Re: The "crunchy" thread

  • @mrsmatt1212 I looked at the Faq section on their site and it says that most people don't have any religious issues with it which is usually people's issue with stem cell research from my understanding

  • @SouthernMama15 I believe someone came by my room and asked me if I wanted to donate my placenta after my c section. She said it didn't cost anything but that they did have to draw a little blood from me if I agreed. I said yes but I was super out of it and wasn't quite sure what that even meant lol
  • The brochure says I won't even need a separate blood draw from what I get at admission

My c section wasn't planned last time so maybe that's why. This time I'm doing a repeat c section so maybe it will be different

ETA: Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't remember them actually coming and doing an additional blood draw. Maybe the lady was mistaken...
  • I use wool dryer balls but they create the WORST static. Any tips for reducing it? I've heard adding vinegar to the rinse cycle but that requires me being aware of when the laundry is *about* to be there and stopping it and we all know that's not gonna happen. Also heard of aluminum foil balls but that seems like a fire hazard. Help!
  • I just use nothing. The only time I get static from the dryer is if I wash anything fleece.

  • I also use nothing and rarely have a static problem unless it's something fleece. Occasionally I did put vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser so it would automatically dispense but I didn't notice any difference.  Used to use plastic dryer balls but I really don't think they did anything. Then my dog ate one so I just gave them up.

  • @mrsmatt1212 I use wool dryer balls too. I consider mine to be of decent size and almost always use all six that I have (rarely have small loads). I rarely get static. I've heard static is from low humidity in your home. Maybe try this:

Low temp and use the autodry feature, but set it on a less dry setting so the machine leaves some humidity in the drum at the end of the cycle instead of drying it all completely out. If things are very slightly damp, hang them to finish drying.
