I watched the season finale of Twin Peaks: The Return last night. OMG. I know the ending can stand on its own but it leaves me hungry for another season! I seriously doubt there will be any other seasons though
Between "senioritis" (which I'm far too old for), having a lighter courseload than past semesters, and being utterly obsessed with my own pregnancy, it's so hard to turn and keep my focus on schoolwork. (My work ethic could be better too, but it's easier to focus when I'm in the thick of work.)
Like, it just took me a full 45 minutes sit up in bed and get my reading loaded up because I discovered while laying down that I could see the thumps in my stomach when the baby makes a big movement. It was a very pleasant moment for me, but jeeeeeez I have work to do. And once the rest of my classes start at the end of the month, I'm not gonna have time to be this lackadaisical.
I want another season too @Williams-jen! Hoping and praying over here. I don't want to wait another 25 years for more. Besides the fact that the master David Lynch would probably be dead. Wahhhhhhhh.
DS seems to be warming up to the idea of a baby and it's giving me feels. We're in the midst of potty training so how his pants fit (and whether or not he can get them off by himself) is a hot issue at the moment. He's pretty much grown out of 3T's but there's still a bunch in his drawers, and last night we agreed that he was too big for the pair he was wearing. He said "maybe baby brother can wear them!" which started a conversation of how small bb is going to be, and I ended up pulling out the newborn sleep & play that he wore home from the hospital.
I had my anatomy scan this morning and she wouldn't roll over from her stomach so I have to have another scan in 4 weeks so they can actually look at the heart. I'm partially excited because it means seeing her again but I'm also kind of frustrated because I just want to know that everything is good. Bleh.
Hoping this week flies by. Today is my first day back from vacation and I was gone half the morning for my appointment. I have so much to catch up on even though I worked half the time I was gone and my computer will not cooperate today!
My SO owns a business and has had a phenomenal year. Before we found out I was pregnant, he promised a trip for his employees (and his parents-his mom does his books) to Mexico. He booked the trip yesterday... without me!! Technically I could probably go because I would only be 30 weeks.. but no thanks, I don't want to take the risk of having complications or delivering a baby in Mexico. I'm not mad he's going but, of course, just a little jealous and maybe disappointed. He has been amazingly supportive otherwise, and I will just plan to spend that time nesting and working on the nursery. He promised to leave his credit card - so while he's laying on a beach, I'll be shopping
@gusgus14 similar thing with my AS, hoping your week goes quickly! @ReadytoRun77 I would be jealous and a little upset too, hope you will get to enjoy the time on the nursery
Last day of vacation for me and I'm trying to be productive- working on our registry, doing laundry and putting together a scrapbook. At least the 2 hour nap I just took was well deserved
We did a sex reveal with my 1 niece and 3 nephews this weekend, they are all siblings. My niece is ecstatic that we are having a girl and spent about an hour celebrating and hugging us after the reveal. She thinks we should name her Susan. My nephews are not as excited. My youngest nephew is 4 and he told me very seriously, "I hate baby girls. I'm not coming to your house anymore." He also thinks knucklehead is a good name for a girl baby. It was so funny and I'm still laughing about it today.
I ordered a breast pump from Aeroflow about 2 weeks ago. Last week it arrived and is now sitting in baby's room waiting for his arrival. I just go home from work today to see another package from Aeroflow. I opened it and found 6 free pump bottles inside. Needless to say, I am pretty ecstatic as the pump I got only came with 2 bottles, so now I won't have to buy extra!
@darkrose88 I worked with Aeroflow last time, and this time. Last time was so great and amazing. I can't wait to get mine this time, I ordered the Spectra S1. I have to wait till my OB fills out the prescription or September 28th without a prescription and then it will be sent.
DS was in a bit of a mood tonight, apparently. Can't blame him. He had a full day with his first session of preschool mixed into daycare, and no nap to boot. But I was trying to play with him after dinner tonight and he was just not engaging with me. I asked him if he even wanted to play. He shook his head and said, "Mommy, my friends are my best friends, and you're not one of them." Ouch, kiddo.
I didn't see a post for the appointment thread this week, and I really don't care to start it and this is not a complaint about it. haha. I have my AS tomorrow and I'll be so happy to see that it's a girl so I can continue shopping. There is a little part of me that still doesn't believe it. haha
@supercoolstephy - I felt the same way at our AS yesterday! I was so relieved when the tech said it was a girl even though we had already found out at an elective u/s at 16 weeks. Not because I don't want a boy but because I've done so much girl specific shopping.
Anyone have any sources for semi-formal 3rd tri dresses? My brother is getting married at the end of October and I can't find anything I like. I've looked at Motherhood, A Pea in a Pod, Pink Blush, Target, Gap, Nordstrom, Macy's, H&M, and Asos.
My husband had started having pregnancy/birth dreams.... He said he dreamed it was time to have the baby so a nurse from the doctor's office was driving us to the hospital, but she stopped at the grocery store and left us in the car. I got tired of waiting so I put the car in neutral and coasted down to the hospital. Then the police showed up and I got charged with driving a stolen vehicle, so as punishment they weren't going to let DH be there when the baby was born and then I'd have to go to jail for a year.
If you're like me, and don't like to spend over $50 on a dress, check out these sites...they are my go-to's! They don't have a lot of solid colors, and they're not "maternity" sites, but a lot of their dresses work for pregnant bellies! I got my shower dress from Poppy and Dot for my last pregnancy and I LOVED it. https://wrenandivory.com/collections/dresses-skirts https://www.poppyanddot.com/collections/dresses
DH got to feel our son move for the first time today! I've been seriously dying for him to feel baby move, and the experience lived up to my expectations.
We were going to wait until November to purchase a car seat at a local promotion... but I was worried we'd be limited to an ugly selection based on what's currently in stock.
Teal deer: just bought a car seat and extra base on Amazon.
@gusgus14 You might try Rent the Runway maternity!!
My random for the week is that I'm doing ALL of the nesting. We had our entire upstairs painted and now I am so excited to go through closets and take stuff to charity, reorganize things, work on prepping baby's room, finish painting this free piece of furniture we got for our dining room, and switching over wardrobes for fall/winter. I am way too excited about this....
@gusgus14 I haven't tried it but a search just turned up MineForNine.com. Looks like they have a ton of maternity evening dresses (in addition to regular maternity clothes) to rent or buy.
Just ordered Hypnobabies self-study course! Things are getting real. Deal ends tonight (20% off) for anyone who wasn't aware yet - promo code birthingday2017.
@darkrose88 that happened for DH and me on Monday night! He was so certain he wouldn't feel it yet, and I made him give it a shot. It was so cool. His jaw literally dropped and he was completely amazed.
Re: Randoms Week of 9/4
Also, that GIF just reminds me of how much I love The Lonely Island and Andy Samberg. I wonder when Brooklyn 99 comes back on.
