  • Hi ladies!! I'm currently 31 weeks and 4 days with a little boy. I just found out a few days ago I passed my 3 hour glucose test so I'm super relieved about that. Tomorrow night we have our 3D/4D ultrasound and I can't wait to see his little face! I hope they are able to get good pictures. I go back next Monday for my 32 week check up. I am done work for the summer and I am looking forward to having time to get things organized and set up for our little man!! I hope everyone is staying hydrated and cool in the summer heat.

@Colleen0516 I am so happy that your babies hung in there this long! Fingers crossed you have progress today at your doctor's appointment
  • @Colleen0516 - what a roller coaster indeed!!! I'm so excited for you and the babies and CANNOT wait to see pictures THIS WEEK! Congratulations and best of luck!!!!

AFM - still just cruising along at 35w6d (what?!?!?). Our heat wave here in the Midwest broke and we've had GORGEOUS weather. I know it's unrealistic to think it could last all of July but one can dream! I'm determined to pack my hospital bag tonight - I have no idea why this is such a difficult task for me! We need to get the car seats in this week - our Children's Hospital has a check event next - but then we are pretty much ready. Which seems nuts to me! My DH's 40th birthday was the 16th and he went to the US Open on a boy's trip and we had his party this weekend. It was great to have all our friends and family together - I kind of feel like it was our last hurrah for awhile. We are typically the host for most events so it was a little bittersweet. It was also very entertaining as the sober person :) One of my friends had her baby (we are in a bit of a baby boom in our friend group, I'm not even next lol) so I went to meet him yesterday. Of course, he's adorable, but I realized the next time I'll be at the hospital it will be ME leaving with a baby!

QOTW - a friend recommended the Lucy Darling baby book to me and I'm obsessed with how simple it is. Not a ton of writing so you can't really get 'behind'. I love it. I also plan on using the GlowBaby app for feedings/diapers/milestones. The key word is 'plan'.

  • Wow congrats @Colleen0516 for making it through! And with 2 babies!

I am 29 weeks + 3 days with 1 little girl. I have been feeling her move and hiccup a lot! She likes to hiccup in the morning and then roll around all day. I think I posted that last week I failed my 1 hr glucose test and I don't get a 3 hour one so I am on a GD diet :s It's not my favorite thing in the world, but anything to keep her healthy. My next appt is in 2 weeks so we'll see how my fasting glucose looks then.

QOTW: I do have a baby book that I plan to bring to the hospital. I also have an ultrasound keepsake book I got on Etsy! I started to want a place to keep all her sono pics and look at the transitions. Her nickname is Little Rabbit :)

  • Good luck today @kdanjou!!

@Colleen0516 so excited that you get to meet them this week!!! You have done a fantastic job keeping them growing strong. Thank you for sharing all of the ups and downs of your journey with us! It's been wonderful having your support in these boards!

@byrneme packing the hospital bag is so hard! I'm still putting it off. We joke that DH will be packing it as we walk out the door. Hopefully you can get it done and then just enjoy the next few weeks.

@jwatt5 I'm in love with the acorns and hedgehog. Way too cute!!

AFM, I'm 34 weeks 2 days and can't believe I'm getting close to the end. We met with the doula and finalized our birth plan this weekend. That's probably for the best as I've started to notice more Braxton Hicks, she's lower than she was before, and I'm starting to think there's a chance I'll go a little early. Time to start preparing my boss for that!
  • @omarismyhomeboy - my little guy is hiccuping a ton too. Daily for sure! :)

@persnickity - Yay for meeting with doula and finalizing your birth plan. I have to schedule my next meeting, but my doula wanted me to get a good ways into our Bradley Method class first so we could also do our birth plan, so probably mid July. Time is flying by!

Hi everyone! I'm 35w1day due with our little girl July 30th! It's so crazy to think in 5 short weeks we will meet her and become a family! I have an OB appt in Wednesday so we will see what happens then. I bought some organizational baskets this weekend for her drawers and closet so I'm going to start working on that each night after week. I just want to sort all her clothes by sizes and put together a bath basket/ breastfeeding basket/area for diapers/creams etc.

I'm just starting to feel pretty tired after working all day so I'm hoping these last few weeks at work go fairly smoothly because currently I'm floating around the clinic as the doctor I work for is on maternity leave! So each day is different and I go to different areas as needed.
Last night was the first night I had difficulty sleeping as she was moving around like crazy! Hopefully she's a little more calm tonight! Otherwise we are just trucking along over here!

QOTW:  We have a baby book we will be bringing to the hospital. Otherwise I still want to have a picture collage done of her ultrasounds for her room... just haven't gotten around to it.

@colleen0516 how did the Dr appt go today? I can't believe that by Thursday you'll have them in your arms! You have been such a trooper through everything!

@stars2016 congrats on passing the 3 hr test!

@byrneme I don't know why it is so tough to pack that labor bag! I had the most difficult time motivating myself to do it! My husband had to practically force me after our birthing class because he was so worried...he's much more of a planner than me! But once it's done you'll feel better! We practiced installing our car seat in both cars the other night. I love the Chicco key fit 30 because it is so user friendly. I hope yours it as easy as ours was!

@jwatt5 love the theme of the baby shower! So stinking cute!

@oxinfree great pictures from the baby shower! Hopefully you guys will get a relaxing weekend to yourselves before baby arrives!

    @oxinfree that's a cute idea!!
I know someone who created an email address for the Baby and writes her weekly emails. She will give her the email address and password when she is 16 or 18. Modern day journal!

@arb425 It was good! Hannah is SO low, but im still 2 cm. We have the whole induction or csection debate again and ofcourse in torn on my decision.
I have a sono tomm to get their weights and finalize whether we still have an option for induction. He is kind of giving me the choice and I wish he wouldn't. Im horrible when Hving to chose. My doctor is back and forth on if Baby boy will flip and/or if a breech birth will be okay. He said we can try, but that I need to know that I have a good chance of ending in a csection.
My gut says, Baby boy will flip to head down when baby girl is delivered BUT my head is saying don't risk it, do the c section and just guarantee a smooth delivery.
I think I'm going to chose csection over induction and just be safe.
if my body decides to go into labor sooner, I will just go with the flow of what my doctor says.

@colleen0516 I hope your sono went well today and maybe it gave you some more clues as to what to do. Trust your instincts and your body. At the end of the day all that matters is that you have 2 healthy babies in your arms.

@byrneme yay for getting the hospital bag packed! We watched a quick YouTube video after reading the manual and the base was a snap to put in.

@oxinfree oh the laundry from the baby shower....that was super fun! It was nice to have it all done but goodness I didn't realize how much we had to wash!

  • JWatt5JWatt5 member
@Colleen0516 - hope all went well for your sono today!! Like the others have said - trust your instincts. I think I would feel the same way you do - still holding hope but my head saying lets just do the c-section - the back and forth is mentally tiring sometimes! Hopefully after today you feel more settled on a decision.

@ARB425 @oxinfree - I just finished my laundry piles and sorting by size! It was more than I thought it would be! Nice to be almost done that though. I'm looking forward to the next step around 36 weeks when I want to pack the bag, start placing things around the house and such - my spare bedroom looks like a BabiesRUs right now lol. Feels so good though to have all the items we needed/wanted checked off the list!

One thing I forgot to mention (and if I did before and literally dont remember I'm sorry haha) - so I'm on a blood thinner for the migraines I have since they show neurological symptoms of TIA/stroke (had to have an MRI in the first trimester due one getting really bad) and then had said stay on it until at least 8 weeks postpartum or when you go on birth control. I think it was @latershrader that had said that typically the OB wants you off the thinner at 36-37 weeks to prep for the delivery which I guess is usually the case. but OB Med is really pushing back saying that I should stay on it as I'm at risk due the the hormone fluctuation that happens right after birth, which causes the bad migraines. So my OB and the specialist are going to talk about because IF I can't go off it, I may not be able to get an epidural - eek. Then my OB is on vacay next week so I'll see another OB and have to wait until my 36 weeks appt to find out the result. Cutting it a bit close and I'd like some time to maybe take an extra class if I can't have one. I know I'll live but...having the option potentially pulled makes me a little nervous.

Late to the party this week. The last two days are a blur. So much going on a work. Today is better, but only a little bit. I am starting to HAVE slow down at work. Not able to lift and bend like I used to. I have good colleagues though, so they are stepping up. However, HR wants a dr's note that I need to stop doing a lot of the physical stuff. Can't they just trust that a pregnant lady would not lie to them?! I hope this is the last big conference I have to do for a while. I had my glucose test and passed. But I am a little anemic so I have to start iron. Oh well. I'm just so glad I don't have gestational diabetes.
DH got our crib and changing table put together and I washed all the clothes we have so far. Progress is being made!

  • Anyone else here measuring behind? Had our 30 week OB appointment and belly is measuring at 27 weeks. I am tall so hopefully that's factoring in, but I'm being sent for an additional growth scan. Anyone else dealing with this or have insight?

  • @oxinfree Hmmm my doc doesn't measure belly....mine is HUGE (I'm short/petite). Did they give you a percentile for the actual baby? Or, at least, percentiles for head/femur/abdomen? Parts of my girl are measuring much smaller than other parts her.

@oxinfree it might be your abdominal muscles/core have lots of strength, baby is low in pelvic area or she may just be measuring a little small side. All other ultrasounds have been normal? There is a range they use for fundal height and it sounds like the growth scan is just for precaution.

@latershrader glad you passed your glucose test! Sorry HR is giving you trouble but I'm sure it's because everyone is so sue happy now a days they are trying to cover their butts. My employer would require something from my Dr as well to change my activity level at work.

My OB appointment went well. I had the GBS test done...well that was uncomfortable as they swab your rectum as well.  She is head down and has dropped significantly so things are moving in the right direction
  •  @Colleen0516 CONGRATULATIONS!
I'm so happy for you! :)

@colleen0516 Congratulations! I'm so happy for you and your family! Get some rest and snuggle those babies! On a side note: gas pain is the worst! This sounds totally silly but the best way to relieve it is to get on all fours, shoulders down and butt up. Gas rises if you know what I mean! After having surgery this was the best and fastest way to relieve it.

  • @Colleen0516 I'm so glad everyone is doing great! So much joy for your little family! Congratulations! Rest up and heal fast!

  • Congrats @Colleen0516 !! I'm so over the moon thrilled for you. Hope you and the kiddos are doing well and resting up as much as possible <3

Thanks @omarismyhomeboy  - this was based on a belly measurement (not ultrasound image measurements... my OB's machine is not good enough for that, hence being sent for growth scan). At our 20 week anatomy scan Beau's limbs were "ahead" (aka very long) and stomach etc. were behind. Basically me in baby form haha, long and skinny. It's been 10 weeks now since then though so who knows where we're at now... I think @ARB425 that I do have "strong" ab muscles to a degree, but who the heck knows ;) . Hopefully I get some reassurance from this next scan, just waiting for them to call and schedule. Ugh.

  • Congrats @Colleen0516!

@oxinfree My coworker just had an 8lb baby last Sunday... She was measuring about 4 weeks behind for fundal height. It's her third and she measured on track for the others.
  • that's super reassuring @persnickity <3 thanks
