@olliegolly if you live/work up near Albany and are willing to travel down to NYC also check out Yale University Medical Center. They have a huge fertility center and are just as close to Albany as NYC and may be doing studies. Just FYI
@safire3 I'll be on follistim, menopur, and ganirelix (starting after day 4 of stims). They also have me on doxycycline which I am worried I am going to have an allergic reaction to since I am allergic to minocycline but no one else seems to be concerned with it and says if I get hives then take benadryl.... uhhh okay? They have me taking a PNV and a baby aspirin every day as well. I'll be doing my first injections tonight! EEK! I've injected MH for years because he's a diabetic, but doing it to myself... I might chicken out. MH said I need to let him jab me once just for payback. I'm sure he will get more than even with those intramuscular meds.

@JuneRoseRuby lol I think your H is gonna enjoy this. GL with the shot tonight! So exciting!!! I have a medical background but not sure yet if I have the nerve to inject myself so hoping DH can do it for now. I forgot we are also on Doxycycline - both me and DH. Interesting that they are telling you just take Benadryl if you're allergic. I guess they would switch you at that time because you have to be on it for about 10 days. I also take baby aspirin although kind of self-prescribed and the nurse told me I should stop it half way through stims due to bleeding risk. I think I will double check that with my RE.
@kiwi2628 That's a good thought too thank you. I actually have quite a few friends in New London, I lived there for several years, so that is a great option. Diagnosis (If you've been): Low progesterone for now - more testing next month
Cycle/CD: 12/13
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Absolutely nothing. DH has Epididymitis and is on antibiotics until next week so no timing during FW. I'm okay with it though. It means not having to take progesterone during LP and a nice break before we start testing.
How are things going? Pretty good. Starting to put together our list of questions for our RE appointment.

KariAnn323 I'm taking HCTZ (hydrochlorothyazoid or something like that). It was prescribed by my regular doctor. I drink a ton of water, but seem to be having water retention issues as well. This makes losing the weight the RE is making me lose exceptionally hard. So trying out the diuretic. *TW* My body seems even more f-ed up since my last MC. I really think I need to take some Miralax or something as well, since I've been having constipation like crazy near O and AF. Ugh!

@BusinessWife the doxy is an antibiotic and is to decrease the risk of bacterial infection (either vaginal or cervical) from the egg collection +/- embryo transfer. My clinic has the guy take it 5 days prior to egg collection to minimize bacteria in his semen and has the woman start it the night before collection until the transfer (assuming fresh). My clinic also has us do prednisone (steroid) to decrease inflammation, and I don't know how I feel about that.
@kiwi2628 We will have to take a steroid at some point too which make me crazy so how the heck am I supposed to rest when I am going to be cracked out and want to clean every surface in sight?!
@BusinessWife We are doing a fresh cycle, but FET because of PGS. Which totally confused me when the nurse said that yesterday. I was like no we are doing frozen! Shes like yeah, but this is your fresh cycle then you will do the frozen transfer.
I have to say I have so much more empathy for all you women that have been using injectables. It is not comfortable! I felt fine sticking myself but then when I plunged the meds in, it felt like there wasn't enough room in my body for all the fluid to go in. It was like an achey/pressure feeling. I'm fine today though.

@JuneRoseRuby wow that sounds so uncomfortable. Glad you feel better today though. Hope tonight is better.
@BusinessWife they told me the doxy is to decrease infection risk in me and decrease white blood cells in DH's sample. I'm surprised that they make us start it when we start stims though, not just a couple days before retrieval.
Looks like Ike I will be starting stims tomorrow instead since AF didn't want to get her s*@t together yesterday. Just spotted all day so hoping today is CD1 so I can start tomorrow.
@safire3 @JuneRoseRuby did you guys start stimming on CD2??
That makes sense with the doxy @kiwi2628 and @safire3 I guess for us with frozen sperm, that part's less of an issue? I really dont know what else they may add come FET, i just know about the estrace and pio...
@laurad75 FX your donor moves quickly! Diagnosis: DOR, AMA
Cycle/CD: 24 (18 AL)/CD5
Status: WTO
What are you doing: IUI number 3 with our midwife, additional turkey baster insemination, trying Arvigo massage this cycle (also through my midwife)
How are things going: Right now I'm still smarting from another failed cycle. It's become very hard to feel hopeful at all. I'm totally regretting having my AMH checked because I think that just adds to the hopelessness. So I'm trying to concentrate on the things I can do, and I downloaded a fertility hypnosis book from Audible because apparently I'm desperate and slightly crazy. I haven't tried it yet, but I thought I might listen to it while I'm on the acupuncture table this afternoon. It's this, in case anyone else wants to hit rock bottom with me:
I kid. I do think there is a mind body connection, and I'm trying to find that hopefulness again, if only to feel better. And I really just want to believe:
Any questions: Nope
GTKY: Truthfully, if we had that kind of money, we would definitely try IVF. Also, pay off my car, and buy a minivan and a kickass house to park it in front of. Anything else would get invested (although there probably wouldn't be anything else).

@BusinessWife I don't think it has to do with frozen sperm, it probably mostly has to do with your clinic and what their practice is. There is a lot in medicine that isn't right, or wrong, its just a preference and what you are used to- I deal with this ALL the time. For example, for an eye ulcer, I use ciprofloxacin. I think its the best, ophthalmologists love it and use it, but my co-worker uses NeoPolyBac. Neither are right or wrong, its just a preference. I think to use or not to use an antibiotic probably falls in that category. Some doctors use it because it does decrease bacteria/WBCs, other doctors don't because for the vast majority of people its unnecessary (and who doesn't like to minimize antibiotic use!), so they choose not to. *All of this is just a guess on reasoning based on reading protocols from many different practices and the theory of medicine, I will be asking my Dr when I have my IVF consult

@BusinessWife yes I'm supposed to start CD2 which is today if blood work and US look good I think. Also we plan to do FET unless we don't have a choice (if they don't look like they will make it to day 5 to freeze). U?
@BusinessWife yay for the first monitoring appointment! So exciting! Was today day 4 of stims already or do they do it earlier than my clinic? At least you have a date for the polypectiny and it's not too far away. Hopefully we will still be transferring around the same time.
Soooo, I got a text from my midwife yesterday that the kit she uses to wash sperm prior to doing IUIs is on back order, until probably 9/6, and she's completely out. And I will likely O on 9/1. Apparently it's the only place she's been able to source them. So unless something changes, no IUI for me this cycle.
So at the moment my plan is to still do at least one of the turkey baster inseminations. I'm also still going to try the Arvigo massage. Given my recent state of mind, I'm amazed I didn't totally lose my shit. But last cycle everything went perfectly, but I still had a shorter LP and wasn't KU, anyway...
I still ordered two vials of frozen swimmers....even if we decide to only use one, our tank can handle storing the other until next cycle if need be.

Day two of stims went well. Tried it in my thigh and it still felt the same, but all in the love of bebes. Tonight is day three. I picked up more meds today so that I don't have to worry about it over the weekend. Tomorrow I head in for my second ultrasound. @JuneRoseRuby just checking to make sure you are mixing the follistim and Menopur with just one vial of saline? I actually didn't know I could do that so that was a big relief when they told me today. I have to take 3 vials each time but it all gets mixed together in the same 1ml of saline.
I did get the ok to start today but I'm only doing Lupron today and will start Menopur and gonalF tomorrow. The Lupron was ok, it's a small amount and a tiny needle. DH did it and I had my eyes closed so hopefully he did it right (I'm a big chicken). I'm scared of the Menopur so we'll see how that goes tomorrow.

That makes sense with the doxy @kiwi2628 and @safire3 I guess for us with frozen sperm, that part's less of an issue?

It's this, in case anyone else wants to hit rock bottom with me:
https://www.amazon.com/Overcome-Infertility-Hypnosis-and-Subliminal/dp/B00DC7GFV6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1503507491&sr=8-1&keywords=overcome+infertility+meddows

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Letrozole+Ovidrel+IUI #2
How are things going? I have been horrible with keeping up with things on here lately. I have just been feeling so disconnected from everything, and I just have not had the drive to do much. Any questions?
GTKY: I'm sure this has already been asked but, if you had a million dollars, what would you do with it? Pay off student loans, my car, and our mortgage, take an awesome vacation, and save the rest (which seems to have been a pretty popular response so far)

@BusinessWife yes I'm supposed to start CD2 which is today if blood work and US look good I think. Also we plan to do FET unless we don't have a choice (if they don't look like they will make it to day 5 to freeze). U?
@laurad75. So far so good! I think I had one 10 on one side and 12 and 13 on the other. She said everything looks good! I go back Saturday for f/u...

@laurad75 Thanks love.

@JuneRoseRuby @safire3 Let me know how your stims are going too!
@aurora1973 Ughhh that is so annoying! Get to basting, I guess...
@adirat thanks for checking in! Have you heard anything about your probe?
Day two of stims went well. Tried it in my thigh and it still felt the same, but all in the love of bebes. Tonight is day three. I picked up more meds today so that I don't have to worry about it over the weekend. Tomorrow I head in for my second ultrasound. As of my Tuesday ultrasound, I had 13 follicles on my right and 16 on my left.

@adirat @JuneRoseRuby FX for some great eggs!!
@safire3 oh, that would be wonderful to be transfer buddies! I was daring to dream about joining an actual BMB today and it got me a lil misty. I think I'm starting to have the emotional part kick in today. Lol +also tired.
@adirat don't worry! AFCs can vary a bit from moth to month, and even go up! I believe anyway my BFFs AFC was similar, 11 or 12, and on top of that, it took a lot for her to respond... but.... ***TW*** ivf success

Now she's 16+ weeks with her sticky lil peanut!

I know you have extra concerns with the PGD, but I gotta trust and believe it's gonna work out just great! ❤
