@itsmemario@becausescience It was so fun! I need to edit pics for *stranger danger* but we got to hold little baby (1 week old! They still had their umbilical cords!) pygmy goats and I squealed. There was also a llama. I'd say the point of the goats is just for fun - the instructor really emphasized that this class was way more about being in nature and being playful than getting a crazy hard workout.
We just went out for dinner. I was so excited because my nausea was mostly gone, and I was actually hungry. We don't go out to eat very often, and this place makes a fantastic veggie burger. Omg, it's so good. Well, I overdid it and now I feel awful. Ugggggh
So the ILs wanted to go to CA for five days. But they had to stay in a house. A hotel was not an option. Last night and today I have been bit all over by bed bugs from that house. The house that had reviews saying they previously had bed bugs. "But it's so affordable." I am so upset. And now I have to find money in my budget to hire someone to come and eradicate them from my house.
@mdfarmchick I would be furious! I don't think I'd be able to just keep my mouth shut over something like that. Sorry that you now have to deal with this...
@bb3vj3n They feel super bad and they know that I'm pregnant. Plus MH pretty much had them look at the bites while we were trying to figure out what they were. I'm more upset with the people who rented the house when they still had an infestation and then implied that we brought the bed bugs... Anyway I've been sick all day and I have bites all over me and I'm not very happy at all in general right now. And I feel dirty.
@mdfarmchick, oh my goodness. This is literally my worst nightmare! That is HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I am so sorry! I can't even imagine what you're going through right now. I'm itchy and scratching my head now in solidarity with you.
@mdfarmchick What a nightmare! I hope you can get rid of them fairly easily. It is hard to believe that company would still list that home without making sure the problem was taken care of.

@mdfarmchick that is one of my worst fears when staying away from home! ISH!!!! I am so sorry. The owners should certainly respond appropriately, and accusing you of bringing the bed bugs is obviously ridiculous! Boo!!
@justkeeptrying I had soup the other day and it was so much better than I was anticipating. I've been craving Pho lately but haven't made my way to get any. I might need to make that happen this week!
My daughter has been screaming for five days straight. Just went out and bought her some infant Motrin. We think this might be her first tooth but oh my lord if this is teething I need it to be over.
Also so she said dada for the first time yesterday and I cried more than when she said mama for the first time.
I worked my first solo shift at the new pharmacy yesterday-10am to 9pm (plus an hour drive each way). I'm so exhausted. Now I am on my way into the university for a work event I have this afternoon. I just wanna nap!!!
Oh also we bought a Pacifica minivan on friday and I think I outed myself as pregnant. My cousin texted me and said "no way you got a minivan unless you're pregnant again."
So thanks everyone for the solidarity. I'm on mobile so I won't try to tag all of you. If any of you happen to get bed bugs while pregnant, Benadryl is the best pregnancy safe solution right now. It literally feels like I am back in first grade with the chicken pox. My SIL is practically in tears over this and there's no point in being mad at her. The lady renting the house showed her proof that they'd been cleared bed bug free by a pest control company. She finally offered them or us a free night the next time we were in Anaheim--MH and I couldn't contain our laughter. MH has been busy getting anything that could be affected outside--bonus of living in the desert is that it gets hot enough in our cars and garages to kill the bastards. And he's going to have to bomb the house room by room. We'll have an exterminator out as soon as someone opens on Monday. I hope. Fortunately there were no more bites last night at least.
In other news, I haven't thrown up today. So that's a win.
@JamieK1882 Glad you survived your first solo shift! Maybe you can get ((ETA: fix autocorrect)) to bed early tonight since you don't get a nap.
@ShawnnaO teething is the worst. Good luck. DS always wants extra snuggles and usually would only drink milk and eat pouches on the days he was teething hard. Usually it's only 1-3 bad days per tooth. Hopefully LO feels better today.
@babybluu yes please to the second trimester ((Friday for me))
@babybluu this may make me sound stupid... but when exactly does second trimester start? I had previously been told first trimester ends at the end of 13 weeks... but my OB told me the end of 12?
@bb3vj3n I've noticed it depends on who you talk to and what you read, I've been told both as well. I'm going by end of 13 weeks just to make myself feel better that I still feel like complete crud. 2nd trimester begins tomorrow for me. Baby Jesus please let me feel better soon, my kids are about to post a listing for a new mother.

I've gone by the beginning of week 13 marks 2nd trimester
People making noises with their mouths, usually eating and drinking, makes me cringe, and I think the name for it is misophonia. Anyway, I think my response to it is heightened in pregnancy because now when I hear it, I feel like I'm going to be physically sick. And my dog licking itself drives me absolutely bonkers. This feels random because I feel alone in it, so I don't think it's a symptom...but HOLY hannah. *shudder*
@LiveNLove44 you are not alone! I have this too... repetitive sounds drive me insane. it's almost like this RAGE that hits me instantly. my dogs and cats licking is probably my worst trigger. I sleep with white noise so that I can't hear them. Loud breathing is a close second followed by chewing. DH gets so upset with me - he does not understand why it all drives me so crazy.
Anyone know where you can rent maternity cocktail dresses? Like a rent the runway, but for maternity? I have a wedding in two weeks with coworkers and clients, and am trying to find something to wear that will conceal my Bump. I want to keep this news from work for a little while longer. Thanks in advance.
@SoFlaMommie1128 Then you probably don't want a maternity dress. Maternity tends to work around the bump to show it off in a flattering way, not conceal it. I would just check Rent the Runway for hangy styles with no waist, possibly a size up.
@SoFlaMommie1128 Im going to PM you a store near us that has awesome dresses. I bought my wedding dress there and my mom and sis have a few of their dresses. Super awesome styles and the woman is creative and fantastic.
@SoFlaMommie1128 how about a floral/busy printed wrap dress with a high-low hem? It has a lot going on and flows away from the belly at a good spot. I've been trying a few on for a wedding I have coming up, and they're concealing and flattering for an early bump.
@SoFlaMommie1128 If you do like rent the runway I noticed last time I was there that their filters on the left of the screen actually include "Bump Friendly" in the Body Type and a Maternity filter for trimesters.

Seriously thinking I should just live off of soup for the rest of first trimester.
