  • Month/Cycle: 9/9

    CD/DPO: 21/8

    Timing: -1

    Typical LP Length: 12-15

Testing: nope. I already feel out so just WFAF.

R/R: First work day after a long weekend... I have a lot I need to get done today too since I signed up for leadership training the next two days! This week is going to fly by, but I have deadlines fast approaching so I need to get my head in the game. Yesterday morning I was so hopeful about this cycle and this morning I feel the complete opposite. I think it's because I had red spotting last night which usually is my first pre-AF symptom.

    CS/Q:

GTKY: If you could be any fictional character (book, movie, or TV) who would you want to be and why?

Um? This is hard for me. I'm not very creative or imaginative so I don't really picture myself as a fictional character if that makes sense?

R/R: My temp dropped just a bit this morning. I so hope that means AF is on the way. Maybe tomorrow? I'm ready to move on to the next cycle, and get some better timing. I've picked up a few of the "after dark" suggestions, and i'm hoping that will help!

CS/Q: Link in siggy if you wanna stalk it

GTKY: If you could be any fictional character (book, movie, or TV) who would you want to be and why?
This one is hard. I have no clue really...I'll just go with my favorite Disney princess, Belle because as a girl I always wanted to be her :)

  • Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD/DPO: 17/5

    Timing: -2, -1, O

    Typical LP Length: 14 days

Testing: Not unless AF pulls a no show

R/R: First day back at work after vacation, trying to wash my hair with busted finger, can't do normal gym work out, DH started sailing today......all the rants! But PSL and I ordered myself new boots online. So this clearly demonstrates the accuracy of the GTKY the other day. Retail therapy and treats is where its at!!

CS/Q: spike today, but I think it was climate related more than anything else.

GTKY: If you could be any fictional character (book, movie, or TV) who would you want to be and why? Hmm....so many options. Maybe Angelina Jolie in "Mr and Mrs Smith" she is pretty badass in that. Or Julie Roberts in "Step mom". That movie always pulls the heart somewhat and rings close to home.

  • @MrsMiller8588 I hear you. I also need to get my head back in the game here. It is tough this week. But a busy week is a good week. And not to feed to SS-crazy, but maybe that spotting is something else? Still hopeful! FX
@josie12367 There were definitely some great "after dark" ideas this week. I may be adding a couple to my game plan. Certainly can't hurt spicing things up! FX that you get to try something new soon.
  • @MrsMiller8588 Sorry about the spotting. Leadership training sounds interesting. What line of work are you in?
@josie12367 I love Belle! I haven't seen the live action Beauty and the Beast yet. What did you think? Is it worth watching?

    Month/Cycle: 7/6

    CD/DPO: 20/6

    Timing: -3, -2, -1

    Typical LP Length: 13 days

Testing: Not until the weekend, or later if I can hold out!

R/R: Getting ready for school to start! I've got my classes mostly prepped, for the first few weeks at least. I'm looking forward to meeting my latest batch of students and hoping I can make this class more interesting than it was last fall when I taught it! Last year was my first year teaching at the university level, so hopefully I'll be better at it this time around. :)

CS/Q: I actually do have a question today! I'm meeting with my ob/gyn on Thursday morning because I'm over 35 and we've been ttc unsuccessfully for six months (plus one month NTNP, that I don't count on here). What kind of next steps should I expect and/or ask for? Chart is also below for stalking.

GTKY: If you could be any fictional character (book, movie, or TV) who would you want to be and why?
Am I the only one who imagines myself in whatever book I'm reading? I would want to be Elizabeth Bennett in Pride and Prejudice. I love that world and the characters in it.

    Timing: -5 -3 -2 -1 O +1

    Typical LP Length: 14

Testing: broke down, all bfn, I will wait at least 3 more days

R/R: starting PT for my hip, and I kind of hate PT (I've done it for my knees), so this should be fun.

    CS/Q: not much to see

GTKY: If you could be any fictional character (book, movie, or TV) who would you want to be and why? I don't think I would want to be a character, but I would love to live in a few fictional worlds Harry potter, Tolkien, in the league of the Pink Carnation (books by Lauren Willig), in the Xmen

@MrsMiller8588 that sucks about the pre AF spotting, but you are still early, so maybe there is hope?

@josie12367 I totally understand just wanting to get AF over with and start a new cycle fresh.

@nitnat007 there's nothing wrong with a little retail therapy!

@darkstar42  I, too, love Jane Austen and Lizzy Bennett! If you are looking for an easy and funny read that fits that a bit, the Pink Carnation series is one of my favorite (Jane Austen even makes a cameo as a supporting character in one of them).

  • @nitnat007 and @MrsBunz  I wish I could be hopeful about it but it's seriously every month... I know it's early, but for reference last month I spotted 5-11 dpo... it's ridiculous. I did go in to get my progesterone checked again today but last time it came back normal so far no I have no idea what causes my spotting.

@darkstar42 I do environmental work for an oil and gas midstream company. I have no idea why I was invited to leadership training since I am not a supervisor or anything, but hey sounds interesting and gets me away from my desk for two days!

    M/C: 1/1

    CD/DPO: 22/8

    LP length: dunno

Testing: I ordered a Wondfo's combo pack of OPK's and HPT and some FRER on Amazon last week and since they came I have been fighting the urge to POAS. I also cant decide because obvi it would be better to use the cheapies when I don't think I am KU and testing really early but the FRER would be more sensitive. Regardless I'm trying to hold out until Sunday which would be 13 dpo and one day before AF

R/R: no real rants today other than I should get my butt back to work! Rave-all the excitement for fall!

  • @MrsMiller8588Sorry you're already feeling out...I HATE that feeling. I hope you're wrong, and the spotting means nothing. Good luck on the leadership training! I'm in school for a management degree, so that sounds like fun :)

@nitnat007 YASSSS for new boots boots! I'm obsessed with them...I hope they come quickly so you can rock them! And double YAS for Angelina and Brad Pitt in that movie. So.Much.Chemistry! Maybe naughty stuff for your next retail splurge??!

@darkstar42 I thought it was just okay personally. My biggest issue is that they didn't try to make it slightly new, or different. It went word for word almost. I much preferred how they did the real Cinderella, and altered at least the storyline slightly. It felt fresh...I am obsessed with B&TB, so I wish they would've done the same to it. It's worth seeing at least once...As far as the OB visit. With me they ordered a bunch of labs, ordered an ultrasound, and did a pelvic exam/pap since I was due. We then just talked mostly. Once the standard stuff comes back you'll go from there...maybe an HSG for you and an SA for hubs...though they may order that one right away.

PS: I love me some Mr. Darcy....good pick!

@MrsBunz Thanks for the book recommendation! I love me some P&P! Hope your PT helps!

@ChloandCoco I'm with you on the worn out uterus! I've been cramping for days. It sucks...it needs to end!

@canucklehead123 Where did y'all go for your holiday? High fives for being Disney Princesses!

@krashke Break that bath bomb out now! I love those things. I have a huge combo pack of OPK's with a few HPTs in my basket right now. I'm waiting for the scarlett devil to show before ordering though out of naive hopeless optimism! Haha! I save my FRER's for really late in the cycle, because then I KNOW i'm not KTFU, and their so expensive! Pee on all the cheapies though!

@ajsanders-2 FF was wrong with my CHs this chart....so we also had craptastic timing. Hopefully she's wrong about yours too and your timing is better than you thought :)

@MrsBunz Sorry for the BFN. I’ve never heard of the Pink Carnation series! I’m going to have to check that out. Thanks for the recommendation!

@ChloandCoco Sorry about the cramps. That’s no fun at all. Love Hermione. Living the the Harry Potter world would be pretty awesome.

@canucklehead123 Thanks for the feedback on Beauty and the Beast! I just got in to work and saw a poster for a Beauty and the Beast movie night on campus for students. Maybe I’ll crash that.

@MrsMiller8588 That sounds like fascinating work! Have fun at the leadership training!

@krashke I say hold out and/or use the wondfos. It just gets too expensive with the FRERs!

@ajsanders-2 Glad you had such a great weekend!

  • @josie12367 Thank you so much for the info on the ob/gyn appointment! That's incredibly helpful. MH has already had the SA, so I'll be bringing those results with me, and I had a pelvic exam/pap in February, so I'm all caught up there. Also, I didn't know you were going for a management degree. That's so cool! Is there a particular industry you want to work in once you graduate?

  • @darkstar42 When I had my appointment a month ago it was with a new Dr so the first part was just with the nurse and going over my history, why I was there, etc. When the Dr came in it was just talking and she just went over the typical testing and treatment, what she was looking for and why. Obviously she didn't have results back yet and our plan has changed since the SA results came back so poor. The nurse scheduled all of my testing for my next cycle and I was completely set up to start treatment the cycle after. I was actually really impressed by how fast everything moved. Granted I'm back in a holding pattern while we figure things out with DH.

AFM - my nurse called and my progesterone came back normal. She said it showed "strong ovulation" so that definitely means my spotting is NOT caused by a drop off in progesterone. It's reassuring to get it checked after I've already had spotting this cycle. I don't know how I feel now. BSC because maybe for once spotting is good? But I also don't want to get my hopes up..

*Possible TW* telling DH when you're KU
I have been debating ordering something to tell DH when I am KU. I don't think I will tell him when I test because I don't want him to get disappointed with BFN's and I think it would be cute to get something from etsy (I've been looking at beer bottle labels or funny cards) and obviously that needs to be ordered in advance. I don't want to jinx myself by ordering something.

Can someone please talk me off of the BSC ledge?

@krashke I have had the same thought myself and then have decided against it. A) I am not good at keeping secrets so would likely end up telling him before the time came, and B ) I am so hella superstitious about stuff like this that I would be paranoid that I am jinxing myself.  Cos that would be the reason I don't get a BFP. Total logic right?! NOT! BSC right here.

@tamalahoops Welcome back to the dailies. And such great timing!

ETA....that was not supposed to be a B) emoji.
  • TW @krashke
MH and I like to do all our big moments low key, he proposed in his family's meat market parking lot before we headed to a family BBQ, so when it came time to telling him about my PG with DS and with my loss, I just came out with an obviously positive test and asked, "do you see a line there?"  To tell our parents about DS, I made a onesie for my nephew that said "my aunt has my cousin in the oven," wrapped it, wrote a note that said, "Max, open this when Anut Lolly tells you to," and mailed it with the rest of my family's Christmas presents. We ended up getting our BFP on Christmas Day, so while on skype with them, I told my sister to help Max open the special present, and the whole family read it together. My sister left baby shoes on my BIL key hook with their first MC, then made him a cake that looked like a tennis ball that said "way to hit a grand slam, Daddy" (my BIL is a HS tennis coach and tennis pro in the summer).

  • @krashke I definitely bought something 5 months ago. *TW* it was the month after my CP and I was so hopeful I would get KU right away after that. /TW If you don't get KU right away and having something around that only you know about will make you sad, don't do it. If it's something that will give you hope and happy thoughts of the future, do it.

    @tamalahoops  Welcome back! Awesome timing!!

@darkstar42 To piggy back off tamalahoops, I did CD3 bloodwork, HSG, and CD21 progesterone all during a testing cycle. I did not do an ultrasound, but my drs reasoning was that I will get one at the beginning of my treatment cycle (which was supposed to be the next cycle) so there was no reason to do an "extra one".

  • @MrsMiller8588 Thank you so much for the info! That’s really helpful just to hear how things played out for you. And if I haven’t said this elsewhere, I’m sorry you got bad news with the SA.

@tamalahoops I really appreciate the list of tests I should ask for! At this point I’m feeling overwhelmed, so I’m not even sure what my questions are, but I’ll do more research tonight and tomorrow and definitely follow your suggestion to bring a list of questions with me.

@krashke don't buy the stuff. Don't look at the stuff. Don't pass go don't collect $200.

I bought a onesie that I inevitably dug out and sobbed over with every bfn. It was dramatic and stupid and pointless. TW (bfp and loss mentioned)
When I finally got my bfp my husband was the one that read the test. I didn't need the dumb onesie. Just buy a digital, pee on it and then do something cute with the test.

  • @gimmiethebump enjoy your two days off and the wedding planning. So much fun.
On Mucinex, it helps increase CM. I've used it personally, and I believe it has definitely helped me. However, I have only tried it for two cycles.
  • @nitnat007 Thank you!! How much, how often and how many days before and after ovulating did you take the Mucinex?
  • @gimmiethebump I start taking it about 4-5 days before anticipated ovulation and stop once I have O'ed. I found the tablet form and take 600mg  twice a day. Just make sure that Guaifenesin is the only ingredient. You need an expectorant, not a suppressant as that will have the revere effect on CM.
  • @krashke I won't lie, I have gathered a few things here and there for DH. Mostly Star Wars baby books and a Darth Vader "I Am the Father" shirt I found on sale (obviously he's a Star Wars fan). I try to think of them as future Christmas/BDay/Valentine's presents though because Lord knows if we ever get a sticky bean I will be too excited to fish them out and wrap them before telling H.
