Seriously, LO's naps have been super long the last two days. He went down at 2:30 and he's still asleep (at 10 to 6). I always feel like I should just let him sleep, but I worry about it affecting his night sleep. He slept fine last night even with his epic and close to bed nap, I just over think. I think I'll be making noise to wake him at 6, but I can never decide!
He might be experiencing a growth spurt or leap and needs his rest. I say enjoy the time alone and see where it goes.
We're headed back to the Keys tomorrow and this time I'm driving. We're planning on leaving here at 7pm just in time for M's bedtime. Any suggestions for me? I'm terrified he won't sleep and it's a 6 hour drive..
She's 3 @SandNStarsNJ I think you said and at daycare where she's getting a great head start on education. We push kids so hard and too fast these days. I get where the teachers don't want her to get bored and feel like she could use the push. Sounds like you are keeping her there until kindergarten?
In today's edition of my child makes no sense, he woke up at 10pm last night (went to bed normal time of 7pm), got him back to sleep and then he slept until 6:45 this morning! That hasn't happened in 2 months!! Let's hope it is a new trend
I fell asleep listening to the Beatles and reading threads last night... didn't make it all the way through. I need to go back and reread sleep training and solids because..... it is time.
Now that S is crawling I have to get serious about baby proofing. I've already plugged the electrical sockets but I feel like there is so much more I need to do and don't know where to start. She's already taken a liking to electrical cords. Our entertainment center is very open so she can easily get to them. Same with the cords to our turtle tank. Thinking I will have to check out google and Pinterest for some tips. I just feel too lazy to execute.
Does anyone feel like they still have a super schnoz? I swear I can smell S' diaper from across the room. I can also smell food from across the house that I couldn't smell before. It's not as bad as it was during pregnancy but it's still pretty keyed up. Hormones are weird.
@jsmai I was noticing the same thing the other day. My sense of smell has really been sharp the last few days, more so than normal. I have no idea why it's changed. I haven't changed anything or stopped bfeeding either.
@desoky01 100% yes! S is getting into everything. We literally cannot take our eyes off of her for a second. I'm going to the dollar store tomorrow to see if I can find some type of rubber maid container to put holes in so I can put our power surge strip and feed the electrical cords through. We have tons of cords behind our entertainment center that I have to find a way to keep from her without spending an arm and a leg and it looking completely tacky. Other random cords might just get taped down for now.
Other than the socket plugs and a lock on the cabinet under the kitchen sink I haven't done a whole lot of baby proofing. We just bought this house 9 months ago and the house prior to this one I didn't even get that far. ODD would climb into the cabinet under the kitchen sink.
@camcbeth I already did the plugs also. The only other things I plan to do are take care of the cords and the cabinets with cleaners. I'm not worried about the door knobs or toilets.
I'm lucky the two kitchen cabinets have a lock from previous owner, and the sockets are high up (and have a safety thingy on them) I just need to 'hide' my phone charge when charging as she loves that one. Thinking about lowering her crib too as she's trying so hard to sit by herself and if you hold her when she sits she knows how to stand. So I'm afraid once she figures out how to get in the sitting position she will be able to stand too.
