R/R: omg guys. Can I tell a TMI story? So I went to bed last night with a tampon and Thinx undies on because I knew Day 2 of my period was coming and things were gonna get bloody. Woke up 7 hours later to that sort of "gush" feeling so I run to the bathroom. But here's the thing, the Thinx undies I was wearing run big. I don't know what happened, but next thing I know there's blood eevveerryywwhheerree. Like, the floor, the toilet, the bathroom rug, up the walls, all over the scale, down my calves (but not my thighs??) and my feet. And our bathroom tile is so terrible and stains so easily I think it now permanently looks like I murdered someone in there. DH heard me basically panic screaming and comes in to see what's going on and was just like omg omg omg are you dying? I sprayed the whole bathroom down with bleach for a good soak, but let me tell you: what a fun experience to have with vertigo. In other news, if you'd like to purchase a pair of Thinx undies, order down a size.

For a while listening to Harry Potter books on tape worked. Now DH is addicted to that but I can't fall asleep with it, so I have to wait for DH to fall asleep to turn it off. Then I sing songs in my head that can't get stuck in them (row row row your boat, silent night, etc) while picturing clouds gliding past me overhead. It's a process. One of DHs favorite stories of me is that I told him early in our relationship that I tried counting sheep to go to sleep, but eventually the sheep would just go too quickly and start stampeding the fence.
R/R: Last fall a friend gave H a chicken because all his other chickens were killed by a fox, now H`s friend wants the chicken back after we took care of it all winter. It`s not that we don`t want to give her back its just we`re worried she`ll get kill being an only chicken at his place.

@garnetandgoldgrace Trust the wondfo. I once did both wondfos and CBAD in a cycle and the CBAD never went to "peak". If I hadn't been using both, I would have missed my surge. After that I stopped buying CBADs.
@doxiemoxie212 What a period disaster! Especially to have that happen first thing in the morning Actually, I bled through my Thinx for the first time ever yesterday.... BUT, this is the heaviest period I've ever had and all of my Thinx are for light or medium flow days, so I guess it's to be expected.

My favorite "quirky" flavor is still Americana Huckleberry, but my favorite new one I tried yesterday was actually a black cherry one from Natural Apothecary. I also give creativity points to the zombie-themed company "Asylum" that had people wandering around in undead makeup to promote their brand. Unfortunately it was insanely hot so I didn't feel great for the rest of the day after being out in the sun consuming all that sugar, even though we took frequent shade/water breaks. But it was still worth it.
CS/Q: Nope, getting close to FW! I'm hoping things will go better this month than last time since DH hasn't had to work as much and is considerably less tired. *fingers crossed*
GTKY: I either count backwards or listen to a non-fiction history audiobook I've listened to before. @garnetandgoldgrace No harm HIO just in case later temps make it clear the wondfos are right. What @doxiemoxie212 said could also be true--I think that's the case for me judging by timing of temp rises (unless my/your body takes longer than average to react to the heat of the progesterone).
@garnetandgoldgrace I would just keep doing what you are doing for now. Holy crap you've been getting busy! Just remember you don't O until 12-36 hrs (I think) after positive OPK and the temp doesn't rise until the day after.

@garnetandgoldgrace I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables... raspberries, blueberries, pomegranate juice and spinach several servings each day plus whatever else... fair amount of healthy fats, like avocado and olive oil daily. I don't eat much red meat and I eat fish at least once a week... I never eat fast food, eat organic with no artificial flavors or colors... don't eat much processed food... I drink as much water as I can stand and rarely have caffeine other than green tea. I do still drink my wine but avoid over doing it... I was taking macaharmony (maca root supplement) along with my PNV but stopped after my last cycle was 5 days longer than usual... so this month I've kind of decided to keep it simple... stick with healthy diet, exercise and lots of sex.

CS/Q: I've been charting my cycles (temps & CM) Since January. *TW I did to help get pregnant with DS also. *end TW This past month FF wasn't able to pinpoint my O date and I originally worried I was having a crazy long cycle but AF came on schedule. I've woken up super hot this month and was really stressed around FW (had trouble sleeping). Has anyone else had trouble with tracking before? Do you think it was just a weird month? Any tips?

@JNCPro3130 that looks like an anovulatory cycle to me - the pros of using OPKs is that in this situation you're given another data point to look at. In this case, I think either your body produced fertile CM but you didn't ovulate (your temps indicate you did not), OR you did ovulate, but there's user error with the temperatures (time changes? or room temperature issues and mouth breathing?). OPKs could help indicate which is true. This might be a good question for the chart stalk thread, though - I certainly do not have the most experience with charting of the ladies on these boards.
@Stargazer1lily - Why does this friend think the chicken will be safe now? @garnetandgoldgrace - I would trust the wondfos based on my previous experience. Maybe the sensitivity on the CB is lower (aka higher threshold to be positive). Just like you mark the most fertile CM for the day, I would mark the OPK as positive on FF. My vagina cringed when I saw your chart. @hedgepig - I'm glad you got to *play* D&D! I always take forever developing characters! Just as an FYI, temps can fluctuate a lot during AF. I don't usually start temping until CD8-ish. @purplg8r - I take A LOT of melatonin. Sorry you have so much trouble sleeping; I don't know how you have the energy to run! @babycakesday - I'm impressed that YH got up with your DS. @JNCPro3130 - I would override to mark CD14 as O. All the other evidence points to it. The reason you aren't getting CHs is because you missed temping on the 3rd day after O. FF wants those 3 consecutive days to confirm O. I'm so jealous of your perfect 27 day cycle. Is cycle envy a thing? @onlywantone - Are you and/or YH starting a new job in Portland soon? Month 3 with 5 cycles? How short are your cycles?

CS/Q: I apologize for being a noob, but I do have a couple of questions. I don't have TCOYF handy right this second, but I saw where pebbledam doesn't usually temp once AF arrives until day 8. Is that standard? Do some of you temp during AF? Is there a benefit to doing so or not doing so? Also, how does a fluctuating schedule affect it? I've got 7-12 weeks of working 4 10s (11AM - 10PM), but after that (and possibly even a little bit before that), my schedule could start anywhere from 7AM to 1PM. Obviously moving later wouldn't be a problem, because I could just keep my alarm set where it is now, but moving earlier would be a significant change.

I do try to use a Bath and Body Works chamomile concoction and guided relaxation-type meditation, but I am bad about... forgetting about them when I can't sleep... usually because I'm irritated...
@poandhendrix - From my understanding, the people who temp during AF is just to stay in the routine of it. Also, those that temp vaginally don't temp during AF for obvious reasons. But, speaking of temping vaginally it is supposed to be more accurate, which could be helful while you're working different shifts. As someone who works nights, I will say that temping is challenging. Everyone is different regarding what affects their temps and by how much. The most important factor for me is that I actually temp after my longest sleep. If I only sleep for 2 hours and temp it's going to super unpredictable. It will get easier with experience. I rely heavily on CM and OPKs to help clue me in on FW since my temps can be hard to track.
ETA- Most people would recommend temping at the same time if at all possible. Maybe try setting your BBT alarm at 0600 (or whatever time you would have to wake up to be at work by 0700) for everyday and going back to sleep after temping if you work later that day?

@poandhendrix We did name the chicken "hoppy" because she had a broken leg when the friend gave her to us the lone survivor of the fox massacre. Now she has a hop when she runs.

@poandhendrix Hi! I'm just jumping in to say it's my understanding that the consistent time is more important for each cycle. It does not necessarily have to be the same always. So if you have 7-12 weeks of your current schedule I wouldn't worry about the 530am alarm this month

GTKY: Stolen from TWW- If you can't get to sleep at night, what do you do to help yourself fall asleep? I can't take meds (even Benadryl) because for whatever reason they last about 4 days on me. For a while listening to Harry Potter books on tape worked. Now DH is addicted to that but I can't fall asleep with it, so I have to wait for DH to fall asleep to turn it off. Then I sing songs in my head that can't get stuck in them (row row row your boat, silent night, etc) while picturing clouds gliding past me overhead. It's a process. One of DHs favorite stories of me is that I told him early in our relationship that I tried counting sheep to go to sleep, but eventually the sheep would just go too quickly and start stampeding the fence.

@garnetandgoldgrace Trust the wondfo. I once did both wondfos and CBAD in a cycle and the CBAD never went to "peak". If I hadn't been using both, I would have missed my surge. After that I stopped buying CBADs.

R/R: We had a fun time yesterday at the Soda Festival! My favorite "quirky" flavor is still Americana Huckleberry, but my favorite new one I tried yesterday was actually a black cherry one from Natural Apothecary. I also give creativity points to the zombie-themed company "Asylum" that had people wandering around in undead makeup to promote their brand. Unfortunately it was insanely hot so I didn't feel great for the rest of the day after being out in the sun consuming all that sugar, even though we took frequent shade/water breaks. But it was still worth it.
CS/Q: Nope, getting close to FW! I'm hoping things will go better this month than last time since DH hasn't had to work as much and is considerably less tired. *fingers crossed*
GTKY: I either count backwards or listen to a non-fiction history audiobook I've listened to before. Some of them have really soothing narrators so I can listen for a bit and be distracted from my "OMG, I can't sleep" feelings (ever since I was little I've gotten panicked about not being able to sleep really easily for some reason), then be lulled into sweet slumber...

CS/Q: I've been charting my cycles (temps & CM) Since January. *TW I did to help get pregnant with DS also. *end TW This past month FF wasn't able to pinpoint my O date and I originally worried I was having a crazy long cycle but AF came on schedule. I've woken up super hot this month and was really stressed around FW (had trouble sleeping). Has anyone else had trouble with tracking before? Do you think it was just a weird month? Any tips?

@garnetandgoldgrace - I would trust the wondfos based on my previous experience. Maybe the sensitivity on the CB is lower (aka higher threshold to be positive). Just like you mark the most fertile CM for the day, I would mark the OPK as positive on FF. My vagina cringed when I saw your chart.
@hedgepig - I'm glad you got to *play* D&D! I always take forever developing characters! Just as an FYI, temps can fluctuate a lot during AF. I don't usually start temping until CD8-ish.
@purplg8r - I take A LOT of melatonin. Sorry you have so much trouble sleeping; I don't know how you have the energy to run!
@babycakesday - I'm impressed that YH got up with your DS.
@JNCPro3130 - I would override to mark CD14 as O. All the other evidence points to it. The reason you aren't getting CHs is because you missed temping on the 3rd day after O. FF wants those 3 consecutive days to confirm O. I'm so jealous of your perfect 27 day cycle. Is cycle envy a thing?
@onlywantone - Are you and/or YH starting a new job in Portland soon? Month 3 with 5 cycles? How short are your cycles?

@onlywantone Yay, house hunting! I love doing that - although I'm usually looking for rentals, haha - and from what I hear Portland is amazing! My brother and his GF moved out there this past winter (they wound up driving through that massive snowstorm that hit ... basically everywhere between Alabama and Oregon) and they love it!

CS/Q: I apologize for being a noob, but I do have a couple of questions. I don't have TCOYF handy right this second, but I saw where pebbledam doesn't usually temp once AF arrives until day 8. Is that standard? Do some of you temp during AF? Is there a benefit to doing so or not doing so? Also, how does a fluctuating schedule affect it? I've got 7-12 weeks of working 4 10s (11AM - 10PM), but after that (and possibly even a little bit before that), my schedule could start anywhere from 7AM to 1PM. Obviously moving later wouldn't be a problem, because I could just keep my alarm set where it is now, but moving earlier would be a significant change.

I do try to use a Bath and Body Works chamomile concoction and guided relaxation-type meditation, but I am bad about... forgetting about them when I can't sleep... usually because I'm irritated...
ETA- Most people would recommend temping at the same time if at all possible. Maybe try setting your BBT alarm at 0600 (or whatever time you would have to wake up to be at work by 0700) for everyday and going back to sleep after temping if you work later that day?
