  • @becausescience we love to make cauliflower cilantro lime "rice" - tastes like Chipotle's rice, but instead we make it with cauliflower. It's delicious!
  • Just recently (this last week) have been craving strawberry milkshakes. It's weird to me because I've always considered myself milk intolerant as anything more than a yogurt is bad news.. but I've been drinking these milkshakes down and no negative effects on my bowels! Baby likes dairy! Lol
  • Team Wendy's. I hate McDonald's. I have no feelings on the Fries either way but the food? Vom. Wendy's chicken nuggets are everything.

byt right now (granted it's 8am) fries sound super yuck.

  • McDonalds > Burger King > Wendy's

I was into Wendy's as a kid but I feel like their quality went way downhill 5-10 years ago.
  • @bookishbaker agree... the last time I went there was a major disappointment
  • This thread made me get McDonalds fries. Yummmmm.

I'm horribly lactose intolerant and while pregnant last time I would do regular dairy. It was amazing!
  • Ugh my stomachs been on the fritz lately, but I really want to get a spicy crispy chicken wrap for lunch... I know I'd probably regret it later, but what's a pregnant girl to do?!?

Get the wrap. Please. And then come back and tell us how amazing it was.  :D

i haven't been able to eat today, can you tell?  :D
  • It's past 10 and DH is making me ranch and bacon pasta salad. It was a "need" I couldn't shake out of my mind!

I hate feeling like I'm hungry yet also nauseous at the same time. Like I feel like there's something I could eat that would make me feel better but I don't know what it is.
This. Exactly how I feel. Then when I find something that sounds even remotely tolerable, after 3 bites I'm so nauseous. But then still hungry!

  • Can't say I always *enjoy* it, but I've been at least tolerating (read: force-feeding myself) organic whole milk yogurt + chia + handful of nuts and dried fruit + fresh fruit for breakfast most days. I feel like it sets me up for a decent GI/energy day better than carby stuff, esp before a 12 hr nursing shift :expressionless:

Otherwise: I've had a couple of heavenly BLTs (well-cooked) with TONS OF MAYO and garden tomatoes ... and my husband cooking Trader Joe's ravioli or rice&beans is my lifeline.

My nausea hasn't been terrible if I I healthy-snack regularly, but I can't stand mint-anything half the time (so brushing teeth is fun).

  • @orbmaker I was that way with my last pregnancy! I'd brush my teeth and dry heave the whole time because of the toothpaste. And half the time I'd throw up less than an hour later and have to brush my teeth again. Repeat, all day, every day.
  • I saw a post about pumpkin something or other on Instagram and now I can't stop searching for fall dessert recipes on Pinterest. Pecan pie cheesecake is in my near future.
  • Watermelon with lime squeezed over it. It is so refreshing, and able to satisfy me wanting something tart and sweet at the same time.

  • Ginger ale has been a godsend!
  • @ivfgotthistwice I thought gingerale world be my savior but instead I have had 24 cans sitting on the counter for 2 weeks.  can't stand the stuff right now. too sweet
  • Watermelon.  Can't get enough!

  • Give me allllll the tomato based foods. Spaghetti with sauce, today I had hamburger soup for lunch and it was ah-mazing!!!! I see chicken Parmesan in my near future.
  • @bb3vj3n If you can find them wherever you are there are some hippie-ish lower sugar brands of ginger ale that aren't nearly as sweet as the more mainstream brands. Some are hard to find though.

AFM I was having a really healthy fruit and oatmeal day until I found that magical kit kat bar...
  • A pot pie and some watermelon have been all I could stomach today. My toddler had diarrhea, so that didn't do my stomach any good.
  • I just ordered a tuna wrap.... my last pregnancy my OB told me one can or less per week was fine. I've been craving it big time, so I figured that one wrap won't hurt me/babies! Now if only the delivery would hurry up!!!
  • I'm having a really hard time because now, I'm not wanting to eat anything. Everything makes me low - grade (or more) nauseous. Having a rough day... stayed home from work. Support people don't know what to do with me.  :( I don't want to lose anymore weight. Terrible day today (terrible night last night).

Breakfasts I do yogurt or oatmeal with some sort of fruit or a hard boiled egg with avocado.

Lunches are typically a salad, or bell peppers with hummus and Applegate turkey slices.

I love to cook and have been making lots of SkinnyTaste recipes for dinner.  Favorites are the Grilled Chicken Bruchetta and the shrimp taquitos (SO GOOD!).  I love making grilled chicken thighs with various side salads (Skinnytaste Southwestern Black bean salad is also delicious!) or just a simple tomato and avocado salad.

Last night I made Chicken Broccoli Ziti though and it was amazing.  I needed pasta.

Right before I got pregnant I started drinking one cup of soy milk per day.  Bloodwork I had done with my RE showed that my estrogen was on the lower end, and I've heard from several sources that drinking soy can naturally increase estrogen.  I got KU within a few weeks of doing this.  It may be just a coincidence, but I'm going to go with it because I swear I could feel my body responding to it.  A cup of vanilla soy is perfect for me to stomach in the morning heading out the door to work and holds me over until I get settled with my real breakfast.

Hugs @ishmoney, I'm with you on the nausea and clueless support people. Just focus on getting through these days. I keep saying to myself "I don't think I can do this again." But in the scheme of things, this is temporary and shall too, pass.
  • I had a delicious quesadilla for lunch. And I just threw it up. I give up. I can't eat anything without throwing up.
  • @justkeeptrying I'm with ya! Although, last night I had broth and half a green apple and didn't vomit. Huzzah!
  • @ishmoney I'm so sorry you are having a rough time and are lacking support and understanding. Hugs. If anything even remotely sounds good, no matter how improbable it seems as far as making you nauseous. Like even though tacos sound like they could be too spicy and cause heartburn, if I just eat it anyway, I usually feel less nauseous. Hopefully something sounds good to you soon. <3
  • Thank you @isntthatspeshul and @mdfarmchick. I have a delivery of crab salad and two slices of pizza coming at some point from the SO. I don't know what that'll be like. Everything smells so bad. I WISH I COULD MUSTER THE DESIRE TO EAT WHATEVER EVERYONE ELSE IS EATING!! I really want a craving.  :s

  • SPAGHETTI.

    ALL. THE. SPAGHETTI.

  • @crossfitbabybump, yaaaassssss!!!!!!!! Seriously. Made some for me and DS the other day and it was ah-mazing!!!!
  • SPAGHETTI.

    ALL. THE. SPAGHETTI.

    You're speaking my love language
  • @justkeeptrying that's all I've had for dinner! Every. Night. This. Week.

    Lol

  • @crossfitbabybump, my two downfalls are that DS is unbelievably messy and I don't want to give him a bath every night, and spaghetti is the ONLY food my DH doesn't like. Ugh.

@ShawnnaO girl go get you some spaghetti!!! :D
  • @justkeeptrying I totally get not wanting to clean it up with a child lol but your DH!? What!? Is he not human? lol :)

    Spaghetti for life! haha!

  • @crossfitbabybump, right?! I can't even get mad at him because I'm a super picky eater and he will literally eat anything I make for him. Except spaghetti. And even that he'll eat it every once in a while. But if I start making it more than once a month, he won't be pleased.
