Symptoms 6/26

Re: Symptoms 6/26

  • I keep getting a cramp (not period like cramp, more like a muscle crap you get when working out) on my lower right side when I run, workout or walk fast. Slow walking or regular activities are fine. Anyone else? Thoughts?

@MississippiCatfish ew! Ha. Yeah I told DH yesterday that when she's down by my bladder it's like a feeling I cannot describe. I said almost like a grinding and he looked mortified and I said "no, not like grinding" because it's not, but it's more like what you said!

  • @car1a i have the feeling describing it to him as your infants nail scraping your insides may horrify him as well.
  • I have a weird rash that has decided to take residence on my belly. Just small red circles along my tummy and lower back. At first I thought it was my skin breaking out from getting too hot. DH thinks it's PUPP Rash. I plan to show my OB at the next appointment but from what we've read they don't know what causes it and you can't really do anything other than put lotion on. Luckily it's not too widespread so I'm hoping it doesn't get worse in 3rd trimester.

Yes!!! I haaaaaate this feeling. I got it a ton with DD and  she was born with really, really long nails. It feels so weird and disconcerting.

Yeah, I tried last night during dinner and it wasn't very well received haha. His eyes got wide and he shook his head  :D She moved back breech this morning and he's like "baby stop hurting mama"

Oh my goodness!! So far mine just feels like that when her feet are low, but I'm just going to get by imagining that she doesn't have nails until 40w please don't tell me otherwise!

This sounds like what I got at 16 weeks … the PUPPs rash. It started on my belly and has spread to my back, bum, thighs, behind my knees and starting to go down the top part of my arms (I am guessing that’s not what you want to hear). My Dr. told me it was safe to take Benadryl however I have been trying to avoid taking any pills for it and have found relief with Aveeno lotion (I apply 2 – 3 times a day) as it is oatmeal based which helps soothe the itching feeling. I also have been taking warm/cold showers as I find heat bothers it more. I hope it’s not the PUPPs rash cause it can be annoying but definitely have your OB check it out.

  • @jess0211 I get that sometimes too! I just assume it's RLP of another variety, but I don't actually know.
@MississippiCatfish yuckkk that sounds really terrible, maybe baby will have really short nails and I'll never feel it

  • @maegpie either PUPP or foliculitis.  PUPP is itchy. With my first I ended up getting foliculitis which is really just clogged hair follicles.  This time I got an itchy rash that looked more like a reaction to poison ivy (red, raised, fluid filled), that happened on my belly, hands and arms and was soo itchy. My rash went away but lavender shea butter seemed to help relieve it. My midwife also said ok for benadryl sparingly and also a low cortisone cream like the cortisone 10 eczema which has 1% but since it's a steroid not to lather in on.
  • @kdw89 this sounds like it and I have noticed it's worse after hot showers. I will definitely give the Aveeno lotion a try. Thank you!
  • @MaximumEffort this is itchy and sometimes has a slight burning feeling. It's manageable for now and is mainly irritating if I forget to lotion up.
  • @MaximumEffort and @kdw89 when you've had PUPPs has it only been within stretchmarks? I had zero stretch marks with my first and none now but this appears to be over my entire stomach now and part of my thighs. Instead of waiting for my next appointment in two weeks I'm going to place a call to the OB Monday but I'm just curious why your experience has been.
  • kdl89kdl89 member
@maegpie Mine didn't start in stretchmarks I am plus size and do have some stretchmarks on my lower stomach and sides so the rash has now spread to them. Mine started just above my belly button with a few spots then spread all over my stomach and back and so on. I found mine spread fast at first and has slowed now.
  • My blood sugar dropped today, which was scary. It's never happened to me before so at first i didn't realize what was going on. I had been walking and felt so tired and fuzzy...ate a sandwich but that only helped a little. After a bit I got some candy and immediately felt like myself again. The scary part was how it felt like my brain wasn't really working. Going to talk to the dr about it on Mon, but I'm really nervous about GD now.

  • Omg. My heart burn gets so bad I feel like I have a fire trying to escape. It made me throw up and it felt like throwing up straight up acid, I felt better for maybe 20 minutes and it's back. I steer clear of all the triggers and still get it with foods that are suppose to make it better.

@maegpie my rash was not just on stretchmarks. I got it first on my forearm then my fingers.
  • @liz4382 I actually get that alot, even before pregnancy I had to watch it because my metabolism is just fast and now pregnant I burn calories crazy fast so I have to have a protein bar on me just in case to keep it up if I have a drop. It helps to have a protein bar, or some form of sugar/carb with protein right after, should get better within about 15-20 min as long as you get something good in you quickly. Especially with it being summer you are just going to use energy faster. Also trail mix is great to keep blood sugar more stable when out and about.
  • @bananers thanks--I'm going to have to start carrying snacks with me I think. Normally when I'm at home I eat constantly but that's hard to do when I'm out.

  • Worst migraine ever. I tried 2 acetaminophen which I never take and a two hour nap. Nothing is touching this thing.
  • For a quick snack I'm really loving Lara bars. So simple, made of dates, nuts and chocolate.
  • My upper back has been on fire lately. That and I'm a cranky B****. I feel slightly bad for people that get in my path on a bad day. +1 for hubs for dealing with me though.
  • Irritable uterus. If I went to the hospital every time I had 5 contractions in an hour, I'd be living there. My one hospital visit revealed a long and unchanged cervix, as did my MFM appointment later that week, so I'm trying to minimize the contractions and accept that they are a part of life now. They are triggered by literally everything.
  • @MaximumEffort heartburn is so annoying! Have you tried Zantac? I assume yes but it's the only thing that'll help me long term right now.

@maegpie I have to take one extra strength tylenol and have some coffee and pray it goes away. Migraines are the WORST.

  • @DuchessOfCambridge after it didn't subside all day Sunday and I woke up with the same Monday I drank a coffee and took another round of Tylenol. That ended up doing the trick so I may need to remember that if it happens again.
  • Swollen hands and feet. It's mostly the heat and I'm better inside. Can't tell if the foot swelling is from sunburn or pregnancy.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

  • @maegpie I stopped drinking caffeine (even though I know it's fine) and now my tolerance is so low that it really helps with migraines. I won't drink coffee unless I have a migraine now because I want it to keep helping!

  • @bklynchica that is how I was with DD. I was in the hospital every week from week 30 until she arrived week 37 the last two weeks I was there every other day when I look back it I laugh now because real labor was nothing like the contractions I was experiencing before.

Hang in there momma you're doing great. Your little girls will be here before you know it.

    I have kankles  :s:s:s
  • @DuchessOfCambridge I haven't tried Zantac.  I tend to like taking the least medication possible, even second guess myself taking Motrin for my SPD which is really hampering me. I find that items like yogurt give me heartburn when they shouldn't, heartburn is always worst at work.  The past few days have been good, I know I can always have pasta and it won't cause me pain.
  • @bklynchica I'm sorry you're on bedrest but glad it means you don't have to commute. FX those babies stay put a nice long (enough) time for everyone to be healthy and well!
  • @bklynchica that is what happened with me. I was in the hospital overnight at 30 weeks and even though I wasn't dilating they put me on some sort of medication to help calm my uterus and then I was on bed rest for the next 6.5 weeks and then she was here. I am 5'4" with about 110 lbs pre-pregnsncy weight and I hear you. I'm pretty uncomfortable already and I'm only having one.

    Enjoy your bed rest.
  • @bklynchica hopefully with the bedrest you will get some needed rest. I can only imagine the movement with two LOs especially with being petite. Im sorry you are having so many contractions. Maybe the reduction in commute and activity will help limit them for now. You will all be in my prayers each day. Celebrate each milestone you pass.
  • For some reason my appetite has decreased the last two days. I don't know if that has anything to do with LO or if it's because I've been stressed this week. Pre-pregnancy I was always a "stress non-eater" as my appetite always decreased when I was stressed or busy.

@bklynchica I can only imagine what it's like to be petite and have two LO's. I'm pretty close to your size (average of 110 pre pregnancy and barely 5'2 on a good day) and I know what it feels like with just one. Kudos to you for being such an awesome mama for those two :) I hope the bedrest helps

  • @bklynchica hope bed rest helps you feel more comfortable soon and those babies stay put!

  • @bklynchica hoping your bedrest keeps those babies in there where they belong!

I had the worst elephant ankles and feet by the end of the day yesterday. I swear it feels like my skin is about to burst with the puffiness. It doesn't hurt, it just feels odd and a little icky. I had this only the last month I was PG with DD, and now of course the cells are "stretched out" and it has been happening since the beginning of the summer.
