Baby moon this week - leaving on Thursday!! I am seriously so excited to spend 4 days away with DH, just the two of us. Plus I need this break from work. The prospect of not having any real time off again (other than holidays) until late December sounds absolutely horrible.
We went out on the lake yesterday and even though I thought I was pretty careful with sunscreen, my thighs are torched. They hurt so bad when I move or when something rubs against them and I definitely won't be able to wear pants for a few days (which it's too hot for anyway).
@schaze I probably have mentioned it because I'm so excited lol! We are going to Hocking Hills, OH. It a tourist location with hiking paths, lakes, and rivers! We went there last June as part of our honeymoon and loved it, so we are very much looking forward to going back.
Welp, I finally get to wear this bad boy again. I wore one with my last pregnancy, too. My immediate co-workers have been fantastic about taking over my icky chemical duties for the first tri, but at almost 13 weeks, I'm ready for the rest of the lab to find out. We do have a great ventilation system and fume hoods. I just prefer to wear this as an extra level of protection. The things we do for our little ones.
Only refreshing every 20 minutes to see if my Counsyl results are posted. They wont be, they just barely added the barcode to my account like 2 hours ago. But whatever. I'll check as much as I want. haha.
I need to make an appearance at my office on Wednesday. It's been a few months since I last showed my face. Not exactly looking forward to talking about the bump that will also be making an appearance. My work pants do not fit and so the only option is a dress that will certainly hug my middle.
I have a highlight appt. and prenatal massage scheduled for this weekend because it's the end of my first trimester. That's about the only vacation I'm getting anytime soon. I'm so excited for my 4 hour vacation.
We loveeee Estes Park so much @JuliaGoolia719 have so much fun!! Bear Lake is a must.
@RC1014 I got a gift card to my favorite spa for my birthday recently and I'm definitely using it for a pre-natal massage! I have enough to cover a 90 minute session and I'm so freaking excited just need to schedule it.
OMG I'm admittedly very jealous of all of you with these awesome vacations planned. I need a day off work just to vacation at the grocery store, so I can resume feeding my family
@RC1014 a prenatal massage sounds AMAZING right now! DH's grandpa has a house in Estes so once a year for at least a few days the whole time he was growing up, it'll be my 2nd time and loved it when we went like 8 years ago. @schaze DH's aunt and her husband/kids did one of those when they were there a few weeks ago, it looks like SO MUCH fun. I love horseback riding, but haven't gotten a chance to do it much since becoming an adult and having to pay for it myself HA. I think DH would have a coronary if I suggested it for this trip (but I thought about it), he's more of a nervous nelly than I am about what I should/shouldn't be doing right now lol. @clearlyclara I bought some maternity shorts from Target and they are so amazingly comfortable! I get it now, I really do lol.
I want a vacation. I agree @EmilyLove25 and @missblaze, I need a day off work to clean my house. THAT'S what my DH will be doing atleast ONE of the days he has off this week. Grrrr...
I need my hair done desperately. I was waiting until the 2nd trimester because I heard it was safer. Thoughts?
Brighter note: We get to see the babies today!!! I have my 2 week follow up from our "shock of our lives" first appointment LOL
@clearlyclara they have cute stuff!! do they sell it in your store? i have to buy old navy maternity online because they don't sell it in store (the last I checked anyway). It holds up well for the $$ too.
@RC1014 and @clearlyclara I've heard Old Navy has pretty much stopped selling their maternity line in stores and completed discontinued the maternity plus section, which is a shame
@RC1014 my local store had a small maternity section! But enough for me. I had they are slowly phasing them out from the stores... Maybe my store won't have it for long either, not sure. I also have a prenatal massage scheduled for July 27th and counting down the days
@britmanering73 I have an appointment this week. I would like to say I was waiting to get closer to being out of the first tri (11 weeks this week) but I was really waiting for my fun money this check because all my fun money for the past two months has gone towards our stupid home owners insurance deductible because we had to get a new roof. Ugh. I say get your hair done.
@Dani0329 OMG that is devastating. I'm so sorry for your neighbors and for your family as well. I’d be super paranoid
too. I hope it was an isolated incident.
So DH's new job is looking great... they told him yesterday that despite the fact that he doesn't meet the company's guidelines for getting paternity leave (he would have to be there 6 months and it will be closer to 5.5-5.9 lol), they are giving it to him. It's only 4 weeks, but as any STM+ know, having him there with me during those weeks will be invaluable. It's looking like I might get SOME sleep after all!
Also, I'm sort of over work right now... hoping my attitude changes here soon. I dread it even though it's a good job. I just want to be home unpacking and loving on DD.
@Dani0329 that is so scary! I agree with pp, hope it was an isolated incident. I'd probably be staying inside for awhile. Ugh that's so sad for your neighbor!!! @EmilyLove25 paternity leave is AWESOME! my H will maybe be able to take off 2 weeks using his PTO.
I don't want to jinx it but I'm starting to feel a *smidge* better this week. Fx it stays this way....
@EmilyLove25 Yay to paternity leave! MH is a consultant and WFH, so he will be at home the entire time I'm on ML. Not sure how helpful he will be per say, but since the plan is for him to cut back on hours, and take care of baby while I'm at work (so he'll work mostly during naps, evenings and weekends) hopefully he will be helpful. Also, can I just say, I am so over work right now too. I tried so hard not to come on the bump this morning, and try to focus on work, but clearly I've failed...
@Dani0329 that is absolutely terrifying! I recently learned that foxes and coyotes like to hang out near our house, which has me nervous about leaving my dog outside unsupervised and my cat will not be going outside... well never!
@schaze I haven't but I know she was moving the same day as me (the 9th or 10th), so I am hoping @KatieEl is just busy with that/doesn't have internet access etc.
@EmilyLove25 that is awesome paternity leave!!!! DHs new job is giving him 3 weeks all paid. It's so nice to not have to use all the PTO this time around
@Dani0329 We used a snake repellent in our yard when we first moved to our house (a barn was torn down in our backyard and there were snakes living under it so they were searching for a new home). We havent seen any snakes around since. Its also safe around people, pets and plants.

@darkrose88 yay! I think you've said before, but where are you guys going?
@darkrose88 I live 20 mins from Hocking Hills
If you like BBQ, go to Millstone in Logan, it's 3 mins from Old Mans cave off 664. Enjoy!!
