I was given a baby book last time and hate it. I mean , it's nice but It is huge and most of the space is graphics and poems and room for baby photos that I'm never going to print and stick in there because I made Shutterfly photo books instead. If I had the motivation I'd find something about 25% of the size and transfer the notes I made, because I don't want to schlep that big thing around.
I know it's probably nothing. It's very light, and dark in color. They can see me tomorrow morning. I'm on bed rest until then.
(I'd have gone in early today, but I couldn't get someone to cover for me at work until 2pm. I know. I know. I thought had stopped, but then at 1pm, it started again. Midwife on call this morning thought I could go to work if I kept my feet up, and I did. Nurse this afternoon put me on bed rest.)
Also? 5 minutes into my bed rest. Already bored.
Honestly, there are a lot of reasons not to worry. I just stopped progesterone on Monday (after IVF) and withdrawal bleeds can happen. At 9 weeks, my doctor saw a little blood floating in there on ultrasound, and said it might work its way out. I'm still nauseated as hell.
Ultrasound at 8am tomorrow, EST. Just cross your fingers for me, ok?
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science
7 IUIs, 7 BFNs. 2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs. Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire. Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus! fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP! Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)
@KLake42 even though you know it's "normal" it's still so disconcerting to see. I think those are all good reasons to remember, but I know it's hard not to worry. Will be thinking of you tomorrow!

@Peepster my SIL went most of her pregnancy with her placenta covering her cervix. I was convinced she would wind up with a C section but toward the end of her pregnancy they said she was good to go and delivered her baby vaginally with no issues. I'm sure it was stressful going most of the pregnancy not knowing if her placenta would move or not. But then again we are all flying blind here to a certain extent. Pregnancy is a roller coaster, am I right??
@Peepster, my BFF was told, at her A/S that she had full placenta previa to plan on a c/s- don't even bother taking childbirth classes.
They did another u/s at 32 or 36 weeks (don't remember now, it was 8 years ago) and not only did her placenta fully move but she was told her daughter was actually going to be a son.
Has anyone else noticed that things move in slow-mo when pregnant? I swear things that used to take me 30 minutes to do before now takes me 2 hours. And time just...goes.
@trudytudy Yes, it is a roller coaster! And this pregnancy is already turning out to be more eventful than my first. Hoping it's all smooth sailing from here. Thank you for the reassurance and so glad everything turned out well for your SIL!
@BelhurstBride OMG, talk about eventful! Happy to hear your BFF's pregnancy turned out okay, but what a lot of curve balls to throw at her. Um, just a bit presumptuous of them to call the previa so permanent at the A/S, wasn't it? And then to find out the sex was different?? Don't do that to a pregnant woman! Lol!
Everything is fine!!! Heartbeats good, and I got to see them both swimming around. It's probably just that I went off progesterone early in the week. Thank you all for your support!

I was in a pool hall last night for an hour and a half. It was SMOKEY. It was a small, not well-ventilated place and the smoke was thick enough to see and make my eyes burn after about 5 minutes. I had initially thought second-hand smoke was not too big of a deal if it didn't happen often, but then after about an hour I started googling and found this: https://americanpregnancy.org/pregnancy-complications/second-hand-smoke-and-pregnancy/
I'm worried now...
I'm not exposed to second-hand smoke regularly expect for the random person walking down the street or whatever and don't plan to go to any smokey places again during my pregnancy, but should I worry about this hour and a half???
@caeilievalor Yes, second hand smoke is bad. But I wouldn't worry about that 90 minutes (really, what will worrying do?). Just try to avoid any smoky places from now on.
@caeilievalor I agree with @missblaze, but wanted to say thank you for posting this and sharing that link. I'm visiting the ILs in Germany next week and MIL smokes. I have had a hard time expressing to DH the frustration with secondhand smoke and also warning him about thirdhand smoke once LO arrives. This link helps - thank you!
@caeilievalor I also think that you're probably fine. If you had a job at a smoky bar and got pregnant, I would say that you should quit, but one night is not likely to do any harm.
Personally, I don't like the smell of smoke (especially now, with the nausea), and I'll use pregnancy as an excuse to refuse to be around it. But one night is not the same as regular exposure.
(I used to smoke, and LOVED it, and I know that if I had just one cigarette, I would be instantly addicted again. But I'm lucky that I hate the stale smell of other people's smoke-- that's what helped me stay quit for years now.)

@KLake42 I too used to be a smoker. For over tens years in fact. I started when I was 11!! Anyway, I'm really glad I quit and I'm sure you are too at this point.
