Back from lining appt! My transfer date it set: next Monday, 7/8. Last Lupron tomorrow. And on Wed I start the joy of the PIO injections!

@Holls214 This time around I'm going to use a 1 inch needle instead of the 1.5. I'm pretty small and after injecting PIO for about 1.5 months I stared having numbness in my upper outer thighs. Even now, 4.5 months after I stopped injecting, it is still partially numb!

The dr thinks that maybe I injected too deep... anyway, I wonder if it will be more painful now because maybe before I didn't inject in the muscle but now I would? Not sure... first injection on Wed!

I'm so bruised from my PIO already and it's only been 4 days.

but on the bright side, transfer is tomorrow!!!!

@aligoodmorning1 Do you inject in your butt? Or thighs? I heard that in the thighs it is more painful.

@aligoodmorning1 make sure you massage the area after and place a heating pad on top of it for about 10 minutes

@Prudence9 I'm so excited for you! You have a date! There isn't a cancelation this time around. How exciting to make it one step forward. Hopefully my transfer will be right after yours. It's tentatively scheduled for 8/10 but I still need to see how everything goes after my ultrasound on Saturday.

@aligoodmorning1 congrats! How exciting to be PUPO! On the other hand that part is a bit of what I'm dreading because I think the anxiety of not knowing until the first few betas could possibly kill me. Good luck! Sending so much positivity your way.

ours was supposed to be next week but my hubs will be in London for work so we are scheduled for the 17th. I agree I think the wait after the FET will be the worst... I have good feelings for all of us. Lots of baby dust.

Yesterday my regular acupuncturist was out, so I saw a different one. And one of the things I asked her was to continue treating the numbness in my upper outer thighs because of the injections. She asked where I injected and I said "in the butt". Then, while I was on he table she said: "you know, you can also inject Lupron in the stomach". To which I answered: "I did inject Lupron in the stomach, but this I need to inject in the muscle"

I always find it funny when people that have no idea about fertility think they know much. Great, you know the name of one medication! Does she think I'm stupid to inject in a place that caused me so much suffering because I enjoy it? Ahh... (and btw- it was the PIO injections that caused me that. And it's been almost 5 months since I stopped them but the place is still numb, better than it was 5 months ago. But still not 100% back to normal. And yesterday I had to start again...)

oh she had another "smart" comment... she saw the PIO circles on my butt and said: "that must look funny in a bathing suit" to which I just rolled my eyes and said nothing.

@prudence9-2 seriously not looking forward to next Friday when I start PIO. The estrogen has given me the worst headaches every day argh. Anyone else get headaches with estrogen. I'm taking the pills.
My acupuncturist talked about IF to me while I was doing IUI. It's like if you don't know what you are talking about then don't say anything haha. Geez.

@Holls214 PIO are really not as bad as they seem. Yes, they caused me numbness. But day to day injection wasn't as bad. Some days hurt. Some days it doesn't and you wish it hurt because you're not sure you did it right! (The last two days were not painful at all and I'm worried about whether I did it right...) ahhh. Always something to worry about!

and yes, seriously, if you don't know about IF do us a favor and don't say anything about it! Haha

as for your question, this time around I got headache from the Lupron. But once I started with the estrogen patches the headaches almost went away! Are you taking anything?

when I had the crazy Lupron headaches, the nurse in my clinic suggested adding a cup of coffee along with the Tylenol so it will be closer to Excedrin Migraine. And it actually helped!! So maybe try that?

I will definitely try that. These are just horrible and dizziness to go along with it. Argh. Glad to hear the injections aren't too bad. I bet you are getting excited and getting closer!

@Holls214 it's not even about he number of embryos I have left. It's also about the time. If a cycle fails it takes a minimum of 2 months to start a new one... ahhh.

@prudence9-2 just one PGS tested boy. Yup this is our first go around. We have 8 total tested that are frozen. I wanted to do 2 but the doctor said I have a smaller cervix and didn't advise that.

This is my second FET.

got pregnant the first time. But the embryo stopped growing at 6w 1d

by the time I had the procedure I was over 9w. (We waited for a natural m/c but that didn't happen.)

what makes me so scared is that it was a normal embryo and we haven't found the cause for the m/c)

anyway, this was back in March....

Hi everyone there was so much to catch up on I can't remember who to tag but congrats to those that are Pupo that's such a big step! Also to everyone doing PIO I feel you I feel like I've spent most of my last year on it! I also started it yesterday and transfer is set for 8/7. I too have numbness from the PIO. I've got a friend that did ivf almost 9 yrs ago and she said she still has some spots of numbness so I think it's just the name of the game. My current med list is estrace 2mg 3x/day, estrogen patches, PIO 2cc, eventually I'll add oral progesterone and suppositories. I had my final lining check Tuesday and it was 10 tri, more blood work tomorrow. We're set to transfer our 2 remaining embryos as they are not tested and my history of repeat loss.

@kjplaza cool! We have the transfer on the same day!!! You're already at 2cc for PIO? My first 2 days were .5cc. For the next 3 days 1cc and from day of transfer 1.5cc.

I have esteogen patches. And today started 5 days antibiotics. In preparation for Monday.

@prudence9-2 it is from one ER yes. I have pcos. We were suprised so many made it. We got 12 total (I did have 26 during stims) 1 didn't make it and 8 all tested normal. Sorry to hear what happened earlier this year... that is horribly tough. I have never had a positive.
@kjplaza yay for being so close!! Sounds like quite the regiment. Fingers crossed for us all!

For me, out of the 8 that made it to blast, only 4 came back normal...
