@dragonette505. 23 days.  22 is short and 24 is long.  They have consistently been averaging 23 for over a year.

hmmm... then when do your normally O... just trying to figure your LP... Your most FQCM was on CD 12, which if that was O and your cycle is 24 days is good. But you had creamy cf up to cd 16 and temp didn't really spike till cd 15 so either annov or late o and maybe you will have a longer cycle?
Last cycle LP was 6 days (confirmed by U/S), and 22 days.  2 cycles ago was 12 days LP (confirmed by US) and 23 days.  3 cycles ago was 9 day LP (confirmed by U/S).  This is the first cycle in 3 months I haven't had it confirmed it by U/S.
I was only consistently tracking cycle length, not O the last year.  I didn't think it would be that big of a deal since we were benched due to medical stuffs/zika exposure/life.  Now I wish I would have kept that data :/
Eta: words, per usual.  And I've always had short cycles.  In HS, I would be 2 weeks off, 1.5-2 weeks on.  At one point in my early 20s, a NP had me on estradiol for irregular cycles.  I wish I would have better questioned her reasoning at the time.  And I thought LPs usually stayed pretty consistent.  I'm on prednisone daily, which I've read can have impact on female hormones, too.
    CM question

Is watery CM supposed to be stretchy at all?  I've seen when I googled it 2 different answers.  I misplaced my CrM book to look it up in there.  There is not stretch at all to what I call watery CM.

And there was no question on the creamy CM!

  • @jrm_14 I don't think watery CM would have any stretch - that would be EWCM, right? FF counts both watery and EW as exactly the same level of fertile in their tracking, FWIW. I think the main difference between EW/W and S/C is the "slip" factor. Can you rub it between your fingers without it starting to pill up? Basically, does it feel like lube?
  • @doxiemoxie212. Yes!  Watery for me feels slippery.

I think its different for folks and also I have seen trend changes in my own cm over time. For me I usually go dry, rubber cement quality then sometimes creamy which I can then tell the diff between the rubber cement and EW, but nowadays I often go from a stretchy rubber cement to eggwhite and THAT is annoying. I can sometimes tell from sensation (like cold vs warm) but it really can be confusing. I think it doesn't have to be stretchy to be watery (because ive had creamy non stretchy watery too) I have a microscope that I use for ferning and it is the absolute arbiter on what my cm is doing. Last cycle I swore (and even DH agreed) that my cm was stretchy eggwhite...NOPE zero ferning and it was just stretchy watery rubber cement! SO annoying. Without the microscope I might have marked that as eggwhite, then id have been hella confused with a super long FW.

GTKY: If there was one thing you could learn to do in your free time/take up as a hobby, what would it be? I with all the other crocheters. I would love to be able to crochet blankets and other cute little projects.
  • @jrm_14 - I'm by far no expert, but the fact that you have a short LP and a normal/healthy LP length alternating every cycle seems to me like one of your ovaries isn't producing enough progesterone to signal that you shouldn't start bleeding 6 DPO. Have you ever had any BW done post-O? I'd be curious to see how your levels compared when you've ovulated on one side vs the other.
Maybe I missed it, but has your physician commented on the short/normal alternating LP?

Q: has anyone else ever had spotting with ovulation? I got my IUD out on Friday and based on my cycle tracking while I had the IUD in I'm in my FW supposed to O tomorrow but this morning I got brown spotting. I thought it was my period so I adjusted my tracking but I just checked my cervical position and it's high and soft. Obviously things are changing with the removal of the IUD but I'm not ready to give up on this cycle yet.

GTKY: I have been wanting to learn how to hand letter or do calligraphy. I bought some pens and tried the tutorials I found on Pinterest but so far have not been successful.

  • @glitzandglitter He is an artist and teaches art at the middle school and high school level. This new job requires him to teach digital art though, which he's never done before, so that's been very challenging. Fx you get crosshairs tomorrow!
@krashke I think it's pretty common to have spotting at ovulation. I've had it happen on rare occasions, but I think for some folks it's an every month kind of thing. You can also ask on the chart stalk thread to get more input!
  • @glitzandglitter I'm always sore after my HIIT classes.... actually after any class. My gym has a lot of classes so I almost never work out solo, and I'm always sore after any kind of class lol.
  • @glitzandglitter we only have one professional day before the kids arrive. I can go into my classroom and plan all summer if I want. I usually just go in for a couple hours the week before the kids come back.
  • @glitzandglitter The book is called, "Name of the Wind", and I know it's an excellent book but I'm just dragging my feet.
  • Hi everyone! I'm new here after lurking for a couple of months. I just posted my intro on the new members thread.

    Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD: 2

WAYDTGKU: Just PNV and CM for this cycle. As I said in my intro post, I charted the past 2 months but I got a bit too obsessive so I'm going to try without it this cycle to see if I can calm down a bit!

R/R: I think I finally learned that symptoms in the TWW mean nothing. I was convinced that I was KTFU but then AF started 3 days early. Hopefully I can get it through my head this time to stop symptom spotting!

CS/Q: Nothing really. Curious about my short LP (9 days) last cycle, but I know bodies do weird things sometimes. Probably just getting back to normal after having the IUD removed in June.

GTKY: If there was one thing you could learn to do in your free time/take up as a hobby, what would it be? I'm with @SkilledSailor -- I wish I could play the piano! I played when I was younger, and I remember my mom telling me that I would regret it someday...and of course she was right because moms always know best!

  • @offtoneverland Welcome! Charting is feeling tiresome to me. May also take a month off from it.
  • @izza2. This month is the left ovary, last was the right :)  I have not have post-O bw done since I was about 18.  I would like to have it sooner rather than later, if my physican was on board.  Mostly because I'm impatient, and if we can see if happens in a pattern now, why not?  She said she would at 6 months/6 cycles & at that point also do a RE referral (also septate ute, dx via US).
I tend to get anxious about stuff, but I guess data supports me on this one.  I hate asking for things from my doctor :/
  • @jrm_14 I know a short LP is really only "problematic" if you're TTC, but if you have the data to support that it's happening, and there might be a fix, I think your doctor should support you looking into causes sooner than later. My obgyn was willing to run basic cd 3 and 7dpo blood work because of my abundant midcycle spotting. She was more hesitant when she thought I was asking about it just for ttc but realized after I explained that it's an annoying thing to deal with that I might not actually have to deal with if there's an easy fix (depending on cause).
  • @dukestar5 hope you're ok! I figured we wouldn't see you hear today but I wanted to let you know I'm thinking about all people affected by the flooding.

    ^ditto.

Thanks for your input, @doxiemoxie212 and @izza2. I will message my doctor this week.  Any certain bw to ask for? Did they find out the cause of your annoying mid-cycle spotting? I remember you mentioning it previously.
  • @glitzandglitter went out of town with some friends for the night.
