Re: TTCAL Check In Week of 8/14/17

  • 1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): Not new. At all.

    2. Status? CD11

    3. R/R? Silly but I can't wait for fall tv to start again. I need some new tv to watch.

    4. GTKY: With summer almost over what are some last minute plans you have before fall starts? Trying to soak up as much sun as possible!! I am not ready for summer to end BUT I am excited to decorate for fall.  :)
  • Loading the player...
  • 2.  1dpo, most likely.  Waiting to see temp rise to confirm O, and then officially in my first TWW of this whole TTC post loss thing.  *Gulp*  Determined not to symptom spot...it's never helped me in the past!

    3.  I've been all sorts of bloated for the past couple of months (thanks, hormones?), and I'm so irritated that I feel like I still look about 16 weeks pregnant or so. Usually I don't care about that so much, but given the circumstances I *really* don't like it.  WTF, body, just go back to looking normal, please.

    4.  Our only other plans for the rest of the summer is that H and I are going to DragonCon in Atlanta over Labor Day weekend and we could not be more pumped about it.  Our geek is strong...

@sprkls8506 Yes!  Fall decorating is the best and totally makes the end if summer worth it!

  • 2. Status? 8 DPO

    3. R/R?  1 week left in TWW hurry up please

    4. GTKY: With summer almost over what are some last minute plans you have before fall starts? I want to paint our deck railing sometime before it's cold

@sprkls8506 I love decorating porch for fall
    @vlagrl29 happy BD!!!
@rosemaryandthyme I've never heard of dragoncon

  • 2. Status? CD22 7DPO
    3. R/R? even though I have no students back to work has started for professional development :( although like @sprkls8506 I'm so ready for fall candles and decorations!
    4. GTKY: With summer almost over what are some last minute plans you have before fall starts? Another BBQ and wedding dress shopping with and for my baby sister :)
DS born 04/22/15, Pregnant again 03/01/17 however loss due to PPROM at 20+6 weeks now TTC rainbow
  • I love that the fall stuff is already out! A few weeks ago I got a cute little haunted house. Decorating is a huge distraction for me so I can't wait.

@shri929 I def need to get to yankee candle for some fall candles!
  • @shri929 have fun dress shopping.  I love all things weddings!
  • 1. Not new

    2. CD 1

    3. CD 1. Totally sucks but not surprising.

    4. I'm jus trying to spend as much time at my moms pool in the sun as I can. DH and I have also enjoyed having breakfast and coffee outside on the weekends. So I plan to do that as much as I can before it's just too chilly out. I also love fall candles and smells. It's the only thing that helps me with the transition!

  • 2. Status? CD 9. WTO. But benched.
    3. R/R? Down 9 lbs... close to 9.5 lbs. Hoping to get down to the 10 lbs. lost this week (before pre-O weight gain occurs!).
    4. GTKY: With summer almost over what are some last minute plans you have before fall starts? I have some pre-fall trips planned. I'm going to Oregon in a few weeks. And I have a trip to Disney planned at the end of September. Super excited for these! Also hoping to use the pool a few more times between now and closing it... if the weather lets me.

sprkls8506 LOL. I was just thinking about Fall TV over the weekend! On one hand I don’t want to wish away the summer, but on the other… yeah, ready for fall.

@rosemaryandthyme Have fun with DragonCon!!!  And I definitely had bloat issues after my MCs. Sucks! I recently got put on a water pill and I think it’s helping.

  • 1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): New in the last few weeks
    2. Status? 1dpo I believe, but I still have no idea what the hell my body is doing for sure.
    3. R/R? I'm currently trying to plan two events at the same time, both one week apart. The biggest one being my wedding reception which is next Friday. I feel guilty, but honestly could care less about any of the details at this point. It's been such an absolute s**t storm of crappy events over the last two months that I'm completely emotionally drained. It's not formal, and is honestly more like an over-sized country bonfire/BBQ. We FINALLY got around to eloping last January after years of being together and we're now getting around to celebrating the event. We're pretty casual people, but I cannot get myself excited about the details. I'm hoping as things come together over the next week I'll snap out of it and remember how incredibly lucky I am to have a DH that after years together still curls my toes and makes my heart flutter.
    4. GTKY: With summer almost over what are some last minute plans you have before fall starts? My plan for the remainder of the summer is to try an tackle the disaster of a remodel project that is currently my house before the snow flies. My husband is in construction and they're right when they say their projects are always the last to get done. I have no walls ladies. NO WALLS! I'm going on months of no walls, no kitchen, and a bathtub that can't be used. I just want to hang a flipping picture, and put utensils in an actual drawer for crying out loud. *end rant*
  • @ELeighMay  your reception sounds fun. Hopefully you can enjoy it!   I would be annoyed with the house as well.  I hope he gets some walls up for you soon!
  • ELeighMay Ouch. Well, hopefully the wedding reception goes great and you have a fun time with friends and family. And hopefully you get some walls before it gets too cold out!

  • @MooFish2364 I am also trying to get in lots of pool time. I thought yesterday was going to be perfect but it was not!! And today is gloomy! Hopefully tomorrow.

@dpjennifer we are doing Disney in Sept too! Doing the Halloween party which we have never done before. Also, don't want to wish summer away but I need something good to watch at nite! We just finished Ozark and now I feel like I can't find anything I want to watch!!

@ELeighMay  I hope you are able to enjoy your reception! And omg we lived with no walls for awhile when re-did our house! I hope the projects go well and you are able to put some pics up!

  • @sprkls8506 we just finished watching ozarks too!  Good but had to close my eyes several times!!!
  • @Mack2342 the toe part!!! I couldn't watch!!!!
  • @sprkls8506 for sure there were a couple other parts and I don't consider myself squeamish at all but it got to me lol
  • @Mack2342 I am def squeamish!!! Def some other parts that were too much to watch! I love Jason Bateman and really hope there is a season 2.
  • @ELeighMay @dpjennifer I'm dying from the gifs! I get it @ELeighMay DH and I remodeled a rowhome built in 1880 - I loved it but the work we did was crazy and took forever! I hope the NEW owners love it- we were relived to sell it when it was done.

Sorry for the comment and run- will catch up later. I've got to make dinner now and watch the latest GOT!
  • @dpjennifer Best GIF! I seriously cracked up at work and my co-worker looked at me like I was losing it. It's even funnier for me with my DH and I being on opposite sides of the political wall, pun intended.
  • 1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): Hi, I created an intro a few days ago. Early loss at 7ish weeks and had a D&C on 8/2.
    2. Status? Waiting for my first period before I can TTC again.
    3. R/R? I had my post-surgery follow-up with my OB yesterday. She freaked me out about not being happy with my thyroid levels the last time they were tested on 7/5 while pregnant. (I'm hypo.) She said if they weren't in the ideal range I would be benched until we could get them straightened out. Well, my results came back and I'm exactly in the middle of where I should be. It's the best news I've had in weeks!
    4. GTKY: With summer almost over what are some last minute plans you have before fall starts? We are heading to the beach next week. To be honest, I hate traveling, but I think it will be a good escape for me with all I've gone through lately.
  • @GeekBeagle that's great about your levels! And the beach sounds like fun!
  • @GeekBeagle enjoy your travels and glad you got some good news

    @dpjennifer  great gif!

  • 1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): intro'd last week, so still pretty new

    2. Status? Still benched until after first post D&C AF.

    3. R/R? Even though I know I probably shouldn't, I started temping again this week. I just want to know where I am in my potential cycle! Also not related, but I have had awful headaches the past two days, which I'm not sure if it could be because my HCG is still dropping?

    4. GTKY: With summer almost over what are some last minute plans you have before fall starts?  We are going to the coast next week on vacation and I couldn't be more excited. We have a family tradition of going each year, and it's been too long since I've taken an actual vacation at work. Can't wait for a few days off!!
  • @jchpg Yep, we're doing our 1904 railroad brick home. It's a PIA, but I keep telling myself when it's done it'll all be worth it.
And, ooohhhhh GOT! I don't miss it either, but this was a pretty uneventful week. That must mean next week all hell is going to break loose!
  • 1. Not too terribly new. Loss in April
    2. Status....still over here waiting for this cycle wrap up. Estimated 44 days last cycle with 40 and counting this cycle. It's cruel really! I just want a normal cycle so we can start actively trying next month.
    3. Rant...see above I suppose. Rave - still just prepping for a week long vacay coming up next week!
    4. Vacation. Maybe I should spend the next week packing!
@pumpkinpancake having vacay planned is the only way I am functioning right now! Taking off work is key! Ha
@GeekBeagle well here's to one bit of good news. That's Great!
@ELeighMae sometimes I want to just do all the home projects, and then am quickly reminded that I live here and will need to while in progress. Blah
    @rosemaryandthyme embrace the geek
@sprkls8506 I'm such a tv gal...always pumped for fall shows to come back on, and football I suppose.
@Mack2342 Maybe paint your railing during the rest of your TWW?!
  • Thank you all!  I love to GIF!

DH and I are watching GOT tonight.  Woot!

sprkls8506 YAY!  We’re going late Sept. Not doing the Halloween party, but seriously excited about the Food and Wine Festival!

GeekBeagle YAY for good thyroid test results!!!

  • @dpjennifer congrats on the weight loss!
    1. Not new, at all. I'm like dumbledore or something.
    2. About 12DPO BFN this morning, looks like drinks will be on order for my 39th birthday 8/30. Sigh.
    3. R/R: I agree with the fall TV, there's nothing on right now! Waiting for PBS's Vietnam documentary, Victoria, etc.
    4. GTKY: none. I'm a whiny bitch when it's hot out, so bring it on, fall!!! :):):)
    Me: 39 DH: 39
CP 1/25/16 4.5 weeks, developed Graves' disease
  • 1. Not new
    2. End of cycle should be here this weekend. Trying to wait to test.
    3. Rave: I have been going back to work these past few days . I teach and was off for the summer. It's good to get me time, even if it's at work. School officially starts tomorrow.
Rant: the school I am at asked me to coach cross country. I had to cancel 2 practices because no one would show up and at the first practice it was just me and a 2ND grader. The first meet is supposed to be next week and the principal thinks it's okay to put all of the students in the race without practicing. That would definitely not fly in my old school district due to risk of injury.
    4. On my last half day off, we went to the pool.

@vlagrl29 I was counting down the days, too. I needed to get out of the house.
@dpjennifer  congrats on the weight loss.
@mrschx  where are you going on vacation?
@pumpkinpancake  I get hormonal migraines so I think it could be a possibility that your headaches are hcg related. Sorry about it.
@GeekBeagle  glad to hear your thyroid levels are where they should be.
@ELeighMay good luck on the reception, I remember how stressful all of that stuff was 4 years ago.
@MooFish2364 a girl after my own heart,if I could live at the pool I would.
@rosemaryandthyme  good luck on your first tww.
@shri929 what do you teach? I think we have a few teachers on this board.
@Mack2342 stay strong, that's my goal for these next few days.
  • 2. Status? CD1 WTO

    3. R/R? I'm in a bad mood. Enough said.

    4. GTKY: With summer almost over what are some last minute plans you have before fall starts? Does getting my fall decorations our of storage and anticipating putting them up count? But really, we are going to the Air Force ball in a few weeks, so that is something to look forward to. I love a reason to put on a pretty dress and enjoy some adult time.

  • sprkls8506  Can't wait for American Horror Story....always hoping they will make it good again.  Also, Game of THrones is getting me through the summer lull of uninteresting tv.

@rosemary&thyme Yah my bloat took forever to go away and then it turned into a bloat (aka jiggly tummy) from comfort eating.  weep womp

@Mack2342 Hopefully it won't get cold too soon! I am still loving this weather.  you've done a bit of home improvement this year right?

shri929 so soon?  wtf?  I start next Wednesday and I thought that was early.

@MooFish2364 CD1 is hell.  I feel your pain sista.

@dpjennifer still applauding your weight loss.  Keep it up!  I am doing a bit of my own if this tww turns up a bfn.

ELeighMay we were thinking of a kitchen redo but the sound of it is not enticing. My friend is doing it this week.  It's one of those cookie cutter companies that comes in and does it quick. If she has good luck we might do the same.

@GeekBeagle  sorry about the possible bench. Is there anything you can do to be proactive about it?  I know nothing of medicine so don't know how that all works.

@mrschx  At least you have a vaycay coming up!  ANd maybe it will coincide with FW?!

@amberruka I'm your bitchy opposite. I hate the cold.

@rklinge0  I lol'd thinking about you just standing around with a second grader.  I can't beleive you are back at work already.  I guess I am the lucky one out of us teachers....August 23=doom

    AFM...

    1. PLease tell me I'm not the OG of this board. Coming upon the first anniversary of my first ectopic loss in September.  I've had 2 more since then, one CP and one MMC @ 8? weeks.

    2.  Currently 7DPO thought about POASing and ate a vegan pizza instead, so later tonight when I feel crampy and bloated from eating too much I will probably convince myself I am PG and poas....or eat another pizza.

    3. Rant: My husband has forbade me from watching GOT because he is not caught up because he wastes his time doing dumb things. So I watch it in secrecy with the blinds drawn and the door locked.  I will rewatch it with him and act surprised at all the right times.  I am a terrible wife I know, shhhhhh.
Rave:  Must say, this season is amazing so far.

    4.  I'm just gonna soak up the sun until back to teaching.....and I am sure there will be about 10 people who got pg over the summer.

  • @justsuzie Ugh... no, I'm still here too.  There are a few of us making up the 'bitter old hag' contingent. :)

  • @justsuzie LMAO picturing you watching GOT in secrecy. I would totally do the same thing!

And yes, any remodel sucks.  We didn't have much choice when we moved in,  the kitchen had mold and most of the cupboards were rotten. I would never willingly take on that nightmare if given the choice.
  • ELeighMay Hanna is my power animal.
  • @justsuzie I can't wait for American Horror Story!!! I might be one of the only ones who doesn't watch GOT.
  • @sprkls8506 I don't watch GOT either! My husband does, but I could never get into it.
  • @justsuzie I hit my year this past weekend.  And yes we re-finished our master bathroom and I love it
  • @sprkls8506 I don't watch it either.  My DH does. I tried but can't not my thing
