Any appointments coming up? I had an appointment with a new OB scheduled for next week since I want to switch practices. I am taking tomorrow off so I have a long birthday weekend, and I called to see if there was a cancellation-there was! So now I have an unexpected appointment tomorrow. Hoping she can hear the heartbeat with the Doppler tomorrow!
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here) I go back and forth between great and awful mentally. More good days than bad lately. I'm past all of my loss milestones and have had 3 great ultrasounds already so I'm trying to just enjoy this pregnancy and hoping to be past the pukey/exhausted stage soon.
GTKY: What is your favorite season and why?
Fall/winter. I live in the DEEP south on the coast line and it's always hot and humid. I love when we have a couple months of crisp/cooler air. I also love Thanksgiving and Christmas and the whole time of year is just joyful for me.
I'm going to post this in the question thread too, but NT scans: are they standard practice for most doctors or is it not recommended to be routine unless you're AMA? My old OB never offered it with my last pregnancy, and I'm wondering if I should ask about it tomorrow at the new OB appointment since I'm coming up on 12 weeks.

Any appointments coming up?
u/s was yesterday and my first appointment with my OB is 8/22
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here)
Seeing the heartbeat yesterday and knowing baby is measuring perfectly has really helped me, I'm letting myself start planning for this baby. I know something could still happen, but am really going to try not to let myself worry. We're going to tell our immediate families this weekend (I think, I'm not sure how DH wants to tell his family) and I'm looking forward to their reactions.
GTKY: What is your favorite season and why?
I love fall. I love the cooler weather, getting to wear jeans and cozy sweaters, football, pumpkin spice everything (except pumpkin pie - yuck), and the leaves changing colors.

Any appointments coming up?
Working on scheduling the NIPT and then I have a regular appointment at the end of the month.
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here)
I am pretty much over this constant nausea. I wake up starving and nauseous and it never really goes away. I also have had both hips start giving me trouble and it's really early for this crap. Ha. Overall after seeing baby kicking in there and hearing/seeing the heartbeat last week I am holding tight to the 98-99% have successful pregnancies statistic. I'm sure the closer I get to my next appointment the more my doubts will surface.
GTKY: What is your favorite season and why?
I love summer and fall. Summer is the beach and the pool and long days. But fall? Fall is PSLs and crisp weather and colorful leaves and leggings and tunics and boots and scarves. Haha. But I don't get much fall when I live in the desert.
Any appointments coming up? Follow-up ultrasound tomorrow to make sure baby is growing appropriately
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here) I'm learning I don't do well the day before ultrasounds! That moment of truth is so scary... I'm dreading it. I'm feeling so very normal (not pregnant) too, which isn't giving me any comfort (even though the same was true in my last pregnancy, and I did make it far beyond the first tri that time).
GTKY: What is your favorite season and why? I really enjoy all of the seasons - change is good - but fall would probably be my favorite as well.
I asked my (different) doctor this time if I'd be doing the NT scan in addition to the NIPT, since it seems... redundant? unnecessary? And interestingly, it's still their practice to combine the two, despite the very low rate of false negatives in NIPTs (although the reasoning wasn't too persuasive).
Any appointments coming up? Had my surprise US yesterday. Next appointment is Aug. 24!! It felt so far away yesterday and now it feels pretty close!
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here: I'm doing really well after yesterday's appointment. It was a huge sigh of relief to see LO and know there's a heartbeat. The Diclectin is definitely helping my nausea but it is making me so sluggish. Which my toddler is not a fan of.
GTKY: What is your favorite season and why? Definitely Fall. I start to get a little crazy from the summer heat but hate the winter snow/cold. Fall is such a short but beautiful season here. It's cool enough to enjoy being outside but not so cold that I don't want to leave my house.
How far along are you? 7 weeks, 4 days
Any appointments coming up? Had an U/S today, and OB appointment on the 28th.
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here) Lately I had been pretty much at wits end with worry, but today was the most beautiful day ever. Afterwards I got to talk with my soon to be brother-in-law, and he said that his wife was going to send us their Doppler so that we can try it out when we get father along with our pregnancy.
GTKY: What is your favorite season and why? I love the fall. I love the leaves, apple cider and pumpkins. The brisk air of the fall is also great.

I'm a bit moody and very tired. In the stomach department, I'm sooooooo thankful for the Diclegis!! I'm back to just trying to figure out what I can tolerate eating. Did I say I'm so tired? I'm back to working in August and I barely have energy for anything. My eyes are closing now but I'm waiting for SO to bring me my fish sticks. Ugghh
GTKY: What is your favorite season and why?
Okay. So, I'm the oddball. I was born in spring...I love spring, summer...I love warm weather.

Any appointments coming up? I have an OBGYN appointment tomorrow afternoon
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here) I'm doing pretty well. TW I always feel encouraged when I pass my loss milestone (7 weeks) for the MC before my son. I also was so happy to see the heartbeat and that the baby is growing well at the dating US.
GTKY: What is your favorite season and why? Like so many others mentioned, there's something really so invigorating about fall. I live in the south, so it's not like we get any real break from the heat, but we still like to celebrate fall, decorate the house, and dress like it's fall, oh and of course PSLs (decaf this year) lol

How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here)
I am doing better today than yesterday. I had it set in my mind yesterday that because I felt like I had lost my symptoms it was over. I not only had a loss in 2013 but couldn't get pregnant after my son without help from an RE and that was all long and dramatic. This was a SUPER surprise and today I am feeling like I have to just be ok with what is happening. I need to enjoy the time I am pregnant and if by chance this doesn't work out, I need to feel like at least I had the chance to go through the beginning stages again. I am going to be 40 in February and had really moved on...had some great plans in the next few years (this hadn't been one of them) so I am just going to be grateful for what life throws at me.
GTKY: What is your favorite season and why?
Absolutely the fall! I love wearing sweaters and eating fall related foods

How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here)
I'm okay. Dealing with cramping in the mornings and after walking a lot, trying to stay calm. Getting very anxious waiting for my NIPT results to come back. Any day now... Praying for good results. Stopped Progesterone so I'm a little nervous, but glad to be done with those things. Such a mess.
GTKY: What is your favorite season and why? I love Spring, mostly the mid-end of it when everything starts turning green and flowers start blooming! I like Summer too because my babies are home and we can be outside almost daily, but I don't love humidity.
Any appointments coming up? Tues. OB, I am planning on asking to have the Panorama testing done for some peace of mind.
How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here) I was relieved to have gotten to the point where I didn't need to go to the OB every week for u/s, then after a few days I think nerves set back in. I took a HPT (wondfo) last night and the line was so much lighter now than it was at 4wks so I started getting nervous- consult Dr Google, and found a bunch of blog posts about the hormone levels being so high the urine had to be diluted with water- tried that today and got a much better result. So I guess I am back to crazy PGAL mode; full effect.
GTKY: What is your favorite season and why? Anything but summer, because hot weather is gross

I had a good ultrasound today! Baby is measuring at 8 weeks exactly with a strong heartbeat. I've been an anxious mess, and I'm very relieved (for the moment, at least). I know there are no guaranties, but I'm starting to believe we might actually bring a baby home in March.
But because I can't seem to just relax... I've been googling progesterone levels. I was on supplements until 11 weeks during my last pregnancy, and even though my level this time looked good at 3w3d, I pushed them to test it again at my appointment last week. They told me today it was 14 (and change) at 7 weeks and that they want it to be above 10. I didn't question them, but from my googling after my appointment, it sounds like a lot of doctors want it higher than 10 (and higher than 14) at this point. I should ask my OB again - perhaps would get a different opinion, since there are 7 doctors in the practice - but I'm tempted to just start using the progesterone suppositories I still have on hand for the next 2-3 weeks. Anyone happen to know anything about good progesterone levels at 7 weeks?
Sorry to ask a semi-medical question earlier about progesterone. I ended up sending a message to my normal OB (not the one I saw today), so at least I'll get a second opinion from someone I trust about whether it's worth supplementing now or monitoring further.

Gotta love PGAL thoughts.
@maureenbioni Drink tons of water! Is Vicks safe in pregnancy? Or maybe Baby Vicks? I have no clue, but if it is maybe that'll help enough to at least get you SOME sleep. Hugs!
Woke up and my right boob hurts! How sad is
it I get excited when they hurt?
I'm 34 and have had 4 m/c's at 6 weeks and under. The first was my first pregnancy and it was devastating. Then came our rainbow. She will be 3 in November. The next 3 m/c's all occurred in the time we were trying for #2. I was getting set up with the fertility specialists when I found out I was pregnant again.

I see the genetic counselor on Wednesday. My OB refers NIPTs and such out to the genetics office. I will be 35 when the baby is born, so I qualify as a geriatric mother (wtf, geriatric!?? They couldn't come up with a nicer diagnosis code name?) but apparently my elderly status and loss history qualifies me for more testing that's covered by insurance, so yay?
How are you doing?
I've had two good u/s and I can reliably find baby on Doppler so I'm starting to let myself settle into this pregnancy.
GTKY: I like the first few weeks of all of the seasons. I think it is so exciting as things start turning. Even seeing those first few snowflakes is exhilarating. By the end of each season I'm usually ready for the next one to roll around.
Can I just say that I love this PGAL check in?? I find it so hard to connect with such large numbers of members. It's nice to have this smaller group that I already feel so close to! You ladies are awesome! So happy we get to be on this journey together!

I also worry about telling my 5 yr DS. Only one close friend knows who lives down the road, so she can watch DS for my appointments. I just am not thrilled with telling people even after 2 good ultrasounds.

@pettycrocker I've had multiple good ultrasounds and have pretty serious nausea/vomiting/general pregnancy symptoms, and I think I still will have that "is this real this time?" feeling until I can feel the baby moving. That's when it set in with my son that it was really happening, my body was doing what it should.
@hdaley when or if you make an announcement is up to you. don't feel pressured by how you think others may react by not knowing sooner. If it still feels more stressful than exciting to announce, I would wait. I've had friends that I haven't seen in a while but still keep in touch with on social media that I had no idea were expecting until they were well into their third trimester or posted a birth announcement!
