We have a Cravings thread, so why not an Aversions one? Tell me what food your pregnant brain is now horrified about.
For myself, I can say that bacon was stomach-churning in my last pregnancy, and it would seem I am right on track to hate it with this one. Just the thought of it makes me want to run far away!
Fish. I haven't even tried to fix it because the thought makes me want to hurl. Someone in the cravings thread mentioned lobster and omg no way lol. Also one morning last week went to eat my normal Greek yogurt and nope no way was that happening.
Last pregnancy was all poultry but this time it seems good so far in the poultry department.
@kindbytealikat that is so funny, I was totally the opposite with my daughter! I could only eat fish and chicken for protien. I ended up making myself scallops for Thanksgiving that year because turkey smelled like sewage to me
Coffee!! I'm very sad about this becaus I love coffee and I need coffee. In my last pregnancy my coffee scented candle made me ill and now I can't drink it!!! What is life?? Mashed potatoes repulse me too as well anything I cook. I've done a LOT of to go orders lately and have had MH cook.
Cheese or anything "heavy" like burgers, quesadillas, burritos, eggs, etc. Meat has been a pretty bad one too but I try to push through it and putting hot sauce on it (or anything) really helps. I think the vinegar in it calms things down for me.
Pizza! Precious, wonderful pizza. I used to eat it all the time. I had 2 pieces a few nights ago and barfed my brains out! Now the idea of pizza makes me want to puke. Oh and coffee..precious coffee after 2 times of throwing up after my morning cup I cut it out.
Hard boiled eggs, which isn't cool because it's an easy way to keep my protein intake up. Aversions come and go this pregnancy. My pregnancy with DD was green vegetables. She loves them now, though!
With DS I hated all meat. Despised it. With DD food in general was my enemy. I'm dreading this part of pregnancy. I SO BADLY want a pregnancy where I only have cravings and no aversions. Does such a thing exist?!
I'm so early at this point that I haven't had any aversions. So I'm stuffing my face with {ERR deleted food word so as to not trigger an aversion for you (lol)} while I can.

Meat in general is starting to be a problem. With DS it was only chicken that I couldn't eat and I was crazy about steak so I'm a little bummed that that's off the menu now. But right now almost everything sounds terrible since the morning sickness has me feeling gross all day.
Mine is egg whites. I got DH an egg white delight sandwich from McDonald's and I had to go walk the dog lol anything to get out of the apartment. My dog loved it but I couldn't stand it. On the other hand, I am hungry and everything you're describing sounds delicious right now lol
No aversions yet (I'm sure they are coming!) but with my first the smell of bacon had me sick and just the thought of green olives stuffed with blue cheese would induce vomiting. No clue why haha.
I didn't have any aversions until today. I turned 6 weeks pregnant today and I read somewhere that "baby now looks like a tiny shrimp"... so there's go shrimp from my food lineup. I just can't look at a piece of shrimp and not be weirded out by it.
Same boat over here! It's not as bad as it was in the beginning, just had to get through the first couple days without it but its definitely still rough
Guacamole tastes like a tequila shot. Pizza tastes like medicine. Kombucha tastes like perfume. It's like ive got an instagram filter on my tongue. mashed potatoes and gingerbread are dope tho.
I think I have an aversion to this thread because my relationship with food is weird right now lol I was out last night and Diners Drive Ins and Dives was on and they were making sausage and I was like
@saralee797-2 I was watching DDD last night too! And everything looked theoretically delicious but also gross because that's how most everything looks right now
Anything healthy, apparently. So I'm not eating much because I don't want to start the downward spiral of everything carb.
Oh, you mean you aren't living off of noodles and granola bars? This is my life now....
On my list of things I want to eat: wonton strips (you know the kind you put in salads? I want to eat an entire bag. or two), nachos, french toast sticks, oily hashbrowns, a huge tuna hoagie. I mean, it's basically like I have a bad hangover.
I would eat noodles and granola bars all the live long day if I didn't have to be SUPER careful with weight gain. I'm considered obese, as is so I'm already dreading my first OB appt where I'm sure to get a lecture on my weight.
Anyone else been really put off by non food smells? The food aversions haven't hit yet but our scented garbage bags and my toothpaste both made my stomach turn yesterday.

The smell of powdered bone and tooth. And blood. And other people's breath. Oh! And cigarette smoke.
