@Malibu45 first of all, how exciting! Glad you've got it scheduled. That is so crazy about not having any scents, I wonder about like scented body wash too, did they say you have to shower with unscented soap? The random things we learn going through this! I'm so excited for you, tomorrow, wow!!!
@Malibu45. GL!!!! I had heard that about avoiding scents, but I didn't know it was because they can affect the embies!!! That's wild!
@ReesaAnne16 I am still waiting to get a little time to myself to watch the Khan videos. We love Khan academy in our house! When is your next report? Sunday you said??? Prayers going up for your lil embies!!! ❤
AFM - Monitoring went okay. There are three coming up on the right 11-13, and on the left, two 11-13, and two 16-17. E is 799, P is at 0.4. So we'll continue the same meds tonight, second night of ganirelix, and go back for monitoring again tomorrow, and probably every day now up till retrieval.
Great news on the sizes @BusinessWife! The nurses told me it's good when there are a few pretty close together in size like that. Have they estimated your retrieval date yet?
@Momifbysea no, not yet! Maybe the doctor will say something after tomorrow? My own doctor does the monitoring at a different office, so I may just go there instead Monday to get it from the horses mouth, so to speak ;)
@Momifbysea@BusinessWife...I know it's crazy ! I can't use anything scented that morning but they didn't say anything about day before lol. I guess I'll shower very early on Saturday. I know I'm so excited ! I asked how my embryos are doing but she said they don't check on them till day 5..she said something about it's not good to keep checking on them as it disturbs the process. I'm dying to know how many I have ! Eek !
I am honestly a little nervous now, (and may have cried in the parking lot), bc the doc today said something about expecting to get 7-12 eggs, and I was like whoa whoa hold up, what about my AFC at 19/21??? So obv there's inky 7 they see popping up so far, but more could catch up yadda yadda. For the first time I'm worried about only getting enough for maybe one outside baby and having to seriously consider banking instead of moving onto FET. :(
ETA oh! I almost forgot! He did say my lining was looking nice already at 8+ (and they like to see over 7 for transfer), so when the time comes for transfer, that lining shouldn't present an issue for us, so that's encouraging!
Hi everyone! I just introed on this board so I hope it's ok to just jump in here. I am mainly active on the IF thread on TTGP but I really wanted to also join you guys now. I have spent a few day lurking this thread first so I feel like I know you all already. My H has oligospermia and I have very low AMH so IVF with ICSI was the only way forward for us in the end. I am on microdose Lupron protocol and I am currently day 3 of Lupron and day 2 of stims with Menopur and gonalF. Lupron gave me a headache the whole first day but otherwise so far so good. I don't have my first monitoring appointment until Tuesday so don't really know how things are going yet. As you all know it's just so nerve wracking putting so much into something when you may get nothing back but I'm trying not to stress and to be positive!
@BusinessWife I am so sorry they are predicting less than what you expected. From lurking here so long I have seen many women who got the same news around this time and were pleasantly surprised in the end so I hope you are one of them. That is awesome about the lining though. How many days in are you now?
@safire3 !!!! Welcome! Of course you belong here! ❤ I hope we may be pleasantly surprised too, and it's just still early? Tonight will just be day six of stimms, so maybe it's fine, it could just take us a little longer to get there... I feel like my protocol is not that different from yours tho! Only bc the lupron and the low-dose HCG are the same little vial and mini insulin syringes lol then I just have the 300 Follistim instead of half and half with the menopur. Excited for you to hear good things on Tuesday! Are you using frozen sperm too? Or can they still get a fresh sample in your case?
@Hopeful_mom You didn't miss a thing from me. The transfer went fine. Got the picture of the embryo and it's placement in my ute. Just been hanging out with occasional twinges and stabs down there. Back to work tomorrow. Boo! @ReesaAnne16 Yay for more great news! Congrats!
@Malibu45 first of all, how exciting! Glad you've got it scheduled. That is so crazy about not having any scents, I wonder about like scented body wash too, did they say you have to shower with unscented soap? The random things we learn going through this! I'm so excited for you, tomorrow, wow!!!
No scents of any kind. I use an unscented organic body wash on retrieval and transfer day (though they never said it for retrieval I just do it) I try not to use hair products that have scents too!
@Malibu45. GL!!!! I had heard that about avoiding scents, but I didn't know it was because they can affect the embies!!! That's wild!

Omg! Getting so close now!!! They are probably only telling you about the larger ones (since until they reach a certain size they won't be able to mature and fertilize.) but that doesn't mean some can't/won't catch up! Most likely some more will!!
@Momifbysea@BusinessWife...I know it's crazy ! I can't use anything scented that morning but they didn't say anything about day before lol. I guess I'll shower very early on Saturday. Do you all stay off your feet after a transfer ?
Different clinics give different advice. At al of the ones I've gone to so far (not counting the current one as they haven't talked to me about it yet) they have suggested one day of light rest (no bed rest) like lounging on the couch at the most. No heavy lifting and basically right after transfer go right to acupuncture then go home and put your feet up on the couch and watch some comedies i have seen women who have been give 2-3 days of hardcore bed rest which sounds insane. All of the places I've gone to felt it best to get you back moving because it encourages blood flow which is needed for implantation. I've been told after the one day of light rest, go back to work, and light exercise (no twisting, heavy lifting so basically walking, elliptical)till beta. Let us know what direction you're given!
Thank you so much @BusinessWife! We are hoping to use a fresh sample but since DH's counts are pretty unpredictable he had to leave 2 frozen samples just in case we need them as a back-up. FX for good news at your monitoring tomorrow!
Thanks for sharing that article, it definitely has more information than we've been given.
We won't get an update until we go in tomorrow for the transfer, so I'm worried we might have bad news when we arrive. praying we still have a few embryos awaiting us on Sunday, despite the MFI.

safire3 welcome and sorry you find yourself here! Finding out you have low amh is hard to hear for sure BUT doesn't mean you cant have a great response either! How did your US sound and whats your AFC count? Very smart to have frozen samples. During an IUI my OH had an emergency with his family and I missed it BUT it wasn't till my first IVF cycle got canceled because he didn't make it home in time. I will say now I have 3 vials frozen, rather be safe then sorry I was mad at myself for not doing it sooner!!! Are you planning on doing a fresh transfer??
@BusinessWife i know this process is s hard! You still have some time of others to pop up but for some its quality of quantity! Still seems like you have a nice amount growing regardless!
@ReesaAnne16 You find out today or tomorrow about your embabies?
Malibu45 a lot of places dont check in every day especially day 4 thats when the magic is happening. Excited you're so close to transfer yay!! Your prep sounds like the same instructions for ER, i'll make note of it too!! My clinic doesn't do bed rest they also say to take it easy though.
AFM: AF is here and I'm suppose to go the the dr tomorrow but I'm pretty far away and have no desire to get up so early tomorrow Guess we shall see...

You guys. I gotta do my day 6 stimms here at MILs and she doesnt know we're doong IVF. :# Awesome. Lol. I have my stuff in a cooler pouch with a couple cold compresses, since the low-dose hcg needs to stay refridgerated... Hopefully this works out okay! BusinessWife good luck with that...I had to do that at my moms house and i hid the meds in the fridge...it did get tricky at times but i managed, good luck!!!
dragonette505 my clinic is super busy sundays for whatever reason where the wait can be an 1hr to an hr and 1/2. So that alone makes me not want to go. I'm just be cranky as I haven't gotten one good night of sleep and was hoping to do that tomorrow...oh well!

@Hopeful_mom I had them in my pouch in a tote and it worked out okay! Just hoping now when I get home they will still be cool. Also, Fedex screwed up my low-dose HCG refill shipment today, but I did get an email saying it was eventually delivered afterall, so that will be another thing to see how that went. If it's warm when it arrives they will resend it same-day Monday. What a nuisance tho!
@BusinessWife ugh! I guess if you can't tuck your supplies away in some corner of her fridge it might work.... @Hopeful_mom awwww.... well even with a wait, it's good to just get things done and over with
Good news! My meds did arrive eventually today.... the pharmacist was skeptical over whether it would still be good, tho. I can try to call them Monday and run it by them, but DH and I agreed it was definitely not WARM inside the pouch. Cool, I would say. So hopefully it's fine and they don't have to send out an immediate replacemnt, bc what a waste + hassle!
@BusinessWife was it your HCG (pre-compounded)? Most of the others can stand not being in the fridge for a day (or so I've been told by my insurance companies specialty pharmacy)
@BusinessWife ugh! That one I'm not sure about, then. The pre compounded stuff is more delicate. I feel like if the container was still cool possibly its ok.. Such a short shelf life, tho! Lupron and HGH both have a 30 day shelf life after being mixed or compounded
@dragonette505 Yeah, I will just have to try to call the pharmacy Monday either way, let them know when it arrived and when I was able to bring it in and just see what they say. :/

Today was the same doctor as yesterday, so that was nice to have a little continuity. He seems so think we are getting close! I will go in again for monitoring tomorrow, and I may just go into a different office since my own doctor will be there that day, but he suggested I might not need the stims after tonight! OMG. We'll see... But there were four 11-13 on the right, plus four 11-13 on the left and two 17-19, along with 13 smaller follis (7R/6L).
I think I feel a little better after today's appointment than yesterday, and will try not to be to sad about maybe not getting our "big" family just yet, at least till we see how the rest of this week goes...
@BusinessWife Yay!!!! If you are done stimming tonight, will you trigger too?!? That's awesome! Don't count your ovaries out just yet! I still get the feeling they are only emphasizing your larger follies. Also it will be easier for them to see your true number during retrieval because as they aspirated each follicle, it collapses. When they are looking on us, it's easy to miss some, but during retrieval they will not mistake ones they have already measured.
Gotchu @dragonette505 yeah I was wondering that too, when he's measuring, like how do you know you didn't already count that one!? Or that you didn't skip that guy??? Lol
I guess I'm not sure how it works. I woukd Not be triggering tonight, I can get that much. But do you normally do the stimms + trigger? That same night? Or does trigger happen on its own the night following the last day of stimms? I got the impression last night of stimms would be followed by trigger the next night, but now I'm not sure if I just made that up! Lol
@BusinessWife lol! It can be different things. Like I've had cycles where I do a higher dose of follistim and menopur and trigger same night. I've also done reduced doses and trigger. I've done morning lupron then monitoring and no more evening shots and trigger and lastly no shots except hcg trigger. So it can be. Any of that based on if they feel you have enough good sized follies. If they decide no more meds today but trigger tomorrow, I would think they would still want you to take the ganerelix tonight to make sure you don't prematurely O
Oh wow! So many different options! Who knew!? @dragonette505. Ya, so cue me obsessively checking voicemail in case I missed the call. My cell acts weird sometimes and doesn't always ring, even at home......
Oh wow! So many different options! Who knew!? @dragonette505. Ya, so cue me obsessively checking voicemail in case I missed the call. My cell acts weird sometimes and doesn't always ring, even at home......
Lol! This is one of my fave gifs! Yeah it's basically based on your hormones and follie size. Last cycle my estrogen was so high I def didn't need and more meds.... it won't be so confusing sounding when you get your instructions. The main thing to focus on is just the exact time since your retrieval is scheduled based on the time you trigger (36 hrs from trigger)
The nurse called! So we will increase my Follistim to 375 tonight, plus the 20 l-d HCG, and Ganirelix. Scan tomorrow morning with my own doctor (Yay!) And possibly trigger tomorrow for Wednesday retrieval (!) Right now there's still just ten measurable tho, and she wants to see those eight 11-13s plump up a bit - maybe some smaller ones will join the party, too? Idk. I am starting to stress we might not have enough make it to freeze for 3+ outside babies here... she told me not to press the PANIC button just yet, tho... argh!!!
@BusinessWife with your stats I'd guess you'll get 12-15 (of a good size) Since you're only looking to transfer 1, even with the lower than you expected numbers (i find it's always like that.... cycle before for me they saw like 14-15 and i started with less this cycle) you may still get 2-3 (at the least) to freeze.... don't stress you don't need tons, just a few good ones (unless you want more than 3 kids)
@dragonette505 yeah exactly, I am still wanting 3-5, where DH says if we have enough for 2-3 he would not feel the need to repeat a cycle. Throw in the added uncertainty now of not doing pgs, and i am really trying not to freak out here.
Transfer Day !!! What a cool experience !!!! Everything went perfect !! We transferred 1 embryo...out of 18 eggs retrieved , 13 fertilized. From the 13 we transferred 1, 3 were frozen and the remaining 9 are still growing so I will know more tomorrow. The embryo that was transferred received a AA grading! The doctor said there's a grading system that he does not like to use because it sounds discouraging to patients but of that grading the embryo received highest one !! (good, fair & poor). Now we wait !! I have a very good feeling this is it ! Atter the transfer my doctor printed a picture and said "here's your first picture of your baby"...so cool !
I have one pregnancy test left so I probably will be tempted to lol ! I just have to decide when to do it I guess lol. My pregnancy test is scheduled for September 5th
BusinessWife looks like you're getting close but I"m glad you're still stemming I believe the dr like to get as many above 16 before trigger so maybe tomorrow your 11-13 will perk up to that. Each cycle is different and it all depends on the sizes of everything including your levels. Sounds like you'll be headed to the dr everyday now...ur close!!
@Malibu45 YAY congrats on being PUPO!!! How exciting! Sending you all the sticky vibes ur way!! Congrats on 3 frosties can't wait to hear more tomorrow!!
AFM: Made to the dr and waited 2hrs ugh hate sundays over there! Should get the call to start estrace tonight so still waiting on that ...

@Malibu45 Yay transfer buddy!!! Hurray!! How wonderful to have so many still going strong, I hope you have a few more to freeze after tomorrows report!
AFM We finally made it to transfer! Out of our 4 embryos, we had a grade A, B, & C bastoscysts. The 4th one had stopped growing. We transfered the grade A today, and are growing the other two out one more day. The plan is to freeze the grade B embryo tomorrow, and MAYBE the other one as well, if it catches up. I'm so thrilled we had one to transfer and 1 to freeze out of just 4 little embryos! God is so good!
We got a picture of the embaby and an ultrasound showing the little bubble in the uterus afterward!

@Hopeful_mom awwww.... well even with a wait, it's good to just get things done and over with
Such a short shelf life, tho! Lupron and HGH both have a 30 day shelf life after being mixed or compounded

Lol

Yeah it's basically based on your hormones and follie size. Last cycle my estrogen was so high I def didn't need and more meds.... it won't be so confusing sounding when you get your instructions. The main thing to focus on is just the exact time since your retrieval is scheduled based on the time you trigger (36 hrs from trigger)
more tomorrow.
