@mageemay Hooray! Fingers crossed for more good news. We are here for you either way.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@sweetmelissa4 I was told my amnio results would be back 7-10 days from the procedure. I had it done on Thursday, so I would think sometime between tomorrow and Tuesday. I'm anxiously awaiting the results.
You ladies are THE MOST SUPPORTIVE group. I will definitely be keeping you all in the loop. I have felt every bit of love you've all sent to me and my sweet baby Sam.
Finally- after waiting for what feels like FOREVER- I have an update! I received a call from my high risk doctor late yesterday afternoon telling me that the amnio came back perfectly normal! He said that they very rarely get false positive blood tests for T18 (though the internet tells me they are much more common than he let on). The blood tests are accurate at detecting issues, but they cannot decipher if the issue is with the baby, mom, or placenta. With this disorder, they can rule me out because I obviously don't have T18. The amnio ruled Sam out, so he is thinking the issue could be with my placenta. Even though that sounds scary, it really means nothing bad for baby Sam. I may have to have more ultrasounds near the end to make sure the placental issue isn't impacting his growth, but that should be the extent of this issue. We'll also keep checking on the 3 issues they found at my 16 week appointment, but truly none of those are all that terrifying compared to the alternative. All of the issues have a strong chance of resolving themselves before birth, but even if they don't- none are impossible to handle. Thanks again for being so kind and supportive during the absolute craziest and most stressful time of my life. Sending SO much love to each of you today!
