@lestex , I'm so angry for you!!! That is absolutely ridiculous. We all do our research and make the best decisions we can for our children. But that kind of activism is way overboard in my opinion.

No, my address is not public on facebook i haven't spoken to this girl in 10 years so she doesn't have my current address. DH seems to think it'd be easy for anyone to get an address. I don't think we're unlisted. AND I think this girl works at the hospital affiliated with my ob office, but could she access our records? The envelope was addressed to me ANd my husband, which I think is odd and they knew we were having a boy, which we only found out 2 weeks ago. Anyway, I'm more pissed off than anything. The fact that the flyers sent to us pushed babywearing, breastfeeding, were anti sleep training and circumsicion was too much.
@lestex , if she accessed your info and was not directly involved in your care, that's a HIPAA violation and I would report her. Quite frankly, even if she is involved in your care, this is inappropriate use of information and I would still report her. But I can be a bitch like that.
@lestex I'm seconding what @NME44 has said. If anyone at my office used PHI for something like that, we'd all have to retrain on HIPAA and someone would be getting written up, if not fired. I'd complain/report them in heartbeat, too. But maybe I'm also just a bitch like that.
