Re: 3rd Trimester: Week of June 26
My journey has been such a roller coaster; Two and a half years of medical treatments, 12 procedures, 2 surgeries, too many losses and too many tears that finally turned into a journey of good surprises! A successful pregnancy, TWO miracle babies, finding out they were boy/ girl twins, a beautiful baby shower, a healthy pregnancy, and TONS of wonderful support from family & friends. These last weeks were emotionally exhausting with scares of preterm labor & constant feelings of "please babies, hold on longer and don't come just yet" at 29-34 weeks, that have now changed to feelings of "COME ON BABIES
I am so thankful to all of you and to this forum! I honestly don't think I would have gotten through this journey without the support of everyone on these boards! I think we are very lucky to have these threads to vent to one another, express our fears and share our joys!
I have a doctors appointment today- lets see if I have any progress!! Probably not lol, but that's okay, I'll just sit back and enjoy my last few days with my big baby bump!
@latershrader thank you for taking over the board!!

@Colleen0516 I am so happy that your babies hung in there this long! Fingers crossed you have progress today at your doctor's appointment
AFM - still just cruising along at 35w6d (what?!?!?). Our heat wave here in the Midwest broke and we've had GORGEOUS weather. I know it's unrealistic to think it could last all of July but one can dream! I'm determined to pack my hospital bag tonight - I have no idea why this is such a difficult task for me! We need to get the car seats in this week - our Children's Hospital has a check event next - but then we are pretty much ready. Which seems nuts to me! My DH's 40th birthday was the 16th and he went to the US Open on a boy's trip and we had his party this weekend. It was great to have all our friends and family together - I kind of feel like it was our last hurrah for awhile. We are typically the host for most events so it was a little bittersweet. It was also very entertaining as the sober person
QOTW - a friend recommended the Lucy Darling baby book to me and I'm obsessed with how simple it is. Not a ton of writing so you can't really get 'behind'. I love it. I also plan on using the GlowBaby app for feedings/diapers/milestones. The key word is 'plan'.

@byrneme - I feel like this weekend was a "last hurrah" for us too. It was a great weekend - I really needed it!
Hi everyone! 33 weeks now with our little guy. We just had an amazing weekend of friends and family. Friday, had my university roomies up to visit & went on a wine tour. I couldn't drink but I had a blast - it was our first weekend away in 3 years kid/husband free. So needed! Saturday my family put on a baby shower for us - it was soo cute and we got a lot of thoughtful gifts. My sister had everyone bring a book with a note in it instead of a card - really nice! Yesterday we went out and got the rest of what we think we might need so - let the nesting begin! lol
Edited to Add - QOTW:
Do you have any keepsake traditions/ideas? Baby books? Scrapbooks? Or any other way of capturing the memories of you LO? My mom did baby books with us and I'd really like to do that. The whole pregnancy I've been saying I need to transfer all the info from my app to a book but haven't yet!
Here are some pics - sorry they are so big but they did such a good job - have to share! (my fav were the Timbits Hedgehogs & there were little plastic babies in all the ice cubes - it was pretty funny!).

I am 29 weeks + 3 days with 1 little girl. I have been feeling her move and hiccup a lot! She likes to hiccup in the morning and then roll around all day. I think I posted that last week I failed my 1 hr glucose test and I don't get a 3 hour one so I am on a GD diet
QOTW: I do have a baby book that I plan to bring to the hospital. I also have an ultrasound keepsake book I got on Etsy! I started to want a place to keep all her sono pics and look at the transitions. Her nickname is Little Rabbit

@Colleen0516 so excited that you get to meet them this week!!! You have done a fantastic job keeping them growing strong. Thank you for sharing all of the ups and downs of your journey with us! It's been wonderful having your support in these boards!
@byrneme packing the hospital bag is so hard! I'm still putting it off. We joke that DH will be packing it as we walk out the door. Hopefully you can get it done and then just enjoy the next few weeks.
@jwatt5 I'm in love with the acorns and hedgehog. Way too cute!!
AFM, I'm 34 weeks 2 days and can't believe I'm getting close to the end. We met with the doula and finalized our birth plan this weekend. That's probably for the best as I've started to notice more Braxton Hicks, she's lower than she was before, and I'm starting to think there's a chance I'll go a little early. Time to start preparing my boss for that!
@Stars2016 - congrats on passing 3 hr glucose! such a relief I'm sure! Yay for being done work and being able to organize and have some downtime before baby. Have fun at your 3D/4D ultrasound
@byrneme - wow only a month away now! Incredible. I just started my hospital bag list (ie. thing I plan on packing). I don't know when I should actually have it organized/packed by, but figure my goal is around 36 weeks.
@omg your shower pics are incredible. How crafty and clever!!! they indeed did an amazing job!!! You look beautiful by the way!
AFM - We also had our shower not this past weekend, but the one before (aka the 17th). It was such an emotional day for me as I wasn't sure if 1) I'd ever get pregnant and thus have the chance to have a shower, and 2) If I'd have anyone at my shower since friends/family are so scattered. So many people came from out of town, I felt so beyond grateful and overwhelmed. As you may remember I was on vacation in Vancouver, Canada where this took place. We had some family drama (Eric's side) that I won't go into, but that included a health/medical emergency, so in a way we were glad were local at that time, but it also meant our relaxing babymoon was no more. We're hoping to get away for a relaxing weekend in San Antonio now as well. Just want some downtime / "us" time before baby comes if that makes sense, and we really didn't get that on our trip unfortunately.
QOTW: I created a dedicated instagram for our little guy. It's a private account and only family and really close friends have access but it's documenting the pregnancy and milestones and eventually will document him when he comes into this world. At some point I'll probably print them into a book, maybe when he turns 1 or something.

I'm just starting to feel pretty tired after working all day so I'm hoping these last few weeks at work go fairly smoothly because currently I'm floating around the clinic as the doctor I work for is on maternity leave! So each day is different and I go to different areas as needed.
Last night was the first night I had difficulty sleeping as she was moving around like crazy! Hopefully she's a little more calm tonight! Otherwise we are just trucking along over here!
QOTW: We have a baby book we will be bringing to the hospital. Otherwise I still want to have a picture collage done of her ultrasounds for her room... just haven't gotten around to it.
@colleen0516 how did the Dr appt go today? I can't believe that by Thursday you'll have them in your arms! You have been such a trooper through everything!
@stars2016 congrats on passing the 3 hr test!
@byrneme I don't know why it is so tough to pack that labor bag! I had the most difficult time motivating myself to do it! My husband had to practically force me after our birthing class because he was so worried...he's much more of a planner than me! But once it's done you'll feel better! We practiced installing our car seat in both cars the other night. I love the Chicco key fit 30 because it is so user friendly. I hope yours it as easy as ours was!
@jwatt5 love the theme of the baby shower! So stinking cute!
@oxinfree great pictures from the baby shower! Hopefully you guys will get a relaxing weekend to yourselves before baby arrives!
I know someone who created an email address for the Baby and writes her weekly emails. She will give her the email address and password when she is 16 or 18. Modern day journal!
@arb425 It was good! Hannah is SO low, but im still 2 cm. We have the whole induction or csection debate again and ofcourse in torn on my decision.
I have a sono tomm to get their weights and finalize whether we still have an option for induction. He is kind of giving me the choice and I wish he wouldn't. Im horrible when Hving to chose. My doctor is back and forth on if Baby boy will flip and/or if a breech birth will be okay. He said we can try, but that I need to know that I have a good chance of ending in a csection.
My gut says, Baby boy will flip to head down when baby girl is delivered BUT my head is saying don't risk it, do the c section and just guarantee a smooth delivery.
I think I'm going to chose csection over induction and just be safe.
if my body decides to go into labor sooner, I will just go with the flow of what my doctor says.

@byrneme yay for getting the hospital bag packed! We watched a quick YouTube video after reading the manual and the base was a snap to put in.
@oxinfree oh the laundry from the baby shower....that was super fun! It was nice to have it all done but goodness I didn't realize how much we had to wash!
@ARB425 @oxinfree - I just finished my laundry piles and sorting by size! It was more than I thought it would be! Nice to be almost done that though. I'm looking forward to the next step around 36 weeks when I want to pack the bag, start placing things around the house and such - my spare bedroom looks like a BabiesRUs right now lol. Feels so good though to have all the items we needed/wanted checked off the list!
One thing I forgot to mention (and if I did before and literally dont remember I'm sorry haha) - so I'm on a blood thinner for the migraines I have since they show neurological symptoms of TIA/stroke (had to have an MRI in the first trimester due one getting really bad) and then had said stay on it until at least 8 weeks postpartum or when you go on birth control. I think it was @latershrader that had said that typically the OB wants you off the thinner at 36-37 weeks to prep for the delivery which I guess is usually the case. but OB Med is really pushing back saying that I should stay on it as I'm at risk due the the hormone fluctuation that happens right after birth, which causes the bad migraines. So my OB and the specialist are going to talk about because IF I can't go off it, I may not be able to get an epidural - eek. Then my OB is on vacay next week so I'll see another OB and have to wait until my 36 weeks appt to find out the result. Cutting it a bit close and I'd like some time to maybe take an extra class if I can't have one. I know I'll live but...having the option potentially pulled makes me a little nervous.

Late to the party this week. The last two days are a blur. So much going on a work. Today is better, but only a little bit. I am starting to HAVE slow down at work. Not able to lift and bend like I used to. I have good colleagues though, so they are stepping up. However, HR wants a dr's note that I need to stop doing a lot of the physical stuff. Can't they just trust that a pregnant lady would not lie to them?! I hope this is the last big conference I have to do for a while. I had my glucose test and passed. But I am a little anemic so I have to start iron. Oh well. I'm just so glad I don't have gestational diabetes.
DH got our crib and changing table put together and I washed all the clothes we have so far. Progress is being made!

@latershrader glad you passed your glucose test! Sorry HR is giving you trouble but I'm sure it's because everyone is so sue happy now a days they are trying to cover their butts. My employer would require something from my Dr as well to change my activity level at work.
My OB appointment went well. I had the GBS test done...well that was uncomfortable as they swab your rectum as well. She is head down and has dropped significantly so things are moving in the right direction

Thanks @omarismyhomeboy - this was based on a belly measurement (not ultrasound image measurements... my OB's machine is not good enough for that, hence being sent for growth scan). At our 20 week anatomy scan Beau's limbs were "ahead" (aka very long) and stomach etc. were behind. Basically me in baby form haha, long and skinny. It's been 10 weeks now since then though so who knows where we're at now... I think @ARB425 that I do have "strong" ab muscles to a degree, but who the heck knows
