To update my celiac post, they sent off blood work testing for celiac, anemia and are checking my thyroid and she is having me go gluten free for at least a month even if I have a negative on the test to check for a sensitivity that may not be celiac.
gluten is sneaky. I cook for a church kids day camp and we have to be super careful with the celiac kids's plates. Even something listed as "natural flavor" can containing gluten. Best wishes to you and I really hope this helps you solve some long term issues!

Any celiac sufferers here? My aunt just was diagnosed and in talking to her it sounds like I suffer from all the major symptoms, and it runs in families. I'm going to call to set up a blood screening. Hopefully this explains my stomach issues
My boss, whom I'm actually super close with, has celiac disease (her daughter was just diagnosed recently as well after months of awful stomach issues). I can remember one time, after getting little sleep so she wasn't mentally all there, she made her kids their sandwiches before school and used the same knife on her gluten-free sandwich without thinking. She was out of office for about 3 days trying to recover. That's all it took!
@vintagevix2016 So, I just found out from my aunt that there is an amazing wholesale bakehouse in our town that is completely gluten free. The lady who owns it is celiac. I was reading on their site that they distribute to Canada as well, so maybe it is something your boss would enjoy. I guess the bagels are out of this world!!!! Duh, I forgot to add that they are called Canyon Bakehouse. https://canyonglutenfree.com
I just looked ahead to the next/last developmental leap around 18 months. Hoo boy... it looks like a doosy. Developing a conscience, understanding time, starting to use manipulation tactics, wanting to do things themselves. I'm so not ready for all that.

18 months is a game changer. They often start putting more words together around that time too. It's hard, but a lot of things become so much easier too as they are able to physically do more, and better understand instructions

Lord help me because Savannah already wants to do everything herself and is totally manipulating us already
I have no idea why I'm sharing that but it just hit me how weird that sounds. We eloped in Costa Rica and his outfit was made from linen. He loved the pants so much because of how comfortable they are that he opted to continue wearing them as pajamas. To bad my wedding dress isn't as versatile!
I've been sitting at work for 4 hours and not a single student has come into the library! The only other employee here is not very friendly, I've already applied for 6 jobs, read the news, taken half a dozen walks around, and I just finished my book. I'm only half way through my shift. Anyone have something interesting going on today? Entertain me
@AmberLiz99 here's a funny story from this morning!
I'm cleaning off the kitchen counter and start opening some mail that's been piling up. I tear open one letter and it's a spectrum bill for $357.51 and states the balance is overdue and they're sending it to collections.
I text my husband and I'm like "omg. Wtf. We owe a lot of money. What's happening!?" Then I look a little closer and notice it belongs to our neighbor. Oops.
Dear neighbors: y'all might want to pay your bill before it goes to collections. Sorry for opening your mail on accident

Yikes!
We got 3 packages once left at our door. One of them was actually for the neighbor, but of course I didn't realize it till I had opened it up. Luckily we had packaging tape.
Well it is the middle of the night and I am awake because my getting larger belly is sore and I guess my tummy feeling not so hot was because I was hungry?! Had 6 saltines and water, but now I am just AWAKE. Grr I kind of forgot about pregnancy insomnia. Also the new little one has been doing a happy dance in my belly for the last 45 minutes... Probably didn't/doesn't help. It's been awhile since I have been awake in the middle of the night so I thought I would post.
Just dropped off my little boy for the first day of first grade. How is he so old! I have to work this afternoon, so don't get to be there at pick up. I'm kind of heart broken about that. I hope he has a great first day
@egirl1025 Hopefully you aren't up 5 times a night to pee yet. Warm drink and a boring book next time! Hopefully the baby movements are still fresh enough to appreciate at least
@AmberLiz99 He's so big!! Maybe he can video chat with you whenever he gets home from school so that the first day excitement is still fresh

@artlea2013 I remember a story circulating about a Dad that did a "1st day of school" video interview with his daughter every year from the time she first started school through her Senior year of high school. It was a really cool video compilation!

Update to the update: Still waiting on actual results from the celiac test. Stupid lab. The anemia and thyroid results were normal which is great. I have removed gluten from my diet as of Thursday, with the exception of a soft pretzels, stupid husband... And I feel better, less bloated for sure, and I think my face looks thinner. If it comes back that I am not celiac I am definitely going to stay gluten free, I am shocked to see results so fast!
Has anyone changed their emergency plan/preparation since having kids? We're not expected to be directly impacted by Irma, but it could still do something crazy. We have friends and friends of friends in TX, FL, and the Caribbean that I've seen making preparations over the last couple weeks and it makes me worry about my own hurricane plans. I'm planning to pick up some canned food and bottles of water this weekend either way.

I need to update our 72 hour kits, and make sure that I have diapers included in there. I'm not as good as I should be at replacing and rotating items for my emergency storage. We won't be affected by this storm, but I try to have them all the time because who knows...
I just mentioned to my husband that we should make a 72hr kit for Damien after Friday night's chaos. He rolled his eyes when I said we needed kits too (as well as one for the dog). Anyway, I'll probably start working on that in the next week or so. Our biggest concern regarding natural disaster is a bad winter storm so that's what I'm planning for, but will update the kits as the seasons change.
Yeah, it's hurricane season now and in spring we had some crazy storms and tornado watches. The hardest part is worrying about what I'd do if something happened while I was at work and Jackie was at daycare.

That's one of the reasons we went with our current daycare, it's literally next to my office building (and car) so I can get him asap if needed. I got lucky in that sense. I do worry about that though, getting to him and to my husband if something should happen. We used to have a game plan for a meet-up spot in the event of an emergency but we haven't updated it since my office moved and Damien was born.
We won't be affected, but I made sure that we had diapers, wipes, dog food, bottled water and plenty of food that doesn't need to be refrigerated for Savannah.
Just bought a case of water, a first aid kit and some canned food to make myself feel better about not having a true emergency kit. I might add to it this weekend depending on the way the storm turns.

My grandpa passed away yesterday. I'm honestly glad he went in his sleep. He's been suffering and watching a loved one die a slow, painful death is awful. I'm glad he's at peace.

Ok Celiac panel negative but I called the GI specialist to set up a consultation.
