@hedgepig thats scary! I don't live around scorpions but I imagine they're really creepy.
@dilynne I'm sorry they're giving you the runaround. Hopefully they can figure something out.
  • @hedgepig I thought a spider on me was bad, a scorpion is terrifying, then again I don't think we have them in this region, so the unknown is even more horrifying.

@Dilynne ugh, so sorry you're dealing with this. I hope you can get some answers and not have to wait 4 days, will they really give you results on a Sunday?

  • @hedgepig So gross! Like @Avrilmai said, a spider is bad enough - I'm getting shivers just thinking about scorpions!

@Dilynne What the actual F??? How can they be so laissez-faire about that? I hate that you are in an area where it's not so easy to just go somewhere else :( Really hope that you can get some answers sooner than the weekend.

  • YES YES YES re: game of thrones. DH and I are doing a series run, and we're listening to the Binge Mode podcasts on The Ringer. Anyone else?
  • @Dilynne Hope you get some answers soon!

@Avrilmai @lulu1180 @doxiemoxie212 Yay GOT!  Thanks for the link :)  I'm a bigger fan of the books, but my impatience for the next book to come out got the best of me and I watched the "new material" on the last season or so.  I just need GRRM to finish the series already!

  • @doxiemoxie212 we talked about rewatching the series before the new episodes start. I don't know if we will be able to do it at this point. DH wants to wait and watch the entire series once it is completed. I don't want to wait that long. So I may be watching it on my own. Is the podcast good? I love a good podcast.

  • @Dilynne Oh no. I'm so sorry that you are in so much pain. Really, WTAF, 4 days?? I certainly hope that they will be able to do something for you before then. Thinking of you. <3

@hedgepig Fuck scorpions. Seriously, fuck them.

@icecubeinthedesert Yay for a new office! Enjoy it!
  • @lulu1180 That trailer gave me the chills! I can't wait to watch!

We cancelled our HBO when we moved, but I'm thinking about doing an HBO subscription through Hulu or Amazon. Has anyone else done this?
  • @kbamomma33 DH and I have a separate subscription to HBO Now so it's not tied to another service and I believe it's the same price no matter which way you go.

  • @Avrilmai the binge mode podcast is great but it's intense - it's a podcast per episode where they go in depth on the themes, and they compare it with the book, etc. You could probably do it instead of rewatching the series, but I'm enjoying doing both.
  • @kbamomma33 do you mean HBO Go or HBO Now? I actually just use my mom's HBO account and we watch it through TiVo or Xbox, but I think you can also just watch it on HBO's website.
  • @lulu1180 Thanks. :) I just looked it up and it seems like it's 14.99/mo wherever. Does that sound right? I'm trying to add it through my Amazon prime channels, but I think I have to be on a computer to add it.

@doxiemoxie212 I think hbo now since it's not through a cable provider and we just have internet tv right now.
  • @kbamomma33 That sounds about right!

  • @kbamomma33 if you know anyone with HBO and want to split the costs, do that and just watch it through whatever you use to watch internet TV (computer, roku, xbox, etc). Even if you pay full price it's still good - tons of movies. The only downside is that shows like John Oliver aren't up until the next day, but shows like GoT are up the same time they would be otherwise.
  • @kbamomma33 Not a GoT fan, but we use my BFF from college's mom's HBOGO and in exchange we shared our Hulu account info with my friend and her H. It is cheap and works out pretty well most of the time and we occasionally rip on each other for watching stuff we think is embarrassing.  :p
  • @Avrilmai @lulu1180 ahhhhh I can't wait!!! I've been thinking about rewatching last season but I don't know if I'll have time. Maybe just the last few episodes.

@Dilynne I'm so sorry you're still in pain! I hope they're able to do something soon!

@Dilynne I'm so glad that you found someone who would listen. I hope you take the other place to small claims court for the cost of the visit for malpractice once you have a DX (and I hope it's a minor, easily fixable thing). A-holes.

  • @kiki75 So this one time, my dad went to the hospital I was at yesterday after he got hit by a train (he works in a train yard, way less dramatic than it sounds). They told him he was fine and to sleep it off. We took him to a different hospital the next day and he had two dislocated shoulders, a broken knee cap and a concussion. Dad tried to take them to court but was told he "went at his own risk" and there was nothing we could do. Why did I go back to that hospital? Obviously I was delirious.

  • @Dilynne - Even people who work for the RR take work injuries seriously! It's an inherently dangerous job. Did he go back to work right after the injury?  Also, you should stay away from that hospital!!

  • @Dilynne It's so good you're at a better hospital, sorry you got blown off before. Sometimes hospital quality can vary widely. Some hospitals don't hire Emergency Medicine Trained doctors for their ERs (they're more expensive) and use general practitioners to staff their ERs (and some of them can be great if they've been doing ER work awhile, and some terrible just because they don't have the trauma/acute care training that an EM trained doctor has.)

I hope they find some answers for you!

@Dilynne Thinking of you and hoping your pain is manageable and the issue has been identified!

I just want to thank all the ladies that talked about menstrual cups (like 4 months ago). Sorry I can't even remember who it was! This is Month 3 using mine and I think it has changed my life! Easiest AF ever! Anyone on the fence just do it. The first 2 months was a little learning curve but it's so worth it!
