Scandal. I've been hearing how great it is for years but nobody can seem to articulate why it's worth watching and it doesn't seem my style.

The Walking Dead. Nope.... can't do zombies.

Rants/raves/questions? I think my son (5.5 y/o) is going to be really mad at the thought of having a younger sibling. He is a total mama's boy and he will NOT like having to share me. My daughter is going to be over the moon though - she loves babies. Probably won't tell them until end of September because *TW* my daughter was pretty bummed about the miscarriage last time *End TW*.
What popular TV series do you never intend on watching? Um most of them? No Scandal, Lost, Walking Dead, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Orange is the New Black, etc. I typically like more risque shows like Transparent, Shameless, etc. (I will admit that I have fallen hard for This is Us, though).

I must be old because I was so grumpy last night when the fireworks started before dusk and were still going strong at midnight. I'm grateful that DS slept through it, but it made it hard for me to go to sleep.

It's pretty different with baby #2. I feel like no one is excited or cares at all. I'm sure they do, but with DS it's all anyone could talk about, with this one my MIL and FIL forgot I was even pregnant! Yesterday DH made Moscow mules for everyone at our BBQ and made me a mocktail mule, my inlaws asked why I wasn't drinking... ummmm because im pregnant! You guys know this! Maybe they will remember when my belly is big enough to take them out.
What popular TV series do you never intend on watching?
The Voice, Dancing with the Stars, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, or any of those reality type shows. Not a fan. I just don't care enough about the contestents to watch. Maybe if my family or friends were on it I would, but strangers? No thanks!

Rants/raves/questions? My husband is playing this pregnancy super close to the chest. We're very close with our parents so it's really frustrating to me. I also feel weird about telling anyone else (ie: my very best friends) until our family knows but I want to share with those I love. I'd rather have their support if something went wrong than for them to never know.

I can't decide whether to go with a new doctor or stick with the practice that delivered my other kids... I saw the new doctor once for my last yearly exam in December. I'm not too happy with my old doctor anymore because the practice has gotten HUGE and I really miss the personal 1:1 care/attention that we used to get 10+ years ago when they were smaller. I'm generally an indecisive person by nature, so this decision is killing me!

Rant - My doctor is on vacation (she TOTALLY deserves it) so the schedule is way backed up and the nurse practitioner won't see me until the 20th. I was hoping to get in next week.

I told my brothers this weekend that I am pregnant and they were so underwhelmed about it. I was kind of bummed it wasn't a bigger deal to them. My younger brothers gf was super excited so that was nice.

Rants/raves/questions? My first real appointment isn't until August 11. The birthing center we plan to deliver at (where DS was born) has started doing a group visit for each trimester. They were not doing these when I went before. It's a midwife led discussion with topics focused on things you may go through in your current trimester. I wish they would have had these visits during my first pregnancy, but I'm hoping they will still be helpful.

Moderate rant: When I had DD, they just sent me in for a dating u/s. Now, they have a protocol where I have to go in twice for beta HCG blood work before they will even make the appointment. I'm moderately annoyed because it's really time consuming to schedule and then arrange for my kids to be with someone for a "10 minute" appointment that inevitably takes half an hour plus drive time. I realize this is not a huge deal, but it's annoying even though I understand the purpose of the protocol.
What popular TV series do you never intend on watching? Great question. I have a hard time following a series simply because I don't watch a lot of tv. There are a lot of series I'd love to watch, but I will have to make a better effort to do so...maybe during those MOTN feedings with this LO.

Rants/raves/questions? My parents have been in St. Thomas since we found out. I refuse to tell them via FaceTime...so I'll have to wait a couple more days. It's killing me!!

I will admit that even I am different about this pregnancy so far. With my first, I was constantly stalking a couple apps to see what was going on with my baby. This time, I look every day or 2.

Rants/raves/questions? My oldest can read now, and he especially is old enough that we can't just talk carefully areound him without him picking up on anything. My middle is really perceptive too but at less than I can spell stuff and he doesn't understand. Ive only known for a hot second that I'm pregnant and it's gonna be harrrrd to keep it quiet from them. Massive shift since this past fall.

Stupid things that my logical mind understands are no big deal eat away at me (reorganized kids art supplies at midnight and got more intense cramping- why does my mind automatically think something bad is happening?). Walking Dead- DH watches it and it seems really boring. I only watch things I don't have to pay full attention to because I would never know what was going on.
I think my husband ended up liking Downton Abbey even more than I did, although I did have to "interpret" some parts for him since he sucks at understanding British accents
