@OmSweetOm Your research sounds totally plausible! That is so interesting about the yeast. I'm sorry the doctor wasn't available when you called back.. so obnoxious!!

Damn. Glad I live in Germany, where this isn't even something they test for at all... also tons of people drink small amounts here while pregnant, it's totally normal. Cultural differences abound.
If it's based off a urine analysis I'm betting someone swapped your cup. Does your OB have a little door to the bathroom and one outside for the nurse to pick it up? If the alcohol content was that high someone likely knew they were going to test poorly and could have very easily swaped the urine if they wanted to. I've gone to put my cup in the little door before and found a cup from the person before me still sitting there.
Hey!! Sorry I went MIA. So, I wound up just discussing the whole debacle with the doc in person at my appointment last Monday. His exact words were "if you say it's not accurate, I believe you"..... and proceeded to tell me a few things that could have caused it- NyQuil etc. None of which applied so I wasn't fully satisfied. I got a script to take a retest. I had planned on going Friday because I've been so busy but, Thursday night I had a major face palm moment when I realized the witch hazel compresses I've been sporting on my brand new butt accessory (aint pregnancy grand?!) contains 14% alcohol. And since it was discovered that this was in fact from the urinalysis I was too damn scared to go and ACTUALLY fail- even if for a known reason. I don't know what I was thinking when I used that. But, honestly now that some time has passed and the initial annoyance has lessened I feel more rational about my results and knowing it clearly had to be a mix up. I'll probably go at some point this week just because I made such a big stink about the retest but, coming up on 37 weeks now I almost feel like what's the damn point.
Thanks everyone for all the support- it totally did make me feel a lot better about a the whole situation!
