That glorious place geographically between Texas and California, where both kinds of Mexican food are in abundance.  You can have one kind on Monday and one kind on Tuesday.  I will say though, those parts of New Mexico where they dump Hatch
green chiles and Hatch green chile sauce on every kind of food is probably my favorite!

  • Not really a UO but an embarassing question - I bought a Herve Leger dress earlier this year and only wore it once. I was hoping to wear it for my birthday in November. Would you wear a HL dress with a baby bump or is that super tacky? Please tell me if it's tacky lol.

  • @bettyvonsomethingstein you win. Rather than debate it as an either/or proposition the better answer is to eat both! In abundance. And yes, preferably with hatch chilis.

I don't think that it's automatically tacky just because it's HL + pregnant. I think it just depends on the style of the dress, length, how it fits at the time, etc. Camila Alves has done this a couple of times and I think that she's done it in a classy way-

I'm personally not a fan of anything super tight, short, and revealing (all at the same time) on pregnant women, so I might shy away from it if it were me and that was the case. BUT it is your body and your Birthday and you should dress however makes you feel beautiful! If the dress feels/looks good to you, I say go for it.
  • @lemondrop111 if you're comfortable in it, I say go for it! Showing off the bump is nothing to be ashamed of.

  • Also it annoys me when people don't want to say the name of their baby until he/she is born.  No one is going to steal your name.
This and some of the other responses bother me. For us, it's for religious reasons. So for people to say that we are smug or full of ourselves because we are not comfortable sharing the name is really ignorant and disrespectful, IMO.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

I actually didn't know that it was a religious thing until a few years ago and think that's super interesting.  I wouldn't say I am/was ignorant, just not informed.  That said, I reallllllly don't think it's a big deal that people keep the name to themselves, for whatever reason.  Dude, you get judged so much as a parent already.  Can we just not, especially for something that's really nunya anyway?

I had no idea there were religious reasons that didn't let you share the name until just now.  That's totally understandable and I would not judge for that.

The most notable religious example is the Jewish custom of withholding the name until the Bris (I believe is 8 days after birth) or naming ceremony.  Not sure exactly the reasoning behind it beyond something to do with the name carrying part of the soul.

  • @ngolimento Oh that is pretty cool!  I had never heard of that before.
