And thanks for the well wishes everyone! Having a child with significant health needs does a number on ones anxiety and ability to live in the moment with a current pregnancy.
KD5624 That must be really difficult. Hopefully a smooth appointment will put you at ease. Is there any way you can treat and pamper yourself this week to relieve a bit of stress? I always go for the expensive chocolate or a fancy frozen drink!

Thanks- I'm actually going to mommycon in Orlando this weekend and I'm going to treat myself to a new carrier for DS. I might even get to spend some time by the pool.
I had my first appointment today! It was completely uneventful because it's so early on. But I was booked for my first ultrasound on Oct 10 (which feels like it's years away) and will be going back every 3 weeks for a check in.
My doctor's office doesn't see you until between 8-10 weeks. The first appointment is 10/2 I'll be almost 10 weeks. My old OB saw me at 6 weeks. I hate waiting this long!

My first appointment is September 12. I'll be 6.5 weeks. I'm looking forward to seeing my midwife, same one as with my first pregnancy and birth, but it's so early it almost seems like a waste of time! Last time I didn't have an appointment until 8 weeks and still nothing happened
I left a message with the appointment service this morning and haven't heard back yet. It's right before the holiday weekend so I'm trying to not call back same day and leave another one and be labeled "that woman" before I even go! Lol
My first appt is 10/3. My new OB office waits till 8-10 weeks for first appt. First one is an ultrasound and exam with a midwife. After that I will meet with my new OB. I switched offices due to my desire to deliver at a different hospital than last time around. Last practice had me rotate through all the midwives. This practice will have me meet with the same OB throughout. A change for sure!
I had my first ultrasound 8/29. My OB wanted to see me because I was having side cramps and she was afraid I may be having an eptopic pregnancy. The baby sac is where it needs to be! I have another apt 9/12 in hopes of seeing baby wig and also hearing the heart beat! Good luck strawberryanne!
I have an ultrasound through the fertility clinic at 8 weeks, which will be on September 26. So excited to hear the heartbeat! I think it will really help me relax if that goes well. That's my last contact with that clinic; after that if I do it through our family doctor the first appointment in at 10 weeks, so Oct 10, but I'm on the waiting list for the midwives through our hospital. Really hoping that will pan out. They said I'll hear in 3-4 weeks.
Had my first appt today with the NP. Because it wasn't clear on when I conceived (I've only had one PP period since weaning my daughter in June and I guess it extended what used to be my 28 day on the dot cycle), she did a quick US and it looks like we are 6 weeks along and going back in 2 weeks for another US and to hopefully see the heartbeat. There was a yolksac and she said that's what she was looking for and said all looked good. EDD is May 1(ish)
I have my first appointment on September 25. I will be 6W 2D. It is only with the nurse but I am so excited because I thought I would have to wait until October.
My first appointment is the "confirmatory" with the nurse practitioner on 9/26. The woman told me that they schedule it between 6 and 8 weeks and the next appointment after that would be the long one; around 12 weeks. I haven't asked yet but I'm a little bummed because I feel like that means they don't do a scan until 12 weeks and I would love the reassurance that things are going well before then.
First appointment with my OB is on October 4! They like to schedule around 8 weeks and I'll be just over that. This visit includes a confirmation sono and then a larger meeting with the nurse. I hope the next 4 weeks fly by!

@ccvslp you should definitely check with your office. If you're having spotting, pain, don't know when your LMP is, have a history of losses, some will be willing to do an ultrasound earlier than normal. GL!

Thanks for the advice, @sandbar517... I had one small instance of spotting yesterday morning but that was it so far. I do plan to call and ask and then check back in if it happens again, though! It's so hard to advicate sometimes and feel like it's okay and you aren't being a pain.
someday I won't have to immediately edit for typos.
@ccvslp I totally get it. I plan on doing anything I have to, beg, borrow or steal something to get an early ultrasound and make sure there's only one in there this time!!

I had a quick update info/start beta draws appointment Tuesday and again today. First ultrasound and intake appointment is on 9/27

I switched providers today and have my first boring appt 9/18. I've spotted again today but it's TOTALLY (TMI coming) tied to when I poop. So that's fun. I found out the practice I was considering doesn't do any ultrasounds until 20w so I bailed in favor of a more "involved" practice that was recommended to me, figuring that with my anxiety and all of these symptoms, that will make me feel better and be better for me.
Well, my betas have doubled so I'm now scheduled for a confirmation ultrasound on 9/25, I'll be 8w4d at that point. After the U/S I will meet with one of the midwives. At this practice they have you meet all of the providers before choosing someone. Wish it was sooner but at the same time don't want to freak myself out with an early scan. So excited!
We had our appointment today and got to see our squish and see it's heartbeat! It makes it feel a little more real. We are still nervously excited, ha. We also got a referral to MFM and genetics. We go back in two weeks for another US!
I'm waiting to hear back from my drs office for my appointment. They aim for 7-9 weeks, but I dont know when my last cycle was so will be interesting to see how they figure that out lol. I imagine they will also do an ultrasound at that one for the same reason. This is a new OB for me since we moved between having DD and now, so not familiar with their process.
im not thrilled we have to jump through extra hoops, but I am excited to see the squish a little more via ultrasound and know that we will be much more informed this time around!
FINALLY got my appointment scheduled! Apparently this practice does one at 7 weeks with the NP and then another 2-3 weeks later wth the dr. Ultrasound will be at the second appointment the second week of October. Feels soooo far away!!
I know it seems like a long wait but that's completely normal. 2st visits are with NPs or midlevels. 1st doc appt isnt until over 8 or 9 weeks. Hang in there. Praying for patience! I'm right there with ya.
My first appt was last week and it was just a big round of blood work and making plans. Since DD #2 had congenital issues we got a bunch of baseline labs and talked about the planned csection blah blah blah!
