I'm suppose to be driving to my parents camp. But currently waiting out a downpour here though I have no interest in running a 4 yr old to a car in this and hate driving a highway like this. Grrr.
but tomorrow will be nice and we have a cookout with the hubs family.

I'm supposed to be cleaning the house right now while DH is off swimming laps. I just don't wanna.
i just saw the new Jumanji trailer and am pretty excited about it. Which reminds me that I never got to see the new Power Rangers movie in theaters. So I will definitely be renting that on Amazon tonight.
ETA: I swear back in the 90s I had a yin yang necklace exactly like the one the white power ranger is wearing in that gif....
ETA: No, I think my necklace also had a peace sign and a yellow smiley face in addition to the yin yang sign. I'm now going down a rabbit hole of 90s nostalgia instead of cleaning
My house is a disaster, my burlesque costume is not finished, and I'm super tired.
So I'm going shopping with my mom. I'm in charge of picking a place for lunch and don't know what I want (is there a place that serves BBQ, Mexican, and Greek? And maybe a little Israeli?)

@beanship I DEFINITELY had that same necklace with the yin yang/peace sign/smiley face!!!!!
This weekend I will just be hanging out with my little while the hubby goes golfing with my father-in-law. I plan on watching whatever I want on TV today. (People's Court? Yes please. I'm weird, I know).
Yassss to alone shopping @kmalls! Enjoy your you time!
I went shopping this morning too and got a few cute tops from Old Navy on sale. Now I'm finishing some house projects, cleaning up, and might make a big pot of soup later. I need to give myself a pedicure too.
Is anyone a fan of So You Think You Can Dance? I just watched a few episodes on Hulu last night. I've never watched it before, but I loved it! Some of the dancers are just amazing and have really great stories. I even cried a few times! I mean, I was full of wine and emotions, but still- a great show!
@beanship I had a whole box of necklaces with that symbol, smiley faces, sunflowers, every vomited neon color of the rainbow. I still have all my slap-on bracelets at my parents' house somewhere, too.

@kbamomma33 I love SYTYCD! I haven't watched the most recent seasons, though, because I haven't loved the format changes. This was the dance that made me fall in love with the show (I strongly reco going down a Mia Michaels choreography rabbit hole): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooSkpZFLLbU
DH, some friends, and I went out last night to an escape room. We had to pick the hardest room because that was the only one available early enough so that one of our friends could go to work afterwards. It had a 13% success rate, but we bear it with 22 minutes to spare! It was a lot of fun!
And booze and board games and sleeping in until 11. Today will be yard work and nerding it up at home. Pretty good weekend so far!

This weekend is kind of a clusterfuck at the Meeseeks household. DH and I are attending the wedding of one of his friends this evening. I'm not looking forward to it because I will only know like 1 person there, and DH is notorious for running off and letting me fend for myself in these situations. Also, there are two groups of DH's family coming for the weekend, both requiring different levels of attention. I have somehow managed to not have any overnight guests at my house, which is great because it is an absolute train wreck over here.
Instead of addressing the complete disarray of my home or spending time with the plethora of visitors, I told everyone I had to run an important errand (because I NEEDED to dick around in Sephora by myself) and now I'm laying in my bed eating candy.
@AlohaKumu Yaaas slap on bracelets!!! I wish I'd kept some of my 90s stuff but I was so embarrassed by it that I think it all got thrown out. I was ALL about the tie dye and neon.
@pebbledam I've always wanted to try one of those escape rooms because I play a lot of iPad games that are somewhat similar to that.
@msmeeseeks Omg MH does the same thing at weddings where he knows people and I don't.
So cleaning has not gone well. I tidied while talking on the phone to a friend, went and bought some new house plants, and I'm now at my parents' house (they're out of town) watering plants and watching their cable (we don't have cable). I prob wouldn't have remembered to come over here if I hadn't gotten froyo to go and then had it start immediately liquefying on me. I was closer to their house than to mine. So really this was a froyo emergency that turned into a "I remembered to water your plants" situation.
I LOVE Clarissa! She's my fashion idol. That's where I got my appreciation of Keith Haring!
UPDATE: I'm out of bed, but now I'm laying around in my bathtub. I was supposed to be shaving my legs (also a train wreck!), but I've only managed to do one leg. Still working up the will to finish the task.
@Avrilmai@msmeeseeks Clarissa was definitely one of my favorites. I even had a Clarissa Explains It All book. She talked about how ennui was better than boredom because ennui is French, which I just remembered recently when talking with a friend about how we were bored. We decided to call it ennui instead because ennui was more interesting.
@pebbledam Hopefully I can keep their plants alive. I kill all of mine and then have to buy new ones. DH says I'm a fern serial killer. I keep trying to convince him to do an escape room with me!
I just finally got my library's copy of Kushiel's Dart on my Kindle app. I've been waiting since it was first discussed here and I added it to my library holds. Excited to read it after hearing about how a lot of you loved it.
I spent all last night working on R scripts to make pretty graphs for work. Not because I had to, but because it was a fun logic problem for me. I'm a nerd.
So far today I got up early to get some cleaning done, then took a nap with the dog.
Me: 30 | DH: 31 Met: August 2006 Married: July 2012 TTC #1 since June 2016
I have run the vaccuum ...and DH and I brought some boxes of books down from the attic to stock up a shelf down here since we rearranged our whole downstairs. But we don't have AC on the main level (only in the bedrooms) so instead of much else, we are plastered to our seats watching hobbits and playing on our phones. Lol I at least need to work up the motivation to switvh out my old phone for the new one the insurance sent ... before they try to charge me extra! :#
@becausescience That is the best thing ever. I would love to wake up and see an elephant in my yard. @icecubeinthedesert keep an eye out! I'll be in Wisconsin later in July and will definitely expect to seen an elephant now...
@beanship There is a 90's girls night in a few weeks my sister &I'm I are going to when I go to visit. I so wish I had kept all those sweet necklaces!
I napped all afternoon. We ordered pizza for dinner and cinnamon sticks. They were greatly disapointing. Now I'm dreaming of sno-cones.
I should pull myself up and go check on my friend's house (vacay). I ordered a new mop through her, so if I go, I can get it. But then I feel like I need to clean. Ugh, decisions.
@jsnakehole I'm so jealous that you have so many different options by you for food! As ethnic as we get out here is Thai food. I'd kill to have a good Indian place nearby. @kmalls I love shopping by myself. I feel like if I'm with other people, then I'm under pressure to rush. @beanship Clarissa is the best! @kbamomma33 I don't watch SYTYCD a lot, but I love that it's a reality show that requires skill and not drama. @msmeeseeks GL at the wedding tonight! @pebbledam I love Ticket to Ride. We don't own it yet because most of our friends have it, but it's definitely on the "To Buy" list. @Avrilmai How was vacation? @icecubeinthedesert I'm so excited for you to read Kushiel's Dart! @becausescience I saw about the elephant this morning on the news. That's exciting and terrifying at the same time.
@KariAnn323 It's a blessing and a curse. I think I walked enough to burn off maybe a quarter of the Mexican food we got.
I also spent a little more than I intended to today (as always happens when I go out with my mom), but it was worth it. Everywhere was having crazy sales, so I got a lot of stuff.
