April 2018 Moms

My toddler is crying because....

-I accidentally called her by her given name instead of Cinderella
-her prince charming hit his head, got lost in the forest and she can't find him (girl you've got YEARS to worry about that one)
-she thinks her poop is ugly and doesn't like the way it looks

  • @kmalls love it when they directly disobey you, something bad happens to them because of it, and then they get mad at you because it's somehow all your fault. Lovely, lovely little creatures!

  • I hurt his feelings because I put the wrong flavored toothpaste on his toothbrush (it didn't even make it to his mouth).
Yes that is a very serious offense in our house too. *eyeroll*

  • Because I walked the wrong way around the couch.
  • Random question ill post here... is anyones kids acting differently now that you are pregnant? my DD has been extra clingy and cuddly lately. I don't mind it, but its just new. Wondering if she senses the pregnancy?

Mine has been extra clingy too, but he also recently started a new preschool, so didn't know if it was because of that.

Mine has become fascinated with the whole pregnancy process and has started singing a song called "mama's got a baby in her belly." I haven't told her, but it's like she knows.

  • I took that piece of dangerous plastic trash he was playing with away from him.

I walked away and now he has to walk and follow me
  • I wouldn't let her sit in my lap while I drove the car home from daycare.

  • Ooh my daily struggle: putting him in the car seat. Tantrum city!
  • I wouldn't let him play with the syrup bottle during breakfast. Sorry but this mama doesn't have energy to clean that extra mess.
  • I didn't let her play with a tampon* while we interviewed a babysitter.

*Unused and still in the packaging, obvs, but still!

DS was into playing with tampons for a decent clip of time. (also unused, but sometimes not in the packaging).

  • I love this thread!
Toddler tears today came from not painting the wall and wiping his butt. (He wanted daddy to see his poop before I flushed it and daddy wasn't home)
  • I put him to bed after he led me to his bed and said "night night".
  • I love this thread!!!
-because he said he didn't want to eat his carrots (which I knew because he never eats them but I continue to offer) so I took them from his plate and ate one. Meltdown ensued... so I put the carrots back on his plate and the meltdown escalated to some full on exorcist shit.... for 30 mins!
-because I told him to stop hitting the cat with his pizza
-because I left the room when he told me to go away
  • Because I moved my head to look around him when he wanted to sit on my lap directly in front of my face to watch a movie.

  • This post makes me laugh!! Toddler age may be full of some irrational tantrums but I think it's a pretty fun age! My son is 3 on the brink of 4 and this past year with him has been hilarious!! The things he says are very entertaining!
  • I put WD40 on her bike to stip it from squeaking. I had to go back and "wipe it off" in order for her to stop.
  • Whelp, my kiddo tried to throw down over having to put on a shirt for bed.  Fortunately a good solid tickling made her rethink her bare belly policy.

  • Lol good topic idea.  My kiddo laid out on the kitchen floor last night like life was over because I wouldn't put her on the counter.  Sorry kiddo, you are 40+ lbs now, and my exhausted pregnant self can't haul you around.
My son wants to go up on the counter all the time to. Just to look in the cabinets. I'm like sorry I dont feel like standing here for 20 minutes while you ask me what everything is. It's always a meltdown.
Alexander IRL sorry oops im sorry ryan newman GIF

  • Im laughing at every single post because I have been to every single one of them with my 2 year old.
  • Because the vacuum (roomba) is off, then after we turn it on, because the vacuum is on.

  • @ekendall09 Oh no, that's awful!  I'd cry too!  Poor thing.  Hopefully she grows out of them soon.  Did your doctor have any insight?  Or just a bad luck thing?
  • OMG. Because she is telling me a story from two weeks ago (for the 50th time) about how when she stayed with Grandpa he gave her a big open cup and she spilled and got all milky. I wasn't even there!!!

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

  • I took the package of Finding Dory swim diapers away from her when we got to the check out line to pay for them. Luckily, the cashier was kind enough to give them back to her to hold, so the meltdown didn't last long. Now she's been carrying these swim diapers all around the house.

We can bring her to a nose specialist but the only option they gave us was to coterize the vessels in her nose which I just couldn't put a baby/toddler through. They've lessened a little and she knows when they're coming.

Oddly i know a handful of other moms whose children are prone as well.

  • @ekendall09 my 5 year old gets them too. They're pretty infrequent but so unnerving- it always looks like so much blood.

  • Well, now that my toddler is sick, she is crying because:

    1) I wiped her nose
    2) I gave her juice
    3) I put her into PJs
    4) I offered her a banana
    5) I read the wrong book to her
    6) I didn't let her pull the cat's tail

This is all in the space of two hours.  Girlfriend gets some serious case of the pissies when she is sick.
