Re: Weekly Symptoms Thread: 7/15-7/21

  • Sorry to get this started so late, bit of an eventful day here. **TW** Spent 4 hours in the ER with a threatened miscarriage after some intense and copious red blood. Thankfully, for the moment, all looks fine: good heartbeat, baby measuring at 15w +3, cervix closed, and all blood work good. The bleeding has mostly stopped and is just a little light brown spotting now. I'm hopeful that that's the end of it, but only time will tell, so I'm just trying to take it easy for right now.

@KatieEl So sorry you're going through this. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I feel like crap and it upsets me. I'm 13w 1d and I was just under the impression I'd be better by now. I still have bad MS that starts around 3pm and lasts all night and my new symptom is headaches. It's horrible. I'm miserable and I'm mean. I just wanna feel better.

ETA: I almost forgot about the exhaustion. That's not going anywhere either. I'm so desperate for energy.
  • Oh no @KatieEl hopefully it was just stress from moving and stuff!!

I have been having a lot of painful RLP today. I've been walking a lot this week so hopefully that is all it is.
  • Oh @KatieEl so many hugs, girl. You'll be in my prayers!
  • Hormones showed their ugly self today. DH and I aren't speaking, for now. It's probably best for everyone that way. These hormones are no joke!
  • How scary @KatieEl! FX there is no more excitement like that.

I came to complain about is feeling like butt today. All morning I was dizzy whenever I stood up, starting at 7am when Thing 1 woke up & started screaming bloody murder despite the fact that he went to bed 2.5hrs later than normal bc we were out last night. Then in the afternoon I felt kinda queasy which turned into a full blown stomach ache and I had the whole "is it gonna come up/is it gonna go down/is it just gonna hurt for a while?" thing going on, but also the whole "so hungry but if I eat anything I might puke" thing. So that's been suuuuper fun. All while we're trying to clean the house to have friends over for dinner tomorrow.

As for me, I'm over here just expelling all the gas. Can't help but laugh.

  • @KatieEl I hope it clears up and that this is the end of your excitement!

@CANTW82BMOM I hear you on being disappointed in how you're feeling.

I felt pretty good all week. I'd say 90%. Today? Oh no. I woke up with a migraine, dry heaved for what felt like an eternity, and basically spent all day in bed alternating between sleep, forcing water, cheese and rice crispies cereal on myself, and binging on Greys in the dark cave I created in my bedroom. I finally got it together enough to take my laundry to my sister's and started feeling good maybe an hour ago after she fed me homemade chocolate pudding with whipped cream and then grilled cheese and tomato soup. She's kind of the best. :) I have had this happen just about every weekend for at least a month now. One day of hell. It isn't the worst thing, I guess, but damn it still sucks!
  • @KatieEl thinking of you and I hope it's all better  :( sending you a big hug!
  • @KatieEl that must have been so stressful! Sending you all the good thoughts and prayers that all is better
  • Oh, @KatieEl...I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Hugs to you, and I hope that's the end of it!
  • @KatieEl Oh my gosh! You poor thing. That must have been so scary. How are you feeling today? I'm so glad it seems to be resolved. Please rest up - hope you are feeling well emotionally and physically today.
  • @KatieEl I'm so sorry for the scare! So glad baby is still doing well. Hopefully it was just the move and nothing more serious.

I've been having a lot of RLP lately - and last night was the worst after going on a 2 hour long hike with DH. I was miserable and couldn't move without pain for about 10 mins. Also, pregnancy hormones suck. I feel like I'm constantly PMSing with the change of emotions I'm going through. I'm not a fun person to be around.
  • @KatieEl - sounds like you had quite the scare. Hoping that's the end of it. <3

For me at 14w, 1d....I am completely irrational and hate everyone. This is not who I am. I am usually so full of bounce and am called "Little Ms. Sunshine". Not yesterday or today. No one is safe. Thankfully, DH is out at his shop all day and I am going to spend the afternoon watching Downton Abbey.

Ditto on the RLP, @darkrose88. Do not enjoy.

  • Thinking of you @KatieEl! Hopefully that's the end of the excitement.

Im still exhausted almost all the time but no more nausea that I've noticed over the last few days so yay for that! RLP is picking up, lots of headaches but luckily not every day anymore, and my moods are crazy. I've been getting annoyed so easily lately!
  • Oh no @KatieEl! You're in my thoughts. Glad things are ok now. Take it easy.
  • Keep us posted on what your midwife says tomorrow, @KatieEl. Hugs!
  • Glad you're feeling better @KatieEl that must have been scary!

Im 14w today and my energy level is slowly improving. There's been lots of crying the past few days. The tears just pour out! A man in the grocery store let me go in front of him bc I had one item and he had a whole cart full. That act of kindness made me cry! I've also had a lot of lower back pain. Does anyone else have this? Is it safe to see a Chiropractor while pregnant? I'm worried bc I'm expecting this to get worse as I get bigger
  • @dgaugler86 totally safe to see a chiropractor, you just want to make sure they're trained in the Webster technique and have experience working with pregnant mamas.

  • @KatieEl So so glad you're doing better. Holy Cow! You just rest. Period. Do what you can and listen to your body.

My symptoms have been on and off. I will be fine one minute and the next, nausea, heartburn or emotional. DH and I argued some this weekend and he seems to think you can't blame the bitterness and emotion on pregnancy. The hell I can't! It's just worse being pregnant and then having 2 in there... I'm at an all time high on the emotion radar. I cried with a dog video the other day. So yea, I'd say I'm pretty emotional.

@dgaugler86 Lower back pain yes. Especially when I'm up doing stuff around the house. I'm thisclose to an ice pack some days.

I hope all you beautiful mommas feel better soon!

@KatieEl glad things are doing better! That must have been such a scare!

    AFM
I find myself being a more jealous person around my husband than usual. I get mad if he talks to a girl for a prolonged period or if she's standing too close to him. I used to be an extremely jealous person but have worked hard for years on it. Now it seems that hard work is all undone.
Other than that; boob pain, RLP, peeing more often, thirsty all the time, I could take or leave food unless I get a craving and then I HAVE to have it.
  • @britmanering73 my DH totally doesn't get it either! This is #2 for us so you'd think he would have learned the first time around  :/  totally clueless and it can be so frustrating!

@dgaugler86 yes to lower back pain! Had to soak in a (not too hot) bath last night before bed to ease the aching.
  • I've been doing prenatal yoga videos on YouTube for my lower back pain and RLP! It helps so much!

@leeeahyo Yes! You would think they would get it. This is #2 for him and his first wife was like wide receiver or something meaning she played football, she was bigger than me so may be she could take more?? I don't know. I'm a weakling but my Lord!

@missblaze Yes, he acts like if we get in a fight he's like "Don't even think of blaming this on the pregnancy." Well what do you want me to blame it on?!!!

  • my headaches that i thought were done in first tri have come back with a vengeance. I thought i was in the clear after a couple of weeks without them, but all day yesterday and all day today i have had one. I have tried to only take Tylenol when absolutely necessary, but i couldn't fall and stay asleep last night they were so bad.

also, today my stomach is all effed up. Nausea all morning and even the last few weeks every time i eat i feel like crap - blah!!

  • I hit 12 weeks and the nausea has disappeared and I suddenly have all the hunger. Time to gain back the 5 pounds I lost. Now who wants ice cream? Because there's a pint of Ben and Jerry's calling my name!

I'm jealous! 13 weeks today and the nausea has been better, but I still have no appetite. Replacing nausea with headaches and general bitchiness, now. Omg, I am so cranky and irate for no reason!
  • @auntieraindrop Unfortunately with the hunger has come the headaches and lightheadedness. I guess I can't win every battle, but I'm glad I can eat again.
  • @KatieEl, FX for a simple explanation. Your MW can't request the images from the u/s?

@CANTW82BMOM, I had afternoon/evening nausea throughout my entire pregnancy with DD1. On the plus side, I managed to only gain 15lbs as a result. The exhaustion has been killer for me, but today I found out I'm anemic. I'm hoping the extra iron will help. Do you know where your levels ended up?

  • @KatieEl - good luck on Wednesday. <3
  • @BelhurstBride she can, but she's not confident that the ultrasound tech at the ER got enough pictures of what she wants to see (placenta placement and behind the placenta, mainly).
