I don't have any pics to post right now, but I've been using the subscription service from Le Tote for maternity clothes for work and love it so far! I'll post outfit pics later - excited for this thread!
I found this dress in a bag of brand new dresses and skirts that were too big for me that I meant to have tailored a loooong time ago. I'm so glad now that I didn't so I can wear it for a few weeks, and it hides the bump pretty well. Sorry for the work bathroom picture!
I do not know if this goes here or not but WHY are materity shorts so hideous??!! I suppose I will be in dresses all summer because it is already in the 90s with 10,000% humidity here!
I have been living in maternity shorts and flowy tanktops but I have a "formal" for my direct sales company next week and wasn't sure how big id be..I bought this at like 10 weeks (photo is from then) and I'm excited to wear it. Our formal is more so a dress up but be comfortable so people wear things from tshirts and skirts to ball gowns.
Have you all seen the Wren & Ivory dresses? They are all so cute and reasonably priced! They remind me a bit of Pink Blush but are not quite as expensive.
@Tourmalily I'm not in maternity yet either, I think I need one more month but a lot of my dresses and skirts are working for me still so I'll take it! I'm probably in between normal pants and maternity right now. I guess that's what belly bands are for
@DuchessOfCambridge@tourmalily I find that most of what I've worn in my pregnancies (aside from pants, and I'm boycotting pants so far) is not maternity clothes. And if it is maternity clothes I make sure it's easily wearable after baby comes.
also I've always wanted to try stitch fix, but it seems overwhelming and I'm not 100% sure how it works.
@ugoglencoco no more pants. I've found that stitch fix is not for me, I don't love what they send me and it's always a higher price point than I'm comfortable paying. I'm used to buying stuff at j crew factory and loft either on sale or clearance so I had a bit of sticker shock with stitch fix. I think I'm just too good at shopping already/am picky. That being said, I have a bunch of friends who love it, one of them used the maternity stitch fix and loved that too.
How it works: you register and fill out a profile online, they'll ask you questions about your sizing and show you clothing ensembles to choose from to get your taste. Then you schedule a box for a specific date, it's $20 and has five pieces in it. When you get the box you have 3 days to try on the stuff and decide what you want to keep and what you want to send back. If you keep the whole box, you get a discount off your order so many people who like four things will just keep the fifth. You only pay for the stuff you keep and can send the whole box back. If you want to try it out I can give you my referral code and I think that gets you your first box free.
@DuchessOfCambridge I think it's too scary for me haha! I'm mostly afraid I will never like the stuff and I will be spending $20 over and over just to send it all back. I guess I just don't trust someone else to know what I like and what will look good on my body.
I got a pair of maternity shorts that are side panel with hidden stretch in the waistband. They still have a button and are perfect for that in-between stage when you aren't quite ready for the full panel. I'm not sure how they will work as I get bigger but for now, they are perfect.
@DuchessOfCambridge Ha, I haven't fit into any of my pre pregnancy pants for two months now. And at this point I'm down to only 5 or 6 pre pregnancy tops. I've only gained about 10 pounds but it's all in my boobs and my belly. But most of my dresses and skirts still fit! This is one I bought on modcloth about two years ago for a trip to Newport. It looks more flattering as a maternity dress!

So I am in australia and its winter her which helps a bit. As does my style which is a mori stregga alternative gypsy kind of style. And I focus on multi seasonal slow fashion pieces they layer more than trend fashion .i had to buy/make new basics tops for winter this year anyway replacing tired old ones and I had to go up a size or stick to very stretchy jersey to fit my bust I also got a few pieces that I can build style over these basics which are going to fit the whole pregnancy after and also later returning to prepregnancy size. Like drape jackets and wrap skies or one size romper. The rest is scarves head bands tights or yoga pants and harem pants which I wear anyway . So I don't think I'll need too many maternity pieces maybe a good pair of jeans . And later I'll get some nursing tops I like . I have a wedding in September so will be making a maternity dress to wear to that and my FIL 70th in october but hopefully the rest I can manage with normal clothes
This is today's . One of my new tops has a cross over drape detail in the front that just drapes at the moment but has heaps of room to accommodate a belly even before stretching which it will as its a soft fine jersey knit . Soft medium knit infinity scarf . And the jacket it a light weight cardigan knit in a Large. I would of bought it in a large even if I wasn't growing as I like the drape and intend to wear it in a layered effect . The style accommodates dropped shoulder seams so the bigger size is fine and will serve multiple winters and crossover seasons Skirt is a one size fits most wrap around that tie fastens in a hand batik thick cotton . Also new but because I like wearing this style skirt . As it gets colder I have the option of wearing tights under it for warmth or comfort without getting stuck in the Activewear mum look
I'll make a dress inspired by this to wear to the wedding in September and 70th celebration in October none of the same people will be at either event so I can get away with only having one special occasion piece . I'll be making it in a super soft floaty bamboo sateen or I'll invest in silk depending on how I feel about such expense for something I won't get long term use from Events will be at 7 and 8 months almost on the dot since one is on the 9th the other on the 7th or 8th to be confirmed and we are due 8th Nov so unfortunately I'll need a maternity dress to wear
Today it's cold enough I'm back in a sweater. Soft grey chevron knit sweater from the Loft, ponte knit skinny pants from Lands End, black knee-high leather equestrian boots from J Crew, and sea glass jewelry my husband made me. I'll try to post a pic later.
This was yesterday's outfit, a wonderful wrap from Banana Republic, statement bib-style necklace (sorry you can't see it), and Stubbs & Wooten velvet smoking slippers.
I finally chose a maternity wedding dress, which is good cause our wedding is in one week! I'm super tiny and usually need a 2 in European sizes, but the 4 is perfect. Definitely want to get it in floral also to wear as a wedding guest this summer. I think it looks dressier on me than on the model. BFs eyes got big and he went "wow".
You ladies are so stylish. Nobody wants to see my denim capri pants and t-shirt Edited to add I figured out how to do a spoiler. Yay me! I do believe this is in my near future:
@DuchessOfCambridge- I have a bit of a collection going. But all of them are from consignment stores or eBay. When the bargain is right, they are so definitely worth it!
Luckily I don't have think about clothes 99% of the time.... OOTD...and nearly every other day of the week, lol.I busted out the maternity uniform pants but am still rocking the normal top because the maternity one is so incredibly unflattering.
As for weekends... I have 2 pairs of shorts and a couple maternity tees for now...
Just a warning that I may saturate this board in the coming weeks due to a huge shopping spree I went on today. I start my new job a week from Monday and needed clothes. My previous job was working remotely from home so I lived in sweats and when I was pregnant with DS2, we could wear jeans to work. My new job is business casual so shopping had to get done. Thank goodness we do not have tax on clothing here. That makes a huge difference with large clothing purchases.
