    Upcoming testing/appointments:
    u/s 7/26

    Rants/raves/questions:
I have an u/s on 7/26 with the RE. If that goes well I'm supposed to have another one 2 weeks later before graduating to my OB, BUT I talked to a nurse from my OB practice yesterday and she said they didn't want to wait until after 9 weeks to get me in so they scheduled me for an u/s on 8/2 at 8 weeks. They actually had a spot when I could have gone in the 7 week range but we agreed doing 2 the same week felt unnecessary. Is this weird, or unneeded? Keeping in mind that I'm 100% OOP with my RE, I'm not sure if I should forgo 1 or both of the RE's u/s. Do they do anything there that an OB wouldn't do? This is my first so I am confused on the process and interested to see if any of you have thoughts on whether this seems unnecessary and I should save the money and cancel one or both of these u/s with the RE.

GTKY: Do you have any fur babies? (Pics encouraged!)
I selfishly made this GTKY to see your fur babies. We live in a no pet rental and also MH is 2 years deep in a 4 year allergy shot program (I had to give my cat to my mom when we got engaged, it was super sad). Show me your furry ones!
  • @tosh24 GL today--I'll be thinking of you!

    @heatherdubrow Thanks for your input!
  • @ivfgotthistwice I've heard of that- that progesterone blood test doesn't give an accurate level because it's produced in the reproductive area and mostly stays there rather than going in the bloodstream. You're probably fine with the suppositories and even more so with the pills.

  • @ivfgotthistwice u/s update??

@GG620 Awww so cute! Yeah I was thinking of forgoing the last one if everything looks OK at the first one and the OB one, but I guess MH thinks we should keep the extra one and just pay and that it will be worth it for the paranoia.
  • @ivfgotthistwice That's great news!

Hi all, I'm new and this is my first check in!

Diagnosis: DH has retrograde ejaculation (he's got a kink in his tubes and his sperm comes out in his urine)

Umpcoming tests/appointments: 1st beta on 7/11 (987), second beta on 7/13 (1879). I go back for my last beta this coming Wednesday.

Rant: I used PIO in my first pregnancy with my daughter just fine but this round with both this pregnancy and the last pregnancy (MC at 8w) my body has suddenly decided to become allergic to it. I've developed a horrible rash under my arms, inner thighs and bikini line that itches so badly!! My RE just switched me to Crinone gel in hopes that works. But now I have to deal with this goopy crap leaking out of me...

Any of you ladies on crinone? Noticed some very light pink clumpy discharge after I wiped. I've had clumpy discharge but never that color. Dr google said it is normal with progesterone. Anyone with experience with this?

  • @SP128 vaginal progesterone can make your cervix more sensitive and more prone to minor bleeding (according to my ivf nurse). She said it's usually nothing to worry about.
  • @SP128 that is totally normal!

Quick question for those working with an RE - at what point did you/will you make a regular OB appointment? I know at some point the RE gives you the okay to graduate to your OB, but do you wait until that time to make an appointment? I am thinking that I would like to use a new OB and I think they book up pretty fast so I am wondering if I should make the appointment or wait until RE says so. Thanks!

@GG620 I had a phone appointment with a nurse at my OB practice a week or so ago to ask some questions, and she immediately scheduled me and sent me a packet. I told her I had a 7 week u/s and a 9 week u/s with my RE before I graduated, and she said we should still meet before I graduated so we could make a decision about genetic testing (some of the tests are done at 10 weeks and she wanted me on the schedule in case it filled up). So I now have a RE u/s at 7 weeks and 9 weeks and one with my OB's NP at 8 weeks. (I was going to cancel one but MH convinced me it would help with nerves to keep them all.) I don't know if all OBs do it this way, but it doesn't hurt to call and ask!
  • GG620GG620 member
@vflux33 oh that makes so much sense about the genetic testing and it is definitely something DH and I want to do. Thanks so much for the insight. Definitely going to give them a call and see what they say. Also - can I just go ahhh at the fact that we get OB appointments? :)

  • @GG620 in the past I have made my ob appt after my re graduates me. But what @vflux33 said makes way more sense to do! It can't hurt to at least call now and get the soonest appt you can.
  • @GG620 - I would ask when the RE will graduate you and have an appointment set up with your OB accordingly (12ish weeks maybe). My RE graduates patients around 8 weeks unless they do genetic testing then it's 10 weeks.

    Diagnosis:
    PCOS

    Upcoming testing/appointments:
I have my repeat ultrasound to see if this pregnancy is viable. If it is we should be able to see/hear a heartbeat.

Just a ball of nerves waiting for my appointment tomorrow.

  • @GG620 Here we have to get a referral, so my RE sends the referral right away for the appointment to be made with the OB in advance. I graduate from the fertility factory at 12 weeks.

Im probably going with a midwife this time though, which is a self referral. I did that right away also because midwives get booked up quickly.

@GG620  I called my reg OB after my second betas came in.  The nurse said to call after my ultrasound.  I will be 7 weeks by then.  She said she would get me in with a NP a week or two after for a physical and do go over history.  She said I would meet with OB a week or two after that as well?  My friend goes to the same RE and she graduates after 10 weeks.  So not sure if I'll be going to both places for a couple of times.

  • Diagnosis: PCOS

    Upcoming testing/appointments:
First ultrasound tomorrow!!! Ready to find out if there's 1 or 2 in there!

    Rants/raves/questions:
I've been laying low (which caused me to be MIA for a few days) due to some brown spotting last weekend. Everything is back to normal and MS is in FULLLL swing. I struggle so hard with being happy that I'm pregnant and trying not to complain. I've felt like poo for the past 3 days but every time I find myself ready to complain, I end up stopping myself since I feel like I've waited so long for this.

GTKY: Do you have any fur babies? (Pics encouraged!)
Heck yes! Two rescue pups (one we got a year ago today!!). Tex(brown) and Maggie (white) - they have a love/hate relationship.
  • Diagnosis:
    male retrograde ejaculation

    Upcoming tests/appointments:
My final beta yesterday was 15,000 so I have to call today to schedule my first ultrasound, hooray!

    Rants/Raves/Questions:
I'm so frustrated with my body because it's so different this time around compared to getting pg with my daughter. After having a reaction to multiple PIO injections, my RE put me on Crinone and now I've got a yeast infection from it! Lucky me I get to deal with more goop in my vag now (Monistat)
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • @antoto you posted that at the perfect time for my brain! Is this with a Pgs tested embryo?
  • @missydallas Glad to hear things are back to normal for you!

@CutieGirlLissie Great news about your beta, but that sucks about the yeast infection.

@antoto I saw some debate on a prior BMB about the accuracy of that (like if someone has a MMC what week is that counted for etc.) but I find it comforting too. In fact, MH who is super nerdy and into excel, plotted it and I just tried to upload the file, but my computer is being an asshole. I'll keep trying though!

  • @ivfgotthistwice nope that's for all pregnancies. So if you're PGS tested I would expect the percentages to be quite a lot higher.

@vflux33 Yeah I'm not sure how clear that sort of thing is or even what the source of this is. I just like looking at it and feeling better lol.

    Diagnosis: Unexplained

    Upcoming testing/appointments:
    First US 7/25!

    Rants/raves/questions:
Sorry guys, I haven't been active in this thread (I feel like I'm having a hard time getting into pregnancy-related threads because I'm still in the "yeah, right" phase) and I'm basically popping in to DD because I have a meeting in a minute. **TW throughout** because some of this is all tied in with PGAL, too. I've been having a really hard time with that part and have half decided that the US isn't going to go well and have made plans for what I'll need to do like canceling my haircut with the heavily pregnant lady and  making sure that I get things done at work so they're covered when I'm out for a few days.

H's BFF lives overseas and is home for a visit. We went over to see them last night along with his parents. His stepdad is probably well-intentioned but he needs to BTFO of when we're having kids. Literally every time we see them, he brings up the state of my uterus at least five times. And I mean literally literally. It's excruciating. I specifically turned down an invitation to dinner with them in May because I couldn't do it. Last night it included something about, "What's wrong with you?" to which I almost replied that nobody freaking knows. Instead I just did the usual grin and bear it and just try to laugh it off.

Then today, pretty much as soon as I walked in, a coworker finished with an online meeting with a group at the main office and told me, "Oh, *Name* announced in today's meeting (and I could feel it coming) that she's pregnant!" I have no idea why it still hit me as hard as it did but I'm still in a funk about it. And I feel stupid because I feel like since I'm currently technically pregnant I don't really have a right to those feelings but I do still have them. I don't think it helps that she's due in January, which would be when when I would be due if I hadn't had the May MC.

@kiki75 I completely understand 100% where you are coming from. *TW throughout and some DD as well. I had 2 losses that ended in early miscarriages, then it took us almost a year to get pregnant again with the RE. Last night, one of DH's best friends called to announce they are pregnant and due in January. It hit me just as hard as any other pregnancy announcement before I *thankfully* got pregnant. Since I am in the 3% of women that has had 2 losses without ever having a successful pregnancy, I am beyond terrified of losing this one and for our u/s on 7/26. I think its because I am so jealous of the point of the pregnancy they are at. I have never gotten out of first trimester and I want to be them so badly. I want to be able to tell people, I want to celebrate, I want to be able to open the "announcements" thread on this BMB, I want to think about cute items to buy a baby, but I simply can't. And I likely won't stop being terrified for a long time.*

I think it is normal for you to feel the way you  do about the pregnancy announcements and you do have every right to feel that way. We have had to go through so much to get here and it is still hard to hear when other people are at the point where you would like to be. *hugs* hopefully your u/s on Tuesday gives you some awesome news and peace of mind <3

  • @kiki75 hugs. I get it.
  • @kiki75 - I've been there - it's a daily struggle. Sending tons of good vibes for your upcoming u/s!
  • Diagnosis: Almost undetectable AMH, high FSH, POF

Upcoming testing/appointments: I have had 3 betas since finding out I am spontaneously pregnant from preop testing last week for a hysteroscopy.  First beta was 103, second was 204 and third was 605. Progesterone and estrogen have been great. I go in tomorrow for a placement US at 5w2d.

Rants/raves/questions: I am BEYOND nervous.  I never thought that we would concieve naturally and were beginning to seriously consider DE.  I just can't get rid of that nagging feeling that this "wasn't supposed to happen" so something will go wrong. I'm so frustrated that I've spent the last 14 month stressed and worried about becoming pregnant and now I am stressed and worried about staying pregnant. It just doesn't feel like it ends.

@kiki75 <3 I haven't even had any losses and I'm still super terrified this will become one and so can only understand a fraction of a fraction of what you @GG620 and others are going through. I hope we all get to that more "secure" announcement time soon.

I agree with @antoto that PAIF doesn't really capture it that well. We need something less passive that also acknowledges certain feelings and memories and medical facts won't just go away. I sorta like P in spite of IF, but it doesn't translate into a usable acronym.
