Love reading all your posts over the weekend! So excited for you all.

Did you all call several pharmacies to compare prices of your meds? It took up a considerable amount of time but my final bill went from $7K to $4K so I'd say calling around was worth it.

I'm super nervous about the need for having a full bladder. Is that for the retrieval or transfer? I have IBS so I get nervous before procedures and have to go #2. Sorry for the TMI but it is what it is. As soon as you tell me I can't go, I get nervous and my bowels overreact. Eff anxiety!

The nurses did say ice before and even gave us a ice/warm thing at medication education, I was a little too "get this over with now". I put it in the freezer this morning in prep for tonight. I'm a bit too much of a control freak for someone else to do the injections, much easier for me to do it to myself.

@JaeJayStark my RE office offers a package if you go through them, price depends on level of stimulation needed (i.e. How many menopur vials) mine was medium stimulation (2 vials) for $4100. It seemed like a decent price & very little hassle, they ordered it and all we had to do was schedule the delivery.

You have to have a full bladder for retrieval?! I have to pee all the time when I'm nervous this is going to be awful.

@JaeJayStark So excited for you!!! What pharmacy did you end up using? My dr had me apply to First Steps / Designrx and Compassionate Care programs. So far I've only heard back from Designrx and didn't qualify for a program but offered up to 30% off.

Thanks- I have been feeling dizzy and nauseous the past couple days. Hormones and I don't agree.
Our meds were about $3000 through ohsu but I wasn't on the highest dosages. I have heard of people calling around, might be worth it.
I hope you don't have to have a full bladder, I pee a lot.

@JaeJayStark & @bionerdsteph full bladder is for the transfer! You empty your bladder 1 hour before & immediately drink 24oz of liquid. I've had to do it enough for various procedures & transfers, it isn't too bad.

@JaeJayStark I bought on etsy IVF milestone cards & documented the entire first round. I'm glad I did it once but it was time consuming & I was less motivated to do it with #2 & 3.

I didn't know that we can shop around for meds, that is so great. As we're paying out of pocket and I do like to get enough bang for my buck, it would be amazing to save coins where ever we can.

I will have a toooooon of questions for my RE next month and if he asks or states that I'm so prepared, I will tell him he can thank the amazing ladies on The Bump

i would def shop around For the cheapest price. Wouldn't hurt to ask your clinic to see if anyone is donating meds due to cancelled cycles.

Nurse called earlier this afternoon. She said everything looks good. Estrogen is at 157 and multiple follicles in both ovaries. Plan is to continue gonal f 375 units and low dose hcg 20 units for two days and another round of ultrasound and bloodwork.

I called CVS - which I have 50% coverage but often times it was cheaper out of pocket, Win Fertility, and Freedom Fertility.

WIN gives you a deal based on a package so you will see just an "X" in their column.

@Holls214 Just saw that you have 26 follies!! Woot. I just looked. It was just noted "multiple" 5-10 per ovary on the online portal. The right said 3 mm. Thinking they were able to measure 1 follie? Wish they explained it. Guess I'll have to take their word that everything "looks good." Would think they would increase my meds if I were lagging behind.

Yeah I don't know if the estradiol needs to be a specific number or just within a range. I know they like to see it rise but not too fast. Sometimes the cetrotide/ganirelix causes a dip, which scared me round #2 but it went back up. The nurse told me if it gets over 3,000 you're more likely prone to OHSS so they monitor that too.

@SP128 was it your first us today? Ask them to explain it more to you. Mine go through and measure every one that they see and then count them out for me. I think the first us they only measured a couple though.
That makes sense for the ranges it's all so confusing. My hormone brain fog is bad.

@JaeJayStark Thanks for showing me! A long time ago I contacted WinFertility, but never followed thru since my doctors office always went thru Avella and didn't need a ton of meds for IUI's. I will definitely re-visit them now seeing your luck! Guess I was always on edge because I always needed meds within 1-2 days and was afraid it would take to long to deal with it. Thanks again for the info!!

@Holls214 Yes, it was my first us. I asked what she was looking for and she told me she was looking at the ovaries and my lining. She said my lining was pretty thin. I asked if it is because I just had my period and she said probably.
The portal did give measurement of my uterus and other stuff. Don't remember what it was now.

Maybe when the follies are a little bigger they will measure? There was only one follie measurement on my portal.

@JaeJayStark WIN was on the website of the Fertility Clinic we chose. We went with IvfMD in Florida so that means they are associated with them(yaay)...
I'm jotting down questions for every area of procedure.

SP128 dont worry today was your baseline so they're not really looking to even have follicles to measure. My E2 was at 44 when I first started this round so yours sounds about right. Your Estrogen goes up as the cycle continues and you hope each follie has estrogen and is producing good eggs. My acupuncturist was the one that said every 200 is usually one mature follie so I try and keep that in mind too. I'm actually concerned that my E2 dropped a bit today but they said that everything still looks good for ER tomorrow. Some places dont give you an US until day 5 and just go by the blood work as your follies are just getting started. And as Aera11 mentioned above you dont want it to get too high as that could be OHSS, always something to worry about but you shouldn't just yet

I've just used Freedom Fertility Pharmacy as they're the specialty pharmacy contracted with my insurance (yay for coverage). They're pretty speedy. And a local specialty pharmacy for the off-label Omnitrope and Androgel (OOP).

Hi Ladies,
Hoping I can join you. I have been a voyeur for a while and then had to wait to become an "official" member before I could post. On June 15th it will be 11 years that my husband and I have been TTC. This is our first time trying IVF and have made the choice that it will be our only time. We are old farts so time is not on our side. I ended 12 days of BC yesterday and have my baseline US and blood work on Friday. We are on a short protocol, if everything goes as planned they think we will do the ER on 6.28 or 6.29. We live in GA and used a specific Walgreens, apparently they are the only Walgreens in GA that sell IVF Meds. I shopped around and they were the least expensive also. I am deathly afraid of injections so I think this is ironic that we are going through this process LOL, my husband on the other hand can't wait to "stab" me! Good luck everyone.

hi ladies! Its been a day I swear!.... ER days should just be easy and relaxing and this was anything but!!
(OH had a family emergency which took him away and made me late for ER where I was back to possibly using a frozen sample instead of fresh...so you can imagine all the extra stress that went along with already being anxious for today)

Took them a while to find my vein as usual. My RE was being understandable on my tardiness but also mentioned she doesn't want me to ovulate so you should've seen how fast I got changed and ready to go!!
After all was said at done I did walk away with 4 eggs, I didn't cry do thats already better then last ER

However it was 1 from the left and 3 from the right. Meaning the big left one was empty

and then the 2 smaller ones on the right made it...just praying they are mature enough and fertilize. I feel like if they dont fertilize thats when they determine they're not mature. I hear others after ER know right away how many eggs and then how may are mature and so on. Maybe cause I get so few they can tell right away? Who knows. Glad its done! Just praying they all fertilize and make it through!!

Side note I asked my RE about my right vs left and she said right is right and left is left...so who knows, just glad I'm done and no shots tonight!!

jcschc welcome and sorry you find yourself here, really hoping this will be a magical cycle for you! You're not the only one who doesn't like injections, really who does! You'll find out how strong you are through this process for sure! Old farts huh? That would make you??? Since you said it is why I'm asking!! For me I say you're really only as old as your AMH says you are

jcschc see you just called me old - and i'm not

I am kidding I say it all the time as my RE likes to remind me that the reason I'm really having all this drama of TTC is because of my age, the low amh just confirms that my time clock is just about to explode!! My AFC in the beginning at the young old age of 39 was like 14, 8 on the right and 6 on the left i beleive and I have to say by my first IVF cycle i never had that many so you never know whats in store each month. Lets hope that you can produce some strong follies! I remind myself and you it only takes one AND getting pregnant really is such an amazing miracle!! So many dont realize how lucky they are AND I will go to say through all of this unless there is major sperm issues I can't understand why an IUI doesn't work for everyone! They're literally placing the sperm right on top of the egg, how the magic doesn't happen all the time is crazy!! Last thing you will find many success stories on here where their first IVF cycle gave them success - good luck!
