I was going to wait until someone else had posted but I'm just too annoyed. There's this guy I work with, and he's upper management level, though not my direct supervisor, but he has to ask my department to do stuff sometimes. My BF is that he is such. a. dick. Like, he can't ask for anything nicely. He doesn't explain anything he wants so we often have to guess, then he's all snarky if it's done wrong.

Honestly, I think he has Asperger's or something like it because he's a very awkward person, and I know sometimes rudeness goes along with that but OH MY GOD I CANNOT WITH HIM.

Mine is my work. The "rules" change depending on who it suits best at the time. They are not paying me for the holiday because they decided part time employees don't get holiday pay for July 4th. I would have worked another day if I had known that was going to be the "rule" this week! ALSO, there are two part time employees getting the holiday pay "because they have been working full time hours lately". Uh, wtf. THAT'S NOT HOW BEING FULL TIME WORKS!

I know I am gaining too much weight, but my OB basically made me feel like a beached whale and told me I can't eat carbs or sugar. I mean, I have always gained 40 - 50lbs with both pregnancies and then lost all the weight within a few months of delivery so I really don't feel overly concerned, but man did she make me feel terrible. And carbs are the ONLY thing that keeps the nausea away. Still. Just over it.

@disneyfan0511 I'm sorry that your doctor is being like that. I gained 45 lbs with my DS and was always worried about someone commenting on my weight at every appointment. I too lost all the weight within a few months. I think a lot of it is just how your body responds to pregnancy and some people gain more than others. My mom gained 50 lbs when she was pregnant with me eating whatever she wanted. She was very careful and are extremely well/worked out when pregnant with my brother and still gained 47 lbs! Maybe talk to them about it so they don't keep bringing it up?

@disneyfan0511 i'm sorry you had to deal with being harangued. ironically, my first pregnancy i was a literal slug. i gained 40lb total, only saved by the fact that i had a lot of terrible nausea the first 16 and final 4 weeks that prevented me from gaining in those weeks. this time around i started 20lb lighter, i'm exercising like clockwork, and my eating is ON POINT. and yet, at 19 weeks, i've already gained 15lb. weight gain in pregnancy doesn't always make sense. i'm trying to focus on the fact that i am SO much healthier and succeeding at my non-numeric goals for this pregnancy. it's hard to keep that in the front of the mind, though, when i get on the scale each morning.

hugs! if you go to a group practice, perhaps you can make the rest of your appointments with some OTHER ob...

@TigerCakes @anewadventure thank you both. I normally love this doc, it was so disappointing overall. And ironically despite being sick in first tri, I think this has been my healthiest pregnancy yet - I do carb out, but I'm walking every day and I haven't been eating tons of sweets. It's just how my body handles it I think. I'm up 15lbs now too, which is exactly where I was at with both pregnancies, all three different diets, so I just have to remember everyone is different, and try to ignore the scale (and the doc).

Is there something I can do that will bring little elves to my house and magically do all my unpacking and decorating for me?
Just moved into our new place this weekend (which I'm super happy about)... but now I'm left with a house full of boxes and a to-do list a mile long.. and I seem to have used a months worth of energy in a matter of two days...
I literally prepared my kids lunch by tossing them grapes and peanut butter sandwich halves from a pile of blankets that is currently our makeshift couch.
I just can't today.
And I'm serious about those elves... should I leave out some food? Dance in the moonlight? Sell my soul to Satan?

On the work trend, I was out Thurs afternoon and Friday, and not to sound self-important, but as usual, all goddamn hell breaks loose when I'm gone. I have this one coworker who is upper management but not my boss, but she works on my team and is a huge pain -- always causing fires when she tries to be in charge and a go-getter. While I was out she took a project that she didn't know was in my camp already and gave it to her admin (who is nice but not always competent) and asked her admin to start working on it. Imagine my surprise upon returning today when I had an email from the admin to me and others asking for updates to the project. I had literally just asked people for updates five days ago and gave them this upcoming Friday as a deadline -- so now everyone has received 2 emails from 2 different people, asking for the same thing by 2 different deadlines. It makes me and the other admin look like idiots -- nothing of course will fall on this coworker who started it all. Ugh.

My MBF is that, apparently, I am doomed to get a gross head/neck ache once a week now. Also DH is coming down with something and sneezing everywhere and it makes me want to stab him. Ain't nobody got time for that!!
