Ugh, that sucks, @allowachick. I'm sorry. I guess the silver lining is that at least he knows? I feel like in my interviewing days, people would just not get back to me and it was THE WORST.
@kmalls he only knows because the hiring portal says so. He'll probably never see an email or a phone call. How hard is it for these people to send an email?

@allowachick I hate how lazy people are with hiring nowadays. My husband MAYBE got one response in 10 applications when he was last looking, and he took it pretty personally (I just shrug it off when it happens to me because I hate personal contact anyway).
My WTF today belongs (as it often does) to my SIL. We are travelling to view the eclipse (she is not coming with us), and she has been pouncing on every single fake panic news article she can find and forwarding it to me. She's not even going. Wtf does she care? The most recent article she sent me was that it would take 10 hours to travel 90 miles back to our home. She is such a miserable snatch.
my WTF is my motivation. I just don't want to do anything today, kind of just dragging my feet and not really doing any work. I have a ton of work to be doing but I'm just feeling so blah and unfocused that I don't even care right now.

I kind of feel badly for hating my SIL's behaviors, because my FIL is verbally abusive, and frankly the fact that none of the kids turned out to be serial killers is a win. But she definitely picked up his habit of trying to ruin everything for everyone. The last time I sat in a car with her, she regaled me with like 5 stories of kids dying in horrific ways after I shared that I was worried about my DD (can't remember what for).
Ummm we just got a $550 water bill!!! The water company says we much have a hidden leak. We have checked the main water line and there appears to be no leak. All of our other pipes go through the basement and we also see no leak. Guess it's time to get a plumber out there, but this is definitely not an expense we need right now.
@ngolimento ugh your SIL sounds like someone who deserves a constant eye roll. Today I read pregnant people should not go outside, cook or touch knives during the eclipse. Because it could lead to cleft palate. Ridiculous!!! Where are you traveling to view the eclipse? I'm thinking of last minute going somewhere with MH.
@zombiemom1318 my in-laws are Indian and the first thing my mother in law said when she found out I'm pregnant is "you can't go see the eclipse!" She is super serious about it causing birth defects. I am about 2 hours from the path of totality and I really want to go.
@mountainsmama we live about two hours from the mountains in NC and we have a lot of friends traveling up there to watch it. My mom lives around Kansas City, mo In a smaller towns and they're predicting millions to be there. Crazy! I feel like if I don't go check it out I'll be missing out but I also really don't feel like a car drive.
