The countdown continues in my world! 4 more days til I'm PUPO! The PIO last night wasn't really too bad at all. OH had it ready and waiting when I got home from work last night. He ended up doing a very good job - he even put a band aid on my bum! lol
I forgot to mention this the other day but OH and I had a lengthy discussion with RE about transferring 3 vs 2 embryos. OH suggested to me that we do 3 so we decided to ask at our last monitoring appt. RE said she would advise to only do 2 as I am young and she doesn't feel the need to go "balls to the wall" with 3 (she actually said that! LOL). She thinks that we are being aggressive enough with transferring 2 day five blasts as opposed to 2 three day embies like last time. I voiced my concerns about the lone embie and going thru the financial and emotional expense of this whole process for our last and worst looking embie (should this cycle fail or we want a 2nd child). She said that if this FET doesn't work then she would prob want me to just do another cycle from scratch. ugh! So in short, there's nothing I want more than for this FET to work!!!
Hey all, been avoiding this thread after my June FET got cancelled. But stopped by here now and caught out a little bit and I'm soooooo happy to see so many BFP!!!!
AFM... had the hysteroscopy yesterday and now I'm on 2 weeks antibiotics. And will probably start the prep after I'm done with the it. So probably my FET will be in August.

Side note: today I fell up the stairs at work, lol so embarrassing.. At least that distracted me a bit hehe elbow and knee got the brunt of it..
Anyway I've been on Crinone for a few days now, and it's starting to bother my nether regions, lots of dryness and gunky build up. I'm kinda scared to tell my RE as I don't want to risk cancelling my cycle...I guess I'll just have to grin and bear it, since I definitely don't want to switch to the poi....*sigh* the joys of ivf
@cmiller73 I was getting worried about you glad to hear from you!! hoping the double numbers are on its way!! You're still in it!!
colette18 my nurse mentions once it gets too clunky to just take that out...mine felt like a stuck tampon.
i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake kind of interesting that your RE doesn't want to do all 3? I get it too. Instead of doing the 2 strongest, why not do one strong and the weaker one? Hopefully you wont have that issue of the what to do next. good luck!!

Besides acupuncture before and after transfer did anyone keep going leading up to the transfer? Once a week? Twice a week? or after??
And the Sex question, once you started prep no sex? I basically dont have a sex life doing all these back to back ivf cycles so just curious.

@Hopeful_mom, I only did acupuncture before and after transfer, however I am a massage therapist and doula so I did fertility massage for the last 4 weeks.
As for sex I only avoid it for a week after transfer. We had protected sex before transfer, waited a week, and now back to regular unprotected sex.
@Hopeful_mom I have not done acupuncture so I don't have any say there. As far a sex goes the only time I'm told not to is during the TWW, protected or unprotected, but it is actually on our med schedule to have sex 2 days prior to transfer.

Thanks @nim81 @Hopeful_mom i was told no sex until beta @colette18 praying you have a smooth transfer tomorrow and that the embies are sticky ones!! AFM I slept so good since my transfer and im just so tired ...before the transfer i was having trouble sleeping hoping and praying this is a good thing..

AFM, Beta #2 was good but again not great. (being blunt is helping me haha) I had a 62% increase so yes, a good increase and basically what they say is what should be happening every 48 hours or so (at least thats what doctor google says). I stay the course over the weekend with my meds and go back on Monday.... FX Lucky lil #10 wanted to be fashionably late to the uterus party and is now settling in nicely
@momma6angels11 it was 63 up from 39 (technically I rounded up haha) The nurse also told me to stop testing... 'YOU ARE PREGNANT. Geez, we just need to make sure it is developing and growing properly!" hahah I LOLd at that. I was so proud my line got much darker and she was like 'aw sweetie... stop testing'
@momma6angels11, I havent had beta yet, so take this with a grain of salt. Around 4-5days after transfer I had intense back aches that lasted 2 days and since I've just felt drained and achey. Today I was nauseous, but I had just eaten and was running around outside in the heat so... not sure if that was related.
I have also experienced cramping, breast tenderness, bloat (oh the bloat), gas, and extra sweaty... but I'm pretty sure that is all the PIO.
TW: the only other time I have been pregnant I experienced the low back pain as well. I was convinced my period was coming any second because it felt exactly like the start of my period.
@cowboycorgi thanks! I definitely have had the ache in my lower back and crampy and just so tired.. Your beta will be here soon enough!! @colette18 i hope all went well today with your transfer!! And you are PUPO!!

@momma6angels11 i appreciate your positive thoughts! So far so good...I'm unofficially pupo! They transferred 2 embies, one of which was already hatching. The nurse and doctor seemed really happy about that.. it's a 2hour drive home so we stopped for lunch right after, went for a walk, did a little food shopping then headed home. I slept half of the car ride, felt really exhausted!
... and the TWW begins! when is your first BETA? Mine is July 3rd...

I had an infuriating phone call on Friday afternoon, and I'm still fuming more than 48 hours later. My RE can see me through nine weeks of pregnancy, so I called my OB/gyn's office to make an appointment for the 9-week mark. (Hope I didn't jinx things by calling that early, but I wanted to get on their calendar.) I love the doctor that I've seen at this practice, but the receptionist I spoke with could not have been more unpleasant.
I called and said, "I'm a 40-year-old patient of Dr. G's, and I'm pregnant after IVF, and I wanted to make an appointment to see her at 9 weeks after I've been discharged from my RE."
Surly receptionist: "Well, you would see all our doctors throughout a pregnancy. Not just Dr. G." [No "congratulations" or warmth, but that's fine. Just don't be rude.]
Me: "I totally understand that I need to rotate through, but I'd love to start with Dr. G, given that she's the one who first referred me to ART, and I've been through two IUIs, three IVFs, a miscarriage, and surgery to remove an ovarian cyst, and she consulted with me about the surgery."
Surly receptionist: "Well, Dr. G is on vacation the week you say you are at 9 weeks."
Me: "What about the next week?"
SR: "She's on vacation then too."
Me: "Okay, I'll see a different doctor then."
SR: "Okay, I have you down to see Kerry Smith at 1 pm."
Me [wondering why she didn't say "doctor Smith"]: "Is Kerry Smith an MD?"
SR: "She's a midwife."
Me [pissed]: "I have nothing against midwifery (except maybe that ridiculous word), but I just explained to you that I've been through a loss, a surgery, two IUIs and three IVFs, and I'm 40. I want to see a medical doctor!"
And... it turns out that there were tons of appointments available that day with another doctor. She gave me an appointment with a doctor I've seen and liked. So, basically, I felt like the receptionist was just trying to sneakily slot me in for my first OB appointment with a midwife without asking me. It felt underhanded and calculating, and I was so annoyed. If I didn't think highly of the doctors I'd seen there, I would want to switch practices. But after the call, while my BP was sky-high, my husband calmed me down by saying that it would be ridiculous to give up on doctors I like over a problem with the support staff. And I know he's right. But man, I picked up the phone with such optimism and joy and by the time I hung up I felt defeated and furious.

@Stairbear I'm so sorry you had to deal with that. I'm kinda nervous about calling the OB so I'll be waiting for a while. I LOVED the OB i had before and would hope to have him again but he is now a delivery doc only not a regular OB but I understand that he does step in as an OB/delivery for those who are having multiples so I'm hoping that's in my favor.

Lots of luck to @i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake today on your transfer, and @Cowboycorgi on an encouraging beta result. I know the spotting is disconcerting, but the fact that it is brown has got to be reassuring...
I've had a sore throat and have been sniffly and feeling cold since yesterday afternoon, the day after my transfer... Also have extra cm ( that's prob bc of all the progesterone tho)...
I'm considering POAS... when would be the recommended time to test you think? Anxiety is already peaking!! Haha
@colette18, I got my bfp at 8dp2dt or 10dpo. The urge to poas was so strong, I don't know how people wait until beta... but they are probably smarter for it.
Afm: 1st beta 242! Now to wait until Wednesday to find out doubling time... ugh, the waiting continues. Infertility has not taught me patience. Infertility has taught me to hate waiting even more. I hope you girls never have to wait for another thing in life. We have done our waiting.

@thucks, thank you! The nurse I spoke to said it was pretty common for women going through IVF to get brown spotting, or even light bleeding. She said it could either be implantation bleeding, or a little cervical bleeding from the procedure just making its way out now. She didn't seem to mind it lasting for 3 days, and no spotting today!
@cmiller73 how was your beta today? @cowboycorgi that is a great beta!! Usually brown blood means nothing and im glad the nurse was not concerned.. @colette18 all pregnancies are different as they can be slower to implant so poas is hard to judge when to do it.. Who else was supposed to have beta today?
BUT AFM yesterday i got a wave of nausea out of nowhere with steady backache and today had crazy heartburn..
**TW** My last pregnancy i poas 3dp5dt and got a very very faint + and at 3dp5dt this time it was a - But Girls......this morning at 4 1/2 dp5dt i got a very very faint BFP that got a tad darker later today at 5dp5dt (i had an afternoon transfer)
@momma6angels11 Today's beta was 206 (it more than tripled from Friday!!) I go back in on Wednesday again for blood work and take it from there...

(being blunt is helping me haha) I had a 62% increase so yes, a good increase and basically what they say is what should be happening every 48 hours or so (at least thats what doctor google says). I stay the course over the weekend with my meds and go back on Monday.... FX Lucky lil #10 wanted to be fashionably late to the uterus party and is now settling in nicely
I have also experienced cramping, breast tenderness, bloat (oh the bloat), gas, and extra sweaty... but I'm pretty sure that is all the PIO.

the only other time I have been pregnant I experienced the low back pain as well. I was convinced my period was coming any second because it felt exactly like the start of my period.

I had an infuriating phone call on Friday afternoon, and I'm still fuming more than 48 hours later. My RE can see me through nine weeks of pregnancy, so I called my OB/gyn's office to make an appointment for the 9-week mark. (Hope I didn't jinx things by calling that early, but I wanted to get on their calendar.) I love the doctor that I've seen at this practice, but the receptionist I spoke with could not have been more unpleasant.
I called and said, "I'm a 40-year-old patient of Dr. G's, and I'm pregnant after IVF, and I wanted to make an appointment to see her at 9 weeks after I've been discharged from my RE."
Surly receptionist: "Well, you would see all our doctors throughout a pregnancy. Not just Dr. G." [No "congratulations" or warmth, but that's fine. Just don't be rude.]
Me: "I totally understand that I need to rotate through, but I'd love to start with Dr. G, given that she's the one who first referred me to ART, and I've been through two IUIs, three IVFs, a miscarriage, and surgery to remove an ovarian cyst, and she consulted with me about the surgery."
Surly receptionist: "Well, Dr. G is on vacation the week you say you are at 9 weeks."
Me: "What about the next week?"
SR: "She's on vacation then too."
Me: "Okay, I'll see a different doctor then."
SR: "Okay, I have you down to see Kerry Smith at 1 pm."
Me [wondering why she didn't say "doctor Smith"]: "Is Kerry Smith an MD?"
SR: "She's a midwife."
Me [pissed]: "I have nothing against midwifery (except maybe that ridiculous word), but I just explained to you that I've been through a loss, a surgery, two IUIs and three IVFs, and I'm 40. I want to see a medical doctor!"
And... it turns out that there were tons of appointments available that day with another doctor. She gave me an appointment with a doctor I've seen and liked. So, basically, I felt like the receptionist was just trying to sneakily slot me in for my first OB appointment with a midwife without asking me. It felt underhanded and calculating, and I was so annoyed. If I didn't think highly of the doctors I'd seen there, I would want to switch practices. But after the call, while my BP was sky-high, my husband calmed me down by saying that it would be ridiculous to give up on doctors I like over a problem with the support staff. And I know he's right. But man, I picked up the phone with such optimism and joy and by the time I hung up I felt defeated and furious.

Afm: 1st beta 242! Now to wait until Wednesday to find out doubling time... ugh, the waiting continues. Infertility has not taught me patience. Infertility has taught me to hate waiting even more. I hope you girls never have to wait for another thing in life. We have done our waiting.

@cowboycorgi that is a great beta!! Usually brown blood means nothing and im glad the nurse was not concerned..
@colette18 all pregnancies are different as they can be slower to implant so poas is hard to judge when to do it..
Who else was supposed to have beta today?
BUT AFM yesterday i got a wave of nausea out of nowhere with steady backache and today had crazy heartburn..

My last pregnancy i poas 3dp5dt and got a very very faint + and at 3dp5dt this time it was a -
But Girls......this morning at 4 1/2 dp5dt i got a very very faint BFP that got a tad darker later today at 5dp5dt (i had an afternoon transfer)
Congrats everyone who had their transfers in the last few days! I haven't been on as much lately so I am out of touch on everyone's timing. Also congrats on those with awesome betas!
