This goes out to my FI...thanks for eating the grapes, cherries, and strawberries that I had packed for lunch when the bag of grapes was the next row down in the fridge and additional containers of cherries and strawberries were in the TW Fridge Smart containers that I JUST told you about.
This also goes to one of my new employees. Make sure you know who you are sending emails to before you hit send. Your comment about me made it to my inbox and your attempt to recall the message didn't work.
By the grace of God I will get through this Wednesday!
@livingoffpbjs well to make it worse I'm his boss lol. I just started on the 17th so he asked me a question about signage materials. 7 days in, I am not sure where you have procured signage material from for the last (10) years. So I wrote a really nice email back and asked for clarification about the vendor and I would work to get it ordered asap. He then forwarded my response (or so he thought) I assume to another coworker with "Unreal!!!" Sorry buddy that I don't know everything 7 days in, my apologies.
WTF to the super rude lady who called our office. We don't have a receptionist so instead there's a phone group that includes me, the two office managers, and one of the marketing specialists and if someone hits the button for the operator it will go to one of us. Most of the time they are just quick transfers to tech support but I got the absolute rudest lady today. I won't go into the whole story but I let out a loud "Bitch!" after I hung up the phone.
@jaclyn0405 Id be making note for his next review! No matter how much experience someone has, there is always some type of learning curve when you start at a new company. Fidiots.
@gusgus14 hahahaha i love doing that. I know its a horrible thing to do but some coworkers that piss me off, when they walk away from me I give them the finger lol
I needed to vent. My SO has been an asshat lately yelling about keeping sink clean and food out of it. Talked to my DS his step son in a angry tone about leaving stuff i. His bowl without rinsing it. So today his 12yr old daughter left half a bowl of of cocoa pepples in the sink and i left it there disnt say shit to her so he came home saw it and didnt say shit about it and rinsed it down the drain. I flipped shit then he talks to her in a calm tone explai ing that bugs growing i lost it even more and told him he cant sit there and gave double standards and talk down to my kid and not his. His response was i have to constanly tell my son to do it. I said and we have told ur DD this for 5 yrs now too so i am not liking this. Bc if i daid simething to her him and her tell me i am acting like hitler. Uhg
Thing 1 got sent home from preschool with a fever yesterday... I missed the call bc I'd just left my desk for a meeting, they waited a bit before calling DH, and he didn't see the missed call right away either. So it was probably 1:15 between the first call (to me) and when DH got there to pick him up. DH said his temp was only 99 and he'd been playing fine since they got home (an hour or so). Half an hour later his temp was 102.6! He didn't want dinner and just wanted to lay in my lap, saying his throat hurt. :'( So obviously we are home from school today. He's still running about 99.5, trying to decide if I should try & get him into the pedi office after his nap.
@bainidhedub Tough call... I usually call if it gets over 102 but they don't want to see her. I'd probably give it a night--if there aren't other symptoms--and call tomorrow AM if all is not well.
My WTF goes to DH. He messed up our taxes and now had to pay taxes--our city has very high taxes and it is totally worth it for the awesome schools/community etc--not the end of the world. He keeps going on and on and on complaining about it. Umm... like you were sort of arrogant saying you had done everything correctly when, in March, I mentioned that I know taxes here are different than other communities etc., so it's hard for me to feel too sorry for you...
@bainidhedub We recently went through this a couple of weeks ago. The advice we got was to give her tylenol in the evenings and keep her hydrated and to just check in again if her fever didn't improve after 3 days. She complained about her throat hurting as well so our pedi did have us come in to do a strep culture. Hope your LO gets better soon!
@bainidhedub, is he still complaining of a sore throat? That would be the one thing that would make me go in- thought I wouldn't go in for a fever that's just barely 24 hours old. Does he have any signs of strep? white spots? swelling?
When the girls and I have strep it's usually pretty painful and the fever doesn't waiver.
FWIW, I don't medicate fevers unless they're pretty significant, prevent them from being able to eat, play much, ect. A fever has a job to do and can't do it if you keep medicating it down. That said I'm pretty close to a dirty hippie with most of my parenting, so...
@mommaSG Ugh, sounds hypocritical. I hate crap like that. And also will never understand people who don't just put stuff in the dishwasher (I'm one of those people...but do not let it fool you, I am NOT a neat freak).
@EmilyLove25 that sounds EXACTLY like something that would happen to my DH. I chuckled a little bit. He would tell at least 10 people about it for sure, and casually deemphasize the fact that he messed up to begin with. Tehehe.
@gusgus14 Ewwww. Once, when I was working retail, I was provoked to finally say my favorite line, which is "You do realize that I am the one person who can help you right now, correct?" I got to pull it out only once or twice in my career since it's pretty snarky...but that woman probably needed to hear it!
@libbberty i am the dishwasher at the moment. In order to save money we cut back on a lot of expenses and live in a 2 bdrm appt for another 3 or 4 months so we have bills paid and caught up on debt before baby.
@EmilyLove25@caligal07@BelhurstBride The sore throats and 102 was last night. We gave him ibuprofen right away and Tylenol at bedtime. This morning it was 99.5, but after a 3hr nap it's 98.8 and he says his throat is fine so I'm thinking it's probably not strep. Last time he had strep it only showed up as a rash.
I'd like to say WTF to Trump's latest declaration. As we have already had the gender VS sex convo here. I'll be the first to admit I am ignorant about transgender people but to say that a willing and able person cannot fight for our country because they associate with a gender they weren't born with the parts for is stupid. And I know the argument is that it is a very volatile time emotionally in thier lives. Well then Trump why don't you say that Americans have to pass a mental health screening to serve?!?!
@burnsmommy27 bc even he wouldnt pass that screening. My 12 DD and i saw that on the news and she has friends that are transgender and it upset her. I ama very open minded person and her bio mom is t. She just snap chated me saying she hinted to her mom that she is attracted to both genders. Her mom said she had nothing against the lgtb community but if DD wasnt a girl and straight she wouldnt know what to do. I responded go for it that means i dont have to worry about a teen pregnancy. Kids and adults want and need to feel loved and respected
I dont get into political convos but Im pretty sure there are mental evaluations when you sign up in the military and they do evaluate you through out boot camp for things like that. Unfortunately mental illnesses are not always caught, its a hard thing to diagnose a lot of times. I think theres a chance for mental illness for anyone that signs up.
W.T.F. Counsyl. My DH went in for his bloodwork on 7/17. And now it might not be done until 8/4! My OB is livid. So hard to get excited about connecting with LO or think about bump photos or nurseries when there is so much uncertainty still. I'm sure there is some kind of teacher/lesson in this situation, but at the moment IDGAF.
Re: the military...I agree Trump is a f-wit. And something I would assume almost all could agree on is that our servicepeople need and deserve more mental health support in general. Before (for some), during, and after they serve. Most of my students are active duty or retired and so many of them have mental health challenges. They deserve more access to services and more attention.
Goes to me. We had an u/s today and the tech said she is 95% sure we are having a boy. People asked if we found out and I said we had a preliminary guess and then used the pronoun.
@livingoffpbjs I agree with what you actually said about the imperfect nature of screening, but it seems like you're implying that being trans is a mental illness. While gender dysphoria is considered a disorder, that's specifically referring to the distress and discomfort associated with the mental/physical incongruence. Trans people who have reached a point where they are comfortable with their bodies and gender expression are generally not considered to have a mental illness.
@bainidhedub sorry my post was vague. I was not referring at all to transgender. I was replying to another post that said "Well then Trump why don't you say that Americans have to pass a mental health screening to serve?!?" I'm just saying I'm pretty sure they do. I could be wrong though.
I agree with @libbberty there needs to be more mental health support for all military. They give up so much to serve for us, they deserve more in return.
@mommaSG I don't have any personal connections with anyone in that community. But I do agree with you that we need to love and support each other more
@livingoffpbjs Gotcha, I think I kind of missed that line in the OP - I couldn't tell if you were trying to connect those ideas or not. I think mental health care is one of the biggest ways we fail vets and service members.
