" period, as natural as it can be with still being on medications, in July, and hadn't had one since going off of BCs in 2013 without it being induced by provera so my RE wants to go back to the basics just to see what happens.

@hopeful_mom oh no. I'm so sorry to hear that!!! I don't know what I can say to make you feel better.

But keep in mind that you do have 5 PGS normal embryos. And yeah, even with PGS there are no guarantees... but you have higher chances.

August hasn't been a good month for both of us.

@mtpbadger oh ok. So a non medicated FET cycle? I've only done medicated cycles. Because my RE thought she will be able to control my lining better.

Oh no @hopeful_mom!! I'm so so sorry!!

I think a long screening process for the GCs (medical; mental health; etc.). My attorney also makes sure they have health insurance coverage before she will consider using any GC as well.

It's technically a medicated cycle since I don't cycle at all on my own, but back to the basics of just estrace and PIO. The past few have had everything and their kitchen sink thrown in.

@mtpbadger yeah. I figured it's mental health. Even before I started the treatments in this clinic they had me talk to a psychologist... so I can imagine how much more thorough it is for GC.

Have you ever used neupogen?

So now you're basically waiting for AF to show up?

I haven't ever used neupogen, or really heard of it. My RE did have me on prednisone for one FET and then another steroid (I can't remember the name of it, but she had read a study where this other kind helped a sub-set of women better) for another one to see if that made any different. It didn't.

AF usually doesn't show for me so my RE typically doesn't care where I am in my cycle when we start since I'm almost always at baseline and there's no reason for me to be on BC either.

ugh being at work and crying is not a good combo...each time the heartbreak is like another MC. I hate it. It's also my age knowing if this doesn't work I won't be able to really try again...why I'm even more of a basket case

The 8 cycles i've been through people can get in one and then some...sigh...and then there are the others that are worse off. I will try to get it out of my system, its just hard!

@mtpbadger my RE said she prefers not to put me on prednisone. And recommended neupogen instead. Which is kinda the opposite type of medication. But she still hope it would help.

i can't even imagine how you feel.

You do have 5 PGS normal embryos. And I want to tell you that this is enough for at least 1-2 pregnancies. But with all that happened to me recently, I don't know anything anymore.

This process is so hard. But try to be more positive going to your FET.

Ohh ladies, I've missed a lot! My heart is hurting right now for both of you. I wish so much that I could say something to help, but I know that I can't. All I can do is listen, offer support/ advice, and be positive for you both.

@prudence9-2 -it seems like your dr. is on top of things and has a plan. I am still curious about the immune testing since she did mention a possible immune issue--that's what I was thinking too! The fact that she mentioned leukemia really freaks me out. If she didn't mean it, she shouldn't have said it, but that would make me not take that drug. I really hope that 1/4 of the embryos is normal...you would really think that 1 would be. So, the first plan is that you will do two more FETs?

@hopeful_mom -ugh, ugh, ugh that your homies didn't make it. so, so sorry. yes, you do have five, but you still have the right to be upset that this one didn't work out. maybe your body is in overload with so many back-to-back cycles. did the dr. give any insight?

@LoveDontCostAThing yeah. This week has not been good one for @hopeful_mom and I.

so i heard back from my doctor and I feel slightly better about that injection. She basically said it doesn't cause leukemia but that it is an hypothetical risk.

I also asked a friend of mine who is a doctor to read some medical papers about it. And she said that it seems fine. And that there is not much risk. I will be closely monitored. And if my blood count levels are too high, they will make me skip a week.

My dr also agreed to do saline ultrasound to make sure that I have no leftovers like after last miscarriage...

prudence9-2 How are you holding up? Glad the meds will be ok. Do I need to start asking my RE about this too UGH I'm so confused!!!

And I just feel like thats not the case I dont know why but I just dont. The fact that OH sample wasn't the greatest annoys me. BUT out of the 6, 5 fertilized so it was still ok AND all kept growing through. Is it true that by day 3 its the sperms fault I DONT KNOW! I'll probably email her over the weekend as I've been to crazed working. If insurance was covering this would I feel better about it, I dont know but I can tell you I have way more fun losing money in vegas then this shit!

I'm trying to think positively. This process just sucks and I wish we had more answers! And I know this will sound crazy for all my ER that i had my RE i got normals from and the 2x now that I had to different male dr I got nothing

I'm sure its a coincidence BUT it PISSES me off to now end! Especially because if I waited one more day I would've had her (my RE) do my ER! Yes I could've lost some eggs in the mix but I'll never know....

@hopeful_mom that is a very weird coincidence. But I wouldn't think that the male dr did it wrong. If he's working at your clinic and if his ER on average are worse than other doctors, I'm sure something would have been done regarding that.

AFM... I'm terrified of the next FET. Trying to stay positive. But so so scared!!!

you can ask your RE about it. But I doubt she'd do anything after only 1 m/c as it is not "recurrent miscarriages" just yet. And hopefully you'd never get to that point!!!

prudence9-2 yes its strange and one of the other dr is the head of the clinic so its not like hes new to it all! Of course you're terrified that never goes away...isn't that what being a mom is all about.

@hopeful_mom -the baby doll is still alive...lol. I only use it sometimes because you have to keep pressing it to cry/ make sound. I feel like only a real baby will really work! how are you doing? your FET is soon, right?

@prudence9-2 -how are you? does your dr. think you can't hold a pregnancy? are you definitely doing another FET?

Ill have another FET with that injection... so we'll see. Kinda scary. Also an injection that has an hypothetical risk of leukemia...

on Tues I'll have another beta and we'll see how far I am. I already started taking BCP. So as soon as my beta is down, I can start again...

AFM: I have to say i'm exhausted! And I'm already up to 2mg of estrace a day and I forgot to check the calendar so I missed 1dose...I didn't double up but I'm assuming it should be fine. I was so busy with work that I kept forgetting to check my calendar...I'm getting more nervous with each passing day wondering what else I should be doing.

@hopeful_mom -I think that you are doing everything (and more) that you can possibly be doing! at this point, it is up to nature. when is your transfer? I am feeling pretty good! Today was the first day of school with the kiddos, so I'm tired, but trying to cook, clean, and keep my dogs entertained. I know it's an adjustment for them when summer ends and I am not home as much. I hid treats all over the house for them to find...lol. I can't believe that I am due in less than 3 months!!! My bump is huge. I feel the baby randomly throughout the day, but mostly at night. I get nervous when I don't feel him for hours at a time and start poking my stomach. Sometimes that gets a poke back!

@prudence9-2 -how are you doing? will you do another FET during your next cycle? That injection still freaks me out, but hopefully your dr. knows what she is talking about. I wish there was another dr. that you could get a second opinion from about the injection.

AFM... I did another beta today and it's negative!!! This time around it went down from 100 to less than 5 in 8 days!! Last time, once I made it to 78 I still had 3.5 weeks before it went to less than 5!!!

Im already on BCP. So will probably start Lupron next week or the following week....

Oh and as for the injection I'm a little scare. My mom has an hematologist friend and that friend didn't like that I was subscribed that. But I'm thinking maybe because she's not aware about this experimental treatment.

Everyone here mentions dr B from NY when talking about immunology and he's all about that injection....

so I'm hoping enough research was done and that it will not risk me or the baby!

AFM: today brings me to 3mg 2x a day and then its time for bw/US come friday...should be an interesting week...I think once I take my first PIO shot it will start to feel real! I'm nervous and it doesn't feel real that i'm getting there and up to this part!
I did buy some Brazilian nuts and ate avocado. Get some healthy fats into my body!

Is eating spicy food bad? Had too much buffalo dressing on my salad!!

AND yet again I forgot to take my estrace on time - what the hell is wrong with me! I'm much better at stemming then taking pills!

prudence9-2 i hate that your beta had to be negative but glad its not 3 weeks and you're ready to go!! It sucks but here's looking ahead!!

I can't believe u only have 3 months left and we're still at the starting line! We're still gonna be bump buddies before that prince makes his debut!!! I think lots of babies are night owls...watch mine will be a morning baby haaaaaaa!!!!

@Hopeful_mom you should set calendar events on your phone for taking pills. That's what I do... sometimes there's so much to take and on different hours that the calendar alerts is the only way I won't miss taking a pill.

prudence9-2 i totally did that! I tell people to do that BUT the one at night isn't working right. I think I just need to go back to the alarm clock and call it a day. I feel like that one really works the best!

@hopeful_mom check that you have alerts at time of event and/or 30 minutes before. I usually do two alerts per pill/injection. To make sure I don't forget haha.

Hi,
My students don't really notice/ care...lol. I teach kids with autism. One student, whose mom is also pregnant, commented something like, "there's really a baby in there" or something lol. I've had these kids for 5-6 years...it's insane. My work is stressing me out because they always wrap me into these special ed. lawsuits and it's a long story, but I am stressed, which isn't good. I'm not anymore tired than usual yet, but I'm sure that will change. I am normal-tired for the fact that I don't get great sleep. My biggest issues are swelling and this rash that is probably PUPPS. I take claritin, which helps. My ankles were soooo swollen...shoes barely fit. They're a little better now that it's cooling down outside some. My hands are swollen too...can't wear rings and numbness in fingers...dr. said it's carpel tunnel, which is common in pregnancy. I hope we all get to be bump buddies too!!

@prudence9-2 -the injection is scary and the fact that it is experimental. are you definitely doing it or still researching/ debating? I am happy that you don't have to wait a torturous three weeks for your beta to go down.

@hopeful_mom -you are getting so close!!! when is the transfer? i'm sure PIO does make it more real, but I hate PIO! good luck with it! I hear massaging the injection site after helps the oil spread evenly and not cause as much welting.

seems like this injection is used by all the immune doctors that everyone is talking about. I can see on the web that people have been using it from at least 2010 for IVF purposes.

My RE would not prescribe me predisone which I see sooooo many women on here are on. Because she doesn't feel good about the short/long term effects of it. So I'm hoping that she feels better about this. Even though, there is an hypothetical risk of leukemia.

Had a saline sonogram today. To make sure I don't have any embryo leftovers like last m/c... and then it pushed my transfer by another 2 months.

Anyway, all clear. And will probably start with Lupron on Monday.

AFM... been having pains last night and overnight from the saline sonogram. Got up in the middle of the night to take pain meds.... it's still painful now even though I'm suppose to still be under the influence of the pain meds. Ahhh. Had saline sonogram before my IVF last year and don't remember any pains.

Having issues getting the lupron. Hope it will get resolved. Because I need to start taking it on Monday!

AFM: So I worked sooooo late that I was late to my monitoring this am and my blood work won't come through till tomorrow...lets hope its on point at my lining is at an 8 woohoo...apparently I hear over a 7 is where they want you to be...so hoping things continue moving in the right direction and looks like next friday will be baby transfer day

@prudence9-2 -thanks for thinking of me! I'm okay...I feel lucky to have a baby growing in me, so I will take the uncomfortableness. The uncomfortableness does get worse as time progresses...today my back began hurting pretty bad all afternoon. I just wanted to come home to lie down. It's also worse at night--getting up to pee after lying down my whole body aches! Crazy watching your body change. Anyway, did you say that the saline sonogram put you back two months, or that the last one put you back two months? Is that the same as the dye injection? I think I got that...it did hurt. They like blow your uterus up like a balloon? Hope you're feeling better. Will you take the neupogen injection daily? Still scary, but glad they've been using it for awhile, but still 2010 isn't that long to see long-term effects. Interesting that the dr. is worried about the predisone side effects, but not the neupogen. Although, if you take it from 2.5 weeks to 9 weeks then if immune issues are the problem, it seems to get you past the window where you've been miscarrying. I hope it works!

@hopeful_mom -thanks...I don't feel like a special person with my job lol because I am so tired of the same students...you're not supposed to have them for 6 years...it's a mistake in the district, and it's very frustrating. also, some of the parents are so crazy. I cannot believe I am almost there either!! I feel like I've been pregnant forever since we find out so early, so I am starting to be ready!!! That, and I can't believe I will continue to get bigger! One parent today asked me if it's twins lol. My bump just keeps growing!!!! I am so excited that your transfer is probably in a week! your lining is an 8?

@hopeful_mom it's not as painful now. But I can still feel it. @LoveDontCostAThing yes it's the one with the dye and the balloon. I did it before and wasn't painful. It was okay this time around and became painful few hours later!!

My 2 months wait was last time. We started FET prep and then they agreed to biopsy me and found out I still have pieces of embryo in me. So we stopped FET, did the hystroscopy, antibiotics. And finally the FET was 2 months later.

I think my Lupron was finally approved. I'll see if I get it tomorrow. But to be honest, I think I was suppose to pay it OOP. Because I think I'm out of my lifetime max. I have an appt to talk with the finance dept of my clinic on Thurs. so hopefully I still have some. Otherwise I will pay more for Lupron because they always charge the insurance for 1.5-2 times more. So if you opt for insurance and then insurance don't pay you need to pay the insurance amount.

Still need to find out how much neupogen is. I have a feeling it's expensive. Oh well. I stopped thinking about how much money I spend long time ago.

Crazy that your bump is so big. And it will just continue growing now that you're in 3rd trimester. I can't wait to feel uncomfortable too!!! I'm super small. So I think I'll get uncomfortable very early on. (I'm not even 100 pounds).

Next weekend I'm flying to NYC. So I'll have to take ice packs for the Lupron. I could have started Lupron the following week. But every week that I wait seems wasteful in my age.

And @Hopeful_mom yes, they are usually happy with 7 and above. So you're good

and it does make me feel better that my dr won't put me on prednisone because of long term effects but feels comfortable enough to offer me neupogen. Still kinda scary. But I'll go for it

@LoveDontCostAThing first off you do not look like you're carrying twins u look adorable, some people seriously!! It is odd you have the same kids 6yrs already usually they dont like teachers to have students longer then 3/4 years i think. BUT Your circumstances are different too.

prudence9-2 you really are so tiny, I'm hoping you're on the shorter side too then?? Sometimes they say its tougher underweight to get pregnant too...but I think thats naturally, what do know. I'm 2 of you

Glad you're feeling better and hoping your trip to NY will be a nice distraction for you! Still have to ask my RE about the neupogen.

AFM: Finally heard from the dr and I have to go back in for monitoring tomorrow

My E2 is 172 and it needs to be at 200 so we shall see what tomorrow brings....it's always something...

The one day I can finally sleep, it never fails!

My RE that is doing the transfer is due at the end of sept so we shall see if her pnut stays put or not. I'm nervous enough and the thought of a new RE doing a transfer will flip me out! Granted one other RE did my fresh transfer so I guess I would trust him to do it...lets hope he's the one working!!
