@momma6angels11 Once things finally get started for me I'll be doing 3 shots of Gonal-F and Femara daily then Ovidrel trigger and Crinone daily until told otherwise. My RE is doing what he calls a natural cycle with me which is basically an IUI with a transfer instead of insemination.
AF finally showed up! Had our baseline ultrasound yesterday and while he was looking for my uterus (it like to hide for some reason) he went by my right ovary, and we found a 3.5cm cyst I'm on the BC for 2 weeks hoping it will bring the cyst down in time to still try and do a June transfer. If I do get to make it in June it will be super late which my work will hate, but oh well, what can you do?

@thucks did your RE suggest the aspirin or did you decide to do that? I've read it can be helpful but my RE never mentioned it and I was wondering if it's OK to just add or to ask her about it. It's so interesting to read about all the protocols! It can be such a pain in the butt (pun intended ) to go through this process!

@kaseycoco for my ivf and this fet i was told to use aspirin as the bcp and estradiol can cause blood clots.. im sure you can add it on your own but i would mention it to re cause it is a blood thinner and im not sure what other meds you might be on..
Hi everyone, got back from Paris last night and now on the train in to NYC for my lining-check appointment. Catching up on everyone's progress here. I'm tired, but exhilarated from such a wonderful time in Amsterdam, which was lovely, and Paris, which may be my all-time favorite city. Only glitch was on Sunday I had a miscommunication with a French waitress... I ordered a gluten-free pizza (I have Celiac) and either she misunderstood me, or failed to communicate it to the cook, but I think the pizza must have been gluten-full. A few hours later I vomitted... it was horrible. I am sure my body did not absorb the Estradiol or Letrozole which I had taken a couple hours earlier. I emailed my doc to see if I should take more the next day to compensate, and he said to stay on the same schedule.
I'm very interested to see if/how much my lining has thickened since I've been away. I know that my midsection has certainly thickened from all the gluten-free French pastries and other goodies I ate on vacation! I'm afraid to get on the scale. But we did do a ton of walking, so maybe it won't be that bad. But i look forward to doing some running and weight-lifting between now and transfer day, which I still hope is next week! It's exciting to think that a week from now I may be PUPO!
This is a fully medicated cycle for me (estradiol and letrozole, and I think I start the Crinone suppositories soon), but I am curious for those doing a natural-cycle FET: if you have sex and the egg you ovulate fertilizes, AND the embryo you transfer in sticks, isn't it technically possible you could transfer one and have twins -- one from the embryo that was transferred, and one natural? That would be amazing.
@kaseycoco My Aspirin is RE recommended. It's used as a blood thinner to help with blood circulation to the emby. I have been on aspirin for 15yrs now for other blood flow reasons so it wasn't any change in my normal routine to take it. Since it's a norm for me he has added an extra blood thinner after transfer (Lovenox) . Sounds like most people on these boards are on aspirin. But I'd defiantly mention it to the nurse or RE just to be safe.
@brooklyngirl18 GL with your transfer today. How exciting!!!

@brooklyngirl18 Thank you for getting back to me... I have heard about Lupron giving major headaches, but I can't say I'm really noticing any side effects... But maybe that's because I only had to take one injection. That was almost 3 weeks ago. I feel like I am constantly hungry though and battling the scale... Maybe that is a side effect? Or I just really like food, that could also be it. Lol. I'm glad you liked my chant haha. We have to psych ourselves up somehow don't we? I'm so happy that everything is looking good for you! I'll be thinking of you today! Oh and I think you are right about finding the right spot for the PIO injection. Again, when I got the Lupron injection at my clinic, it was so painless and I remember thinking well that felt a bit of a different spot than where DH was putting the PIO. Maybe we weren't doing the right spot? Haha.
AFM, I have my baseline US and blood work coming up on Wednesday, along with the endometrial scratch. My protocol is baby aspirin and prenatal each day... I also take acidophilus because I am very prone to yeast and BV infections... Although I have to say, since my surgery, which has improved my overall digestive health, I have not had any infections (KNOCK ON EFFING WOOD!). So I am hoping that endo in my digestive tract was the root of all vaginal evil. After my baseline on Wednesday, I should start 4 mg of Estradiol each day (2 pills AM and 2 PM). A week later (and after another US and blood monitoring appt) my Estradiol should be upped to 6 mg each day (3 pills AM and 3 PM). Then a little less than a week later I'll have another monitoring appt and will continue the Estradiol and begin PIO. This is the same protocol I did in October with my first FET, except this time we added the Lupron injection I had and the endometrial scratch.
How do you ladies feel about the Crinone? I took Endometrin for my fresh transfer last summer and HATED it. Having to lay down to do it 3 times a day was such a pain... and I had to lay for like 30 min after each time because I feared it was coming right out of me. I'm not a fan of needles, but the PIO was much easier and only once a day. Plus it was much less expensive than the Endometrin. I still have two whole unused boxes of the Endometrin because I was running out of it and had to order more right before I found out I was having a CP. I wish I knew someone I could just give it to because I know how expensive it is. My friend gifted me the first box that I used because she never used it and ended up switching to PIO. So what's the story with the patches? I haven't heard of any types of patches?
Nov. 2016: Hospitalized for small bowel obstruction
Mar. 2017: Diagnostic Laparoscopy = Twist found in intestine - part of small intestine, part of colon, and appendix removed, bowel resection - caused by Endometriosis
May 2017: 3.75 Lupron Depot
June 2017: FET postponed due to complex cysts in breasts
June 2017: Endometrial scratch
Jul. 2017: Baby aspirin, Estradiol, PIO, FET 4AA (lost 1 4AA in thaw) = CP
@joneser1281 I don't know anything about Crinone sorry. I use the PIO. I do however use the patches for Estrogen. I use Estradiol and change them every other day. I like it so much better than the pill. Although yesterday I put them in a bad place cause my pants rub there so today I had to wear a dress lol.

@joneser1281 I use Crinone and I don't mind it. It's once a day, and I don't have to lay down afterwards. I do wear a liner everyday because of discharge from it, but that's about it. The only real problem is it makes things in there really dry so the transfer was very uncomfortable, but other than that no big deal for me

@brooklyngirl18 I hope your transfer went well today! Sending sticky vibes your way. @momma6angels11 and @thucks thanks, I will ask my RE about adding aspirin. It might be too late to do now, but worth asking. @Stairbear I've thought about that since I'm doing a natural cycle there's a slim chance of getting twins if both were to implant. That would be just my luck that after nearly two years of nothing sticking that two decide to stick in one month! My hubby will actually be away when I naturally ovulate, so it wouldn't happen this month, but crazy to think about!
@joneser1281 that's great you've noticed overall improvements since your surgery, FX that clearing that up gives you a BFP this cycle. I asked my acupuncturist about giving unused meds to other patients she sees for fertility and she was able to find someone. If you ask around I'm sure you could find someone to help out.
AFM, I am waiting to see when my LH surges, and will then schedule my transfer based on that. I'm getting so impatient, but am happy it's Friday!
What's everyone doing for the weekend? I'm trying to plant some stuff before it get's too hot (how exciting lol )

thanks so much ladies! I am officially PUPO The whole thing was pretty quick but the full bladder stuff is no joke. The nurse was pressing on my belly the whole time and i had to lay down for 30 minutes after but it's all so worth it. The dr said the embryo looked great and had no doubt I'd get pregnant. I wish he weren't so confident because he gets my hopes so high but we'll see. Beta is june 12 but i'll definitely be testing before that.

@Stairbear- I love Paris! Jealous that you had a chance to travel before EFT!
I remember on one of the ivf boards, someone had gotten pregnant with twins the way you've described. She transferred one embryo and was surprised to discover that she was pregnant with fraternal twins. Turns out she had gotten pregnant naturally as well.

AFM... biopsy results are in... I'm out for June FET. not gonna happen. Dr told me I have some cell growth in my uterus they don't really know what it is. They think it's from a previous pregnancy... she was at loss... ahh really didn't expect results like that from the biopsy.
Anyway, plan is to stop prep for FET. And instead take progesterone for a week. Then get my period. And a week later have hyseroscopy and see what's going on in there. She said I could tough it up and do it with only local anesthesia. But I can have full if i prefer.
Then, depending on the results, she will put me on antibiotics in case I did have an infection. And if all looks ok, we could do FET then.
If im lucky I will have FET in July.
Good thing I did the biopsy. I wouldn't have been able to get pregnant with those leftovers. So I'm glad we found out. But right now, all I wanna do is cry. But I'm sitting in front of the computer at work. No one here even knows about all this shit. Ahhh.
So sad right now.

@Prudence9 I'm SO sorry to hear that, but definitely a good thing you did the biopsy and found out now. I totally understand that feeling of being crushed and not wanting/able to share with co-workers. It definitely feels isolating, make sure you enjoy your beverage of choice this weekend and take some well deserved R&R. Good luck going forward. IMHO, I'd take the full anesthesia for your hysteroscopy if they offer it, I was glad to be out for mine as it took about 40 minutes to remove things.
@momma6angels11 I wasn't offered valium for my transfer, so I had nothing. My guess is they offer it to take some edge of the nerves? My RE suggested I have a half full bladder, so that part didn't bother me. I found the procedure to be really simple and didn't mind not having valium.
@brooklyngirl18 congrats on being PUPO! That's great that your doctor was so optimistic! I'm sure he wouldn't say that if he had any doubt.

brooklyngirl18 - YAY!!! Now the dreaded 2WW and symptom spotting! How soon are you going to test? I made it 8 days until the anxiety got the best of me. And I know what you mean about your confident RE, sometimes I like to hear that they think the chances are good but other times I feel like they shouldn't over promise. But it's so hard not to get hopes up! I wish you the stickiest baby dust of all time!
Prudence9 - I'm sorry to hear that. this shit is hard. I've had many days at my computer at work crying in between phone calls without anyone knowing. I hope you catch a break soon, I really do.
AFM, I started bleeding today even though I haven't even stopped bcp yet (today is my last pill before fet) and it's painful. I'm not happy about these painful periods mostly because I had a surgery earlier this year specifically for this reason (endo) and it's proven to not have done any good. And secondly bc I've had them my whole damn life.
Anyway, I promise to have better and more optimistic news soon.
sorry about your painful periods. Very strange you got it without stopping BCP

Thanks @brooklyngirl18 i will find out more about the anesthesia on Monday. It sounds like with a local they will sedate me. So maybe that's fine? Seems like they can schedule that sooner than a surgery in the hospital which is why I'm even considering to hear more about the local anesthesia one.
Plus, my MUA (similar to d&c) was without anesthesia. So maybe I can tough this one too.

@Prudence9 I'm so, so sorry. How disheartening and frustrating. Please try to remember that this is a delay (frustrating as that may be) and not the end (which would be devastating). July is still a possibility, and July is next month. I had surgery in April to remove a huge ovarian cyst, and the delay was frustrating, but before you know it you will be recovered and moving on and prepping for your FET. And I'm glad you're looking into full anesthesia. It's a nap in the middle of the day!
@brooklyngirl18 Congrats! And what confident words from your doctor! Curious about the process, and also if you took Valium.
@Prudence9 I'm so sorry. The same thing happened to me. I've been MIA due to 2 cancelled FETs in April/May and now the May/June after ER at end of March. First was to do some extra bloodwork testing and turns out I needed it . This month the RE did a saline Sono and found a polyp so I had to have a hysterscopy polyp removal and D&C on Wednesday since when they got in there my lining looked ragged and ha small areas near the tubes of extra buildup- not enough to be polyps but still extra junk. The pathology wasn't cancerous though so that's good. A FET wouldn't be successful with a junk lining so while it's a bitch to keep canceling it's good to get it all cleaned out.
After 6 months of Gonal F TI and 1 full stim ER and starting FETs twice with Estrace for 5 days no wonder my lining looked like that of an estrogen dominant person. I've been doing that on purpose lol. My GYN surgeon told my DH in the post op that I should loose some weight to cut down on the estrogen. He doesn't quite know all the history just that my RE refered me so while I know I needed to clear out my lining and could lose 10 pounds that isn't the main issue. So be prepared for that as it kinda is like a stake into my already fragile heart.
Looks like we we will be July FET buddies at least!
@Stairbear thanks. I hope I will be able to have FET in July... it all depends on the hysteroscopy and what they find out...
as for FET, when I had it in January, I took Valium one hour before the procedure. Def helped!

@Ash_SE sorry to hear about your cancelled FETs! Since they are unsure what are the tissues they found, I think I will email my nurse on Monday and ask her if that could be cancer. Because I did have MUA after my m/c. So I should have not have leftover pregnancy tissues there...
anyway, hope we can be July FET buddies. I already posted on that thread

@stairbear Sounds like you had a great trip, glad u enjoyed! I didn't take valium as I wasn't offered it during my fresh transfer it would've been nice if it was offered to me but my clinic doesn't.
@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake sorry ur periods r so painful, didn't realize endo caused that...guess thats why my RE caused thought that might be my issue. Does midol or paprin help? I live on that the first few days of my AF.

Prudence9 - I noticed that out of your 8 frosties, 2 were Day 6...Any idea if any of the 4 normies were from your Day 6 batch? I ask because I believe all 3 of ours are Day 6ers. And wonder if that's a bad thing or if it doesn't really matter genetically speaking?
@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake I was just texting with my doctor (we have been friends for 10 years... I only switched to him last fall after he told me that the number of eggs retrieved in my previous IVF rounds were way too low according to the number of follicles and my estrogen level... and I'm so glad I switched to him, because it hasn't felt awkward at all, and he got more than twice as many eggs in our one IVF round). Anyway, I asked him your question, and he said 6-day blastocysts are just slower growers than 5-day blastocysts, but their potential is equal to that of 5ers, assuming normal chromosomes. (I can't remember if you did PGS.)
As for the woman in the supermarket... that's awful. I can't believe anyone would curse at their child.
@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake actually, ALL my day 6 embryos were normal!!! 2 out of 2. And from my day 5 I had 2 out of 4 normal...

Ok, good luck again to all!
@brooklyngirl18 GL with your transfer today. How exciting!!!

I remember on one of the ivf boards, someone had gotten pregnant with twins the way you've described. She transferred one embryo and was surprised to discover that she was pregnant with fraternal twins. Turns out she had gotten pregnant naturally as well.

@Stairbear that sounds like an amazing trip!!
AFM... biopsy results are in...

@momma6angels11 I wasn't offered valium for my transfer, so I had nothing. My guess is they offer it to take some edge of the nerves? My RE suggested I have a half full bladder, so that part didn't bother me. I found the procedure to be really simple and didn't mind not having valium.

@cashewchicken yay for AF and starting FET prep so exciting.
@Prudence9 I'm so sorry to read your update, that is devastating. I would prefer full anesthesia too if I were too. FX you can still get in for July. I think we've all been there with crying at work but we are all here for you. please take care of yourself.
@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake i'm sorry about the early painful period especially since you had surgery to fix it. do you have your FET date yet?

i will find out more about the anesthesia on Monday.

@brooklyngirl18 Congrats! And what confident words from your doctor! Curious about the process, and also if you took Valium.

Since they are unsure what are the tissues they found, I think I will email my nurse on Monday and ask her if that could be cancer. Because I did have MUA after my m/c. So I should have not have leftover pregnancy tissues there...
anyway, hope we can be July FET buddies. I already posted on that thread
