I can't think of anything juicy. I have probably lost 3 pounds this week from feeling so sick. But several pairs of my shorts did not fit. I eventually found a pair, and they too are uncomfortably snug, fortunately, they always loosen too much the day goes. So I decided I will be getting out my maternity clothes today and wearing my shorts and pants. DH says I am giving, DH can kiss my ass. Also, I told my boss I was pregnant yesterday, because I am pretty sure my coworker is pregnant, and my boss is a horrible person, so I know she will be a nasty b*tch when she finds out 2 of us are pregnant, but her anger will go to my coworker, since I was first.
This isn't juicy or exciting but I'm kind of liking keeping this pregnancy a secret and don't want to tell anyone. DH knows but keeps forgetting. He literally offered me a beer 2 days ago.
This pregnancy was very, very wanted and we're over the moon. But I have ZERO knowledge of infant care, and I don't think I've ever changed a diaper. I also don't like many other peoples' kids. Some, yes, but I don't immediately gravitate towards random babies or kids.
I'm also extremely overwhelmed by the idea of figuring out what stuff we need to buy/register for.
Needless to say I'll be doing a ton of reading and learning from STMs over the next 8 months.

@lund I relate to that so much. I have two kids of my own and still prefer them to most others
My FFFC:
I love to openly stop and stare at people who are trying to parallel park. Bonus points when I make eye contact with the driver -- it makes them way more flustered. It's something I started doing when I had an apartment with a balcony overlooking a side street in the city, and I've taken it out to the 'burbs where I am now.
@lund, Lucie's List is a great resource if you're feeling overwhelmed. She tackles every aspect of baby gear and even has suggested registries and lists of what you actually need. I never had a lot of time to research and test stuff and obsess. I just did what she told me to
***March '18 October Siggy Challenge: Halloween Costume Fails***
@lund I felt the EXACT same way with my DS. I found Lucie's List to be a great resource for what to buy/register for (https://www.lucieslist.com/). They have different price ranges, so it's not just all expensive stuff. They review a ton of products and I always go back to their website when we are in the market to buy something baby-related, especially if it's something big.

literally ALL OF THIS. I for certain have never changed a diaper. I go back and forth thinking we can totally do this and we're totally fucked.
@holly321 I totally thought of Game of Thrones with the "Confess"...
My confession is... even though I still have many months til that moment, I am totally freaked out about the post partum part of having a baby...almost to the point I wish I wasn't pregnant so I wouldn't have to deal with it. Ack..
@lund I am in the same camp. This baby is wanted, but I am not a big fan of other people's kids. MH doesn't really like kids at all, so recently when we were talking to a good friend whose wife just had their first baby, the friend said something like "it's so much different because this one's mine" and MH responded "that's good, because I'm betting the rest of my life on that being true." @kmalls Oof, you staring at me while I *attempt* to parallel park would be enough to make me give up and flee in a panic. I consider myself a good driver, but we live in the country and parallel parking wasn't even on my driver's test. I've successfully done it a handful of times, but most of the time I'll just keep looking rather than try for a hard spot.

@ekendall09 I meannnnn, the commuter rail parking lot is another beast entirely. It's kill or be killed when it comes to getting a spot. If leaving a tire on the curb is your biggest problem that morning, you're doing things right
@lund, I could have written the same thing, word for word, when I was expecting my first. I feel protective towards kids, but I didn't know wtf to do with them, didn't want to interact with them, and had no clue what to talk to them about. I am much better now that I have my kid and understand what goes on in that little head, but I'm still not terribly excited by other people's kids. Parenthood is weird.
My FFFC: I'm not a TV BINGER if it's a show I've seen a million times I don't so much binge watch but it'll be on in background. With new stuff it doesn't matter how good it is I can do about 3 episodes max.

THIS. Exactly. Like if someone leaves their kid with me all I know how to do is follow them around and make sure they don't die lol.

I could have written this post before I had DS. Actually, I probably did write a very similar post somewhere. Just read as much as you can (especially product reviews), ask questions, try not to get sucked into the idea that you need a ton of stuff. I second Lucie's List as a great resource. You'll figure it out. And a couple weeks after your baby is born, you'll be a pro at everything.
@lund you will be just fine. So much different when they are yours. One thing you will realize is that you learn as you go! My son is 3.5 and I'm still learning! Also Holding my son as a newborn I just lugged his little butt around, but other people's little babies are like glass and really scary lol
also @lund do what's right for you and baby. I know so many people came at me about BFing and how I HAD to do it because its the only way my baby would love me. I had panic attacks (in front of my Dr) because I was terrified to BF. She gave me info about formula and I did some research and I did what was best for me and my baby.
I have never heard of Lucie's list, might have to check it out, out of curiosity.
@lund Honestly we had too much stuff. Maybe when we're all further along we could start some kind of product recommendation post?
I like this idea. Some things aren't necessary they just make life simpler like changing table, diaper genie. It's so dependent on ppls opinion so it's good to get a wide range of opinions to compare
I guess my FFFC would be poor office etiquette when it comes to a shared printer. If you print something and you go to the printer and there is more stuff there then what you printed JUST TAKE WHAT BELONGS TO YOU!!!! I have had it happen twice (TODAY) where one of my co-workers took my stuff and didn't realize it until after I re-printed and got it. I know it's the same person because she has also come up to me with some paper asking me if they belonged to me.
*Edited to Add* I never participated with an FFFC in any other boards because it seemed like a mix of rants and confessions so it was a bit confusing. Usually I just commented that I agree with something. Damn me for getting over excited
I'm so tired at work right now. I also have a futon in my office, and a door, and my boss isn't here today. So I just shut the door, grabbed a blanket, curled up on the futon, and turned on The Great British Baking Show on Netflix (because it's great to fall asleep to!).
@Dumbgurl04, no worries. FFFC works pretty similarly to Unpopular Opinions, but is more expansive. So you share something you think, have done, will do, believe, enjoy, dislike that normally is a tad socially unacceptable or you know is unpopular.
For example, I could confess to watching someone at the park slip on a banana peel and laughing at them instead of helping them (didn't happen, but you get my drift).
ETA: the rants are usually responses to a confession. Like someone could be all "Ngoli, you inconsiderate turd! I always help banana peel victims!"

@holly321 I'm totally planning to go maternity shopping for pants this weekens because I have gained so much weight over the past year my regular pants are wayy too tight on me now. I had just started working out again like 2 weeks before my BFP but now that I'm pregnant I'm obviously not expecting to lose any weight! I still plan to work out to stay healthy but I figure I might as well buy the maternity pants now so I can be comfortable.
ETA- yesterday I was having really bad cramps so I just sat at my desk with my pants unbuttoned.
My confession:. I never stopped wearing my maternity hoodie from my last pregnancy. I love the cut, and the long torso, and wear it at least 3 times a week.
Speaking of which, I am totally on Old Navy's site right now buying it in more colors, and fully intend to be wearing them years from now.
@JJMNO1616 yeah I gained about 20 lbs while TTC. I'm just doing pregnancy in reverse - gaining weight and then getting KU. I'm definitely excited for maternity pants!
@Dumbgurl04 if it helps FFFC stands for Flame Free Friday Confessions. And, of course, they're not guaranteed to be flame free, and most board don't really mind if you rant instead, but it looks like this one might!
@JJMNO1616 I understand this completely! I gained weight due to personal issues and issues at work and just started trying to fix it when I got the BFP too. I cheated today with my jeans. I used a hair tie to hold the button today.

@JJMNO1616 Same. The bloat is so real right now, I just know one day soon I'm going to wake up with nothing that fits. I'm rocking the hair-band-button look on my jeans right now with a peplum top to cover the bloat, but it's not going to work much longer.
Confession: DH and I haven't DTD since I O'd. I know it's irrational but I'm too scared of something going wrong. Probably won't again until after the first US.
