  • @mrsa2017 glad things are going well! Hopefully 3 weeks will fly by. I think we are all waiting on July to come. :) I also have PCOS and it sucks. Not sure if you get facial hair but those stims hormones made mine grow fast throughout those 14 days. Argh. Dumb hormones.
TTC 4 years. 7 failed IUI's with either Clomid, Femara and/or Trigger Shots. Started IVF journey in February 2017. Polyps removed in May. 1st IVF Transfer September 26th. BFP. Expected due date 6/14/18. Baby boy born 5/25/18 at 6 lb 9 oz. My bundle of joy.

  • @SP128  wishing you all the luck in the world for healthy sticky bean to get all cozy in there!!!  yea nkotb was my first concert and are still my loves!!  I wish buttoning my jeans would be just a day of bloat, I got like 6 months worth of bloat here.  They fit pre-ivf though  :s

bionerdsteph glad to see your progressing so nicely and hoping that you have a great outcome!  I'm glad you know your RE and what to expect.  Its always better to down play it so you come back pleasantly surprised!

@Holls214  do you know where they sent your results?  Hoping your outcome is WAY better then mine!  I'm guessing you should hear something before the weekend.  nkotb who was your fav, or still is :)

@KZ1126 - ur so close hope ur line gets darker!!  nkotb who was your fav, or still is :)

JaeJayStark wishing u all the luck in the world for a successful RE!!!!

(TW) My update has a trigger warning as its not good news and negative so the rest of my message will not leave you feeling good.  SO read on at your own risk.
AFM: Hi ladies been a rough day for me!  PGS Results came back and they straight up suck!  2 out of the 3 embryos are abnormal and the 3rd had no DNA...meaning theres an error and need to retest it, IF I want to.  I have to dethaw the embryo and do the process and cost again.  AND have to hope the egg survives all of it.  You wanna talk about feeling so discouraged, today would be that day!  How do 3 "perfect looking" embabies come back bad.
Yes I know I have normies waiting, but do I, cause science is always right.  Have I been crying all day and a basket case, yup!  Does OH not want me to transfer and come back to myself, yep!  Can I argue with him, I dont know.  Right now I want to do nothing, I feel like this is never going to work.
I feel bad having these thoughts when we're all going through different struggles, to get to transfer etc.  Being all out of pocket and being able to put a price tag on your unhappiness to boot really sux!
If I was younger I would take a break but I'm not so what do you do.  Today I'm mad that I have to still be in this process.  I'm pissed even more with my MC today.  I had everything I wanted and lost it, how do you move past that.

  • @Hopeful_mom I'm thinking they sent them to California and I'm in Oregon with OHSU. We should hear by Friday. I'm so incredibly sorry for your bad news.. We are paying for everything out of pocket also which is tough because money does matter to en extent. Again I am so sorry to hear your news. Do you have any other embabies frozen from your other ER's? Thinking of you.

@Hopeful_mom  Oh lady.  I'm so sorry to hear your update.  I'm heartbroken for you  :'( How long do you have to decide if you want to retest the third embryo? This process is so difficult that you can't help but have some doubt.  It stinks that science isn't always exact and it stinks even more when our bodies don't work the way we want them to.  Yes, you may have some doubt on the normals you have but it is the only information you have to work with.  This totally sucks and you are entitled to have all the feelings.

@bionerdsteph FX that your eggs are just right and not scrambled.  You have some pretty good numbers!  I also agree that the RE tends to err on the side of caution with optimism.  Less of a let down that way.  For me at least.

@JaeJayStark  Thinking of you this morning.  Happy egg hunt  :)

  • @Hopeful_mom - ugh, I'm sorry for your PGS results. I know it's a tough blow, but I really think by getting that blow now, you are avoiding future heartbreak - if that's any small consolation. Still, sucks that you've had to go through another round of IVF to get that news! Horrible! I'd cry too!

It looks to me like you have 4 PGS normal embryos waiting for you, though - is that right? I know it's risky - and that there's a big difference between an embryo and a live baby - but to me, those look like a good shot! Don't lose hope that those 4 are going to go the distance! I imagine that what you've been through this past year - all these rounds of IVF and the MC - would be pretty traumatizing. I can imagine that doing an FET after all of that would be downright terrifying, even with 4 PGS normal embryos.

Did you do PGS testing before your MC?
  • KZ1126KZ1126 member
@hopeful_mom   ugh that is so frustrating. You'd think they would retest for free since it costs an INSANE amount to do and it was an error!!! And you never move past those MCs. It is the cruelest thing that can happen to someone and there are still days when those feelings just creep back in.  IF sucks, feels like you're constantly chasing something that is just out of reach.  But I have faith in you!

not trying to downplay your situation but maybe this face will cheer you up the teeeniest bit? Usually works for me!

Your comeback will be great and I believe that 1 out of your 4 normal embryos is your take home blessing  <3

@Holls214 OMG for facial hair.... I can deal with the multiple cysts on my ovaries but the facial hair annoys me in every which way. I now have dark chin because I tweeze the hair every time I get a strand smt.... uuuugggghhh. How do you deal with it? Noone here in the Freeport, Bah does laser treatments but that will definitely be my next step since I still have to wax so often.

@mrsa2017 The procedure was seriously 5 minutes.  I wasn't expecting the cover to be lifted above my knee for all to see.  The nurse said i could use a cover for privacy, but it didn't cover much since it was lifted to past my belly : )  We got a pic of the embryo and we took a selfie with it.

@mrsa2017  I really wanted to put in 2 PGS tested ones.  My insurance company have other plans.  1 embryo at a time until I hit a certain age - I think 38.  Also, each IVF cycle needs to be accompanied by a fresh transfer.

@hopefulmom I was out of this board for a couple of days, due to long hours at work. I wanted to reach out and tell you how sorry I am for your last news! That pain is crushing! It's insanely tough to go through a MC as well, as the lost will always hurt. I had one MC three years ago and only now I feel like the pain is not as deep with me any more. I'm not sure if I would be able to keep going with trying if I would experience multiple IVF failures, MC and other tragedies. But we are all different and deserves what we truly need and want. Wish you to have peace with any of your decision!
  • @sp128 congrats being pupo!!!  Really hope ur lil one is getting all comfy cozy and you just had to endure IVF 1!  You're grading system sounds different, did the rest stop growing?  Hoping you have a bunch for testing!

@mrsa2017 Holls214 i dont have PCOS but feel like a hairy monkey anyway!  Even if I feel a croase hair I run got my tweezer, its so sexy  :D I tried laser removal as well and really never felt like u helped, they said my hair was to fine...yet they're still driving me nuts.  Maybe the hormones make it worse.

JaeJayStark hoping your ER went well and youre feeling well.

KZ1126 you brought tears and smiles to my face.

Enia11  I think i've felt like this is my job, yet I pay for it and dont get paid.  We all have struggles and I know life isn't fair but it still doesn't make me feel better.

Ladies thanks to all of you for taking the time to write me, I can't say I didn't cry through all of them.  I know today is a new day but I still feel just as sad.  Speaking to the embrologist just upset me more.  They dont usually retest the embryo unless its the last one you have left as the process could damage it.  That doesn't work for me I need to know exactly what I have left with moving forward so I'm gonna just tell them to move forward.  Its all so frustrating and its like looking at someone that is perfectly beautiful on the outside and yet inside they're super sick...well that's great that my embryos just look good.  I get it, I just hate the answer.  Yes I have 4 normal embryos that I should be thrilled about.  I wanted to move to the next process having 5/6 so I was at peace with having 5 and feeling hopeful.  It's because of my age that its a now or never situation to make healthy embryos.  They say once past 42 its tougher to do.  Can it happen sure....but we see how many cycles i've been through to get 4.  AND I didn't do testing in the beginning with my fresh transfer as my RE didn't think it was necessary and then thats kind of why I had my MC so thats hard to except too.  They "assume" the other embryo was abnormal even though it was ahead of schedule according to the measurements and heartbeat.

Ugh @hopeful_mom, I'm so so sorry.  This process is excruciating and emotional, take extra good care of yourself lady.  Message me if you need to chat :)

@sp128 congrats on being pupo!!  Hope the tww flies by!
  • @Hopeful_mom - the PGS testing is so hard, because it eliminates so many, but I'm 100% sure you did the right thing, and that these 4 normal embies you have are going to give you the baby you want!

This stuff is awful, it's so tough. I mean, I don't know everyone's story here, but I know that not everyone meets someone they want to settle down with when they're 22... I'm lucky that I met my DH when I was 29, but it could have happened later, you know? I kissed a LOT of frogs before I met a nice guy who loves me and treats me well... It sucks that you have to go through so many more cycles to get the results you're getting - it's BS. But I think you're doing the right things, you're being careful and cautious, you're taking all the steps you should take, and that you're going to be a great mom someday soon!

Keeping fingers crossed for you and for those 4 PGS normal embies!!
  • We got the testing back!! We had 8 normal embryos. 1 had a chromosome error. There are 5 boys and 3 girls. Ahhhh! We find out our protocol tomorrow.

  • Hi ladies,  just starting to be less sleepy/drugged. Good news and some not so perfect news - Good news is she got 5 eggs out. Hooray! That's pretty good in my situation.  Not so perfect news is she had to go through my uterus to get to the left ovary and poke through my lovely lining. We are switching from fresh to frozen transfer so that we get the perfect lining. I know nothing about frozen transfer so it's time for homework!

The other weird thing is that there was tissue peeling in my vagina that they pulled off/ sniped out. They are doing a biopsy for cancer. Wtf!? I needed another thing to worry about.

@Holls214 I am so thrilled for you! Feel free to send your extra embies my way :) I'm anxious to hear your next steps!

@Hopeful_mom still thinking of you. What funkykey said! You are so doing the right things. We are all sending you our best wishes. I'm s thankful you have your 4!

If anyone is open to sharing, how much does pgs testing run?

    @Holls214 - hooray!

@JaeJayStark - OMG, that sounds horrible. Wishing your lining a speedy recovery and hoping that the peeling tissue was nothing/caused by some of this IVF process- something minor! Also keeping FX for your 5 eggs!

For us, the PGS testing was another $3k.
  • @JaeJayStark that's a good number! Yay! The rest sounds painful I'm sorry... :( hopefully the recovery won't be too bad. Yeah it was an extra $3000 just about. We will be waiting your results the next couple days. Get some rest.

@Hopeful_mom Lurking and rooting for you. Take heart, my RE says 4 normal embryos means average 2 babies according to stats. Could even be 4! In my case, would I be able to carry 4 if needed? Definitely not, so other questions are raised then..Anyway, you do have 4, good luck with the FET!!! And last resort, you can still retest the unknown one later! You are in a good position, look at the positives!

@JaeJayStark fx that the tissue thing is nothing serious and your lining heals quickly to a cushy thickness. My pgs is $3300 up front for up to 14 embryos. There is a per embryo rate if I go over or under. I think it's a max of $4500 per time.

  • UPDATE: I just talked to the nurse and 4 out of 5 fertilized!!!! I'm so happy! That's a pretty good result all things considered! they did ICSI to up the chances. We have decided to take a full cycle off to get all healed and healthy so my transfer won't be until late August I think. I'm feeling pretty positive so that's great!

  • @JaeJayStark  congrats on having 4 - hoping they all make it through for you!  Thats some ordeal you've had to go through.  A little scary with having extra stuff going on hoping that its nothing but glad they took it out for testing!!  As for the PGS places usually have bundle deals.  Based on how many you get and then if you're going to be banking etc.  The places I used I think you would pay about 1k for 4 eggs.  I just paid 790 for the 3 I had but thats cause I'm now paying my egg since my bundle was 1850 for 8 and then 180 for each egg after.  $250 shipping fee.  This is such a business its insane.

    @sp128  how are you feeling!!

Holls214 thats such fantastic news, congrats!!  Thats how this process should work, you've got a great number and both genders to get the party started you can't ask for more.  I wish everyone could have such results right out the bat!

liljoy i'm really trying its just hard - it goes back to the testing where i'm doing it for everyone else and its not what i wanted...yes it should give me a better shot BUT i could have more then i do and i'm never going to know.  The testing has made this process way harder on e for sure, i hate it.  I hate IF, but i hate pgs testing more, its breaking me.

Aera11 was thinking about yu the other day - will pm u!

funkykey its soo true, I feel like i'm being punished and I'm really not such a bad person.  I've waited a LONG time to find a man I even wanted to have a child with and its like I shouldve used a donor years ago and called it a day.  I have the guy and i'm putting him through hell as i'm so sad and he can't make me feel better.  Life is stressful enough and I know my sadness is not helping the situation.

AFM: I wish I could say I've been feeling better but I haven't - I hate that I've lost so much faith and am so angry with g-d currently.  I'm not a super religious person but I do have faith and I just dont get it.  Life is hard but its not suppose to be this hard.  I hate walking down the street and seeing family with FLOCKS of kids and i'm still desperately trying for one!
I did have a cocktail today and from not drinking i think it added to my pounding headache.  Hopefully I can just get some sleep.

  • @Hopeful_mom been thinking about you... Sometimes I just think wtf too. Why does it have to be so hard for some of us? Atfer 4 years thru this process and no positive tests leaves little faith. I feel that. Sorry you are going through all of this. Sending lots of love your way.

@JaeJayStark  Nice update : )  When will you get the next report?

@Holls214  It's only a month and a half away.  Hope it goes by quick with fun summer plans.

@Hopeful_mom  I've been thinking about you too.  This whole thing sucks.  I've found myself thinking the same things as you.  Seems like everyone else can have their babies (whether they deserve it or not) so why not us.  I'm still hopeful that you will get your baby.  It will be so much sweeter when the time comes. I'm feeling ok.  The bloat has come down a little, the tummy is still protruding though.  At least I don't feel like I'm waddling anymore.

@mrsa2017  7/10 is our first anniversary!!  It's the day DH lost his independence : )  Celebrate away.

On transfer day, the RE said he would email with how many embabies were going to be biopsied and frozen.  Did he follow through?  Nope.

If this cycle doesn't work, I'm going to opt to do another fresh cycle hopefully in August.  I'm just not confident that I will have 3 or more normals after PGS testing considering the RE said maybe 4 will make it to freeze and biopsy.

My insurance says I have to do a FET if I have 3 or more frozen normals.

  • SP128 is ur insurance covering your PGS too?  I need to move where you are, thats some great insurance!  I wish mine had so many rules so it would mean that they actually paid for something!  Yes I run into the whether they deserve it or not.  Every person on welfare or drugs has no problem getting KU.  My acupuncturist stated what do u expect they are carefree and stress free which makes it simple for them....well thats just great!  I would be pissed if I didn't know what was going on!  Hopefully they all made it through!  Just think you'll be that much closer getting ur results.  Are you going to POAS???  Happy almost anniversary, what are you planning to do?

SP128 Holls214 taking all the love i need it, OH just doesn't understand!!  And the more i show my distress the more he wont want me doing the FET.  Its amazing we finished our IVF at the same time and our transfer days are about a month apart.

mrsa2017 enjoy ur birthday month and celebrate away!

  • @Hopeful_mom I unfortunately do not think our other halves will ever fully understand. My DH is very supportive but I don't think he fully gets the emotional stress and what we put our bodies through. I thought my FET would be a lot sooner like yours. Oh well I suppose. Hope you have a good day!

@Hopeful_mom  My insurance company does not pay for PGS.  I know we are fortunate to have coverage but according to my RE, my insurance company is the worst when it comes to their "rules."  For instance, my lifetime is 5 IVF cycles which includes FETs.  Other insurance companies cover 6 lifetime.  I don't think they count FETs as a cycle, so six rounds of stimming, er, etc.

I definitely get frustrated with people who have no business having babies.  Like discussed earlier this week, not everyone finds who they want to have kids with when they are young.  I always feel like I'm being punished for doing the right thing.

We don't have plans for our anniversary.  My beta is scheduled for the day before.  All we have talked about is grilling out and getting the same flavor wedding cake.

I'm not sure if I'm going to POAS yet.  I haven't tested out the trigger.  I'm still thinking of this whole cycle as the process I need to go through and won't be successful with this round.
