Nope. Have to do it again at 28 weeks. I'm insulin resistant and we both have family members with diabetes so I get to do it twice. I have an increased chance of developing GD. Yay me! So far I'm good so I'll take it.
@chucksmom15 hooray for passing glucose test! I am so concerned about GD, though I've had friends who had it and they managed it just fine. Still, what a weight off your shoulders for now
Hi I'm 38 and expecting #6! (#1 with my 2nd hubby). So tired, but everything else seems good so far. My Dr. Put me on weight restrictions for lifting already though which seems a little odd, no more than 10-15 lbs. Any one else or on lifting/ carrying restrictions yet?
Hi all! 37 here, this baby will be our second our dd is 4. My dr hasn't given lifting restrictions yet, but how do you handle not picking up your other kid? Seems near impossible
Hi there! I am 35 and having our second (EDD 2/10). Feeling waaaaaay more tired this time around but at 9.5 weeks think I may be coming out of the worst of it. @NKF312 I hear you! My 15 month old is over 30lb (he is a big boy) and I can't even imagine what lifting him will be like once I have a decent belly... on that note, anybody else sporting a tummy already second time around?! I am a bit embarrassed by how much I am showing already...
@LydRussell yes to the tummy!!! I haven't gained a pound yet but my stomach is definitely already showing and pants are tight.. I don't think I really started showing first time around until 4/5 months blah
@NKF312 he he. Glad it isn't just me. I knew I should have done more planks between pregnancies... I think I look now like I did around 14 weeks with my first. And I got big FAST last time
I am also quickly outgrowing all my pants and started outgrowing tshirts, my swimsuit no longer fits and I'll need a new bra within a week. Generally you show earlier on 2nd, 3rd etc. Pregnancies, we still haven't told people yet, and everytime i see my in laws i wonder what they are thinking and of they can tell. Pulling or old maternity clothes this weekend to see if anything will fit still. I may have been a wee bit smaller starting my other pregnancies.
I'm in the same boat with my clothes. I've lost a few pounds but none of my jeans or skirts fit and my stomach is definately more pronounced. I don't have any maternity clothes because I gave them all away thinking we were done after two. I'm going to have to do some shopping this weekend.
I'm trying to not buy maternity clothes until I really need to. I love the trend of loose swing dresses, and my belly can be covered and not as noticeable.
I've been rocking the flowy dresses, but just ordered maternity capris for when I want to be more "casual". Need to find some maternity shorts that aren't like, short short because I have very thick thighs and they ride up, if anyone has suggestions!
Hey everyone! Finally joining now that I've officially heard the heartbeat. I'm 7 weeks right now and I'm 40 years old. Good lord....thats so scary!
How are you doing? Nausea & exhaustion have been doing me in. Nervous because I'm PGAL and older and I have a 15 year old that will be going to college in a couple of years & my husband and I will be starting over!
GTKY- What food are you craving right now? Beef! I don't normally eat red meat but I have been craving it. Like I will drive across town for a French dip sandwich craving! Also want bananas and pastry. I normally hate bananas and don't have a sweet tooth. My husband says it's his genetics kicking in. Lol

Im a FTM and I'm already showing a belly. Not big enough for maternity yet but had to go up a size in jeans for comfort. Swing dresses from Old Navy are my friend right now.
Add me to the old moms club! This is my third baby (6yo and 4yo boys). It was a bit of a surprise but I'm embracing it, haha.
i am not craving anything - I have the worst aversions and basically everything makes me want to vomit. Except carbs. I basically only eat carbs. ALL.DAY.LONG. So I'll basically be an old pregnant beluga when this is over.
I'm 9w4d, a FTM, and I just turned 41. I had my first OB appointment yesterday and lost count of the number of times she said "advanced maternal age..."
I'm mostly doing well...there's nausea, but I haven't vomited. The tiredness, bloat, and sore boobs are real, though. I'm trying to enjoy every moment, but I'm hoping I can enjoy it more once I pass the hurdle of the first trimester. I guess there will always be things to worry about, though, right...?
I've been craving a lot of comfort food...soup, rice, noodles.
Had a followup ultrasound and first OB appointment yesterday (10w 2d). I'm very happy to report that things looked great! The hemorrhage has shrunk significantly and baby's growth was exactly what it needed to be with a good heart rate. It was so amazing to see our little one wiggling and dancing all around!
Next week I go to the MFM practice for Nuchal Translucency and NIPT. I'm trying not to fret about those results too much and just enjoy yesterday's good news for now.
FTM, 35, 11w2d and very excited to be here! We had our first US on 7/18 and everything looked great. Looking forward to our next OB appointment on 8/8 when we get Blood test/NT results and find out the gender.
Measurements on the NT US yesterday were good. Anything higher than a 3.0 is an indicator and our measurement was 1.5 so unless the corresponding blood work shows something we should have a healthy LO!! I am relieved to get that little bit of news. We would have loved this child just as much no matter what but I have to admit I was doubting if I was prepared to be the mom of a Down's Syndrome child. I know I would have figured it out but some days I'm nervous about being a mom period!
Hi! FTM and first time posting on here I think. I signed up last year but had 2 missed miscarriages. I'm 40 and a little over 11 weeks pregnant. Hoping third time's a charm. I hadn't been nauseous for about a week and today it came back with a vengeance, although it somehow doesn't really effect my appetite. I usually feel better while I'm eating, which seems weird. I'm craving fruit all the time now. And carbs. But I probably need more protein. I've been a pescatarian for over 20 years and have thin brittle hair that's prone to falling out, which may or may not be related. I'm starting to feel more hopeful about this pregnancy now because all of my blood work results were normal. But I'm nervous about the NT scan I have this week. And the fact that I have a big exhausting (physically and mentally) work day this Monday- I'm worried about feeling nauseous and not being able to just stop and lay down. I'll have to carry on as if everything is fine and just make it happen. At least the miscarriages (among other major life experiences) have made me feel pretty much like a warrior at this point
I'm 38, this is my first pregnancy and am waiting for our NT test results to come back within the next week or 2. Getting nervous now waiting for the phone call, but I feel pretty optimistic otherwise. I have been SO tired these last couple of months and am excited to start the 2nd trimester next week. I really hope the exhaustion goes away. I need to start excersizing, but I have been way too drained to even think about it. I have been trying to hold out being excited, but I am super excited, I can't help it
Hello all, this is My first post to this board. I guess I feel Really ancient I'm 46, 11w3d. My doctor won't see me until next week, but I've had a confirmation US. This is My 3rd, I have a 26 and 21yr old. This is COMPLETELY starting over. I am so freaked out. Thank God my DH is so supportive, but he's freaked too. It happened naturally, but very unexpectedly.
I kind of posted this on another thread, but I think it's more relevant here.... Just had my NT scan and results were good! However, when the Dr. came in to talk to us afterwards, she gave us a lot of information about genetic counseling and more invasive chromosomal testing, despite the fact that we did IVF and had comprehensive testing on our embryo. She said it wasn't because of anything she saw on my scan, but it was because of my age (I'm 41). Has anyone else had an experience like this? Did the NIPT bloodwork and results should be back in a week (of course, that is the one week we will be out of the country and not able to get calls...) My thought is that we don't do more invasive testing if the bloodwork comes back ok.
@babybro218 I just had my NT scan and blood draw for NIPT on Thursday. I'm not sure what we will do if the results show something. It would depend on how invasive and risky the further testing was. I think I would also consider how high the risk was on the results. Our scan measurement was low (1.5) so the nurse said she doesn't think the blood work will show risk for Down's. It still could but she said it would be unlikely. I am seeing a Fetal Maternal specialist next month for a consult due to my age. However, unless a complication arises that will be my only appointment. They will just follow my pregnancy. Hopefully, your results will be good!

That would seem a bit redundant to me. Why opt for invasive testing when you've already had thorough testing? It's not something I'd consider unless I was high-risk for T18, T13 and perhaps Turner syndrome if serious soft or hard markers are present and I intended to TFMR. In the less severe cases of T21, I'd pursue non-invasive monitoring like level IV ultrasounds, fetal echo, etc., since 50% are born with a CHD. The CHD would be my main concern, and wanting to rule out other issues, not the chance of Ds itself.

Had to get a new phone and just saw this. Sorry guys! My Counsyl results took a week. Gave blood Monday and got the results the following Monday. They gave me a card with my sample number and I registered online to follow the progress and to have them email me the results.
Nerve wracking couple of days here as I started bleeding heavily again early Sunday morning. My OB worked me in for yet another ultrasound yesterday and confirmed that my SCH was active again although the fresh bleeding is confined to a small spot. Baby was still wiggling and kicking like crazy and showed good growth/heart rate so I feel much better today. I guess it's not unusual for this to happen repeatedly as the uterus grows and stretches so this may be our new 'normal. One day at a time, right? I'm thankful for good news and a wonderful OB/nursing staff this morning for sure!
Re: 35 and over Moms- July
but I'm 35 and expecting my second! I'm 7w5 days and have my first appt next week!
Overall feelimg ok . Except the typical nausea. Exhaustion and sore back. So could be worse for sure.
