@mrsrep123 Ollie has had a tough day with wanting to eat a lot. I've given him what we usually give and then maybe 30-60 minutes later he wants more, but I only give a little bit more. Keeps crying when I lay him down, plus I'm pretty sure he's gas-y and really needs to poop but hasn't been able to have a good one. I've definitely tested up a few times today. I hate not knowing what to do to help him. He's 10 days old so now sure it's a growth spurt.
We use the halo sleep sack/swaddle at night and a light muslin blanket during the day. I will loosely wrap under his arms occasionally during the day but not nearly as right as you would a regular swaddle. I think it helps a little bit with the day/night situation.

@mrsrep123, lol at him screaming red rum. When my DS gets really worked up, it sounds like he's screaming "Nooooo." It breaks my heart. His growth spurt was around 4 weeks when he jumped up to 4 oz a feeding. It was really obvious that he was extra hungry.
As far as swaddling, I swear by the sleepsack Halos. I swaddle him sometimes when he's fussy during the day or if I think it's too cold, but I leave his arms out. I also make sure to give him tummy time, and if he's awake and alert, I don't swaddle him. He always has it on at night.

I swaddle at night time with the arms out. With ds1 we swaddled with arms in at nap time and night .It did help him know when it was time to sleep. It became a problem when he would only sleep when swaddled and was too big for the swaddle. Getting him to transition out of the swaddle was a little difficult so I'm trying not to create the habbit this time around.
We started swaddling with the arms out about 3 weeks ago because DD was always getting them out anyway. Like @lrwardrop I'm hoping the swaddle at night helps her to recognize bedtime.
Thanks for the responses ladies! MH did a huge solid and took over DS2 duties while DS1 and I napped for 3 HOURS!!! I came in to relieve him and he looked so defeated.
Yeah, I've just been using the Summer Infant Swaddle Me wrap at night. He already outgrew the SwaddlePod.
@BabyMC517 and @Yiggle09 hang in there, these growth spurts/cluster feedings are tough on our littles and our souls.
@kns1988 Yes, and the shakiness/quivering that gets added in on top Of The cry really breaks me.
@lrwardrop I'm glad you mentioned the habit since DS1 hated to be swaddled. I'm glad we only have been doing it at night. And after the second round of it, he's waking up ready to busy out of it, lol.
@mcvgal are you just using a regular blanket and keeping arms out at night?
@mrsrep123 Right now my LO is also eating pretty much hourly and only lasts about 5 minutes before screaming when laid down. My only relief has been the moby wrap. I wore him a bit this morning and H did this afternoon and during that I got more than an hour between feedings.
@mrsrep123 Or anyone else using a lillebaby. Have you used a lillebaby with a newborn before? I need to do some practice because I just got one and seemed to completely lose the baby in the carrier when I tried. I know they can be used for newborns. If you have used one before did you need to roll up a blanket or something to raise them up? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.
I was just thinking how I need to get my k'tan out! He finally had a BM which was pretty much a poopsplosion! I think he's feeling better and is sleeping in daddy's arms

@Louise_Belcher I was just checking out their website for videos yesterday so I'd get a good idea. In the newborn video, they did have a blanket rolled up in the bottom of the carrier and used the frog position.
@Louise_Belcher and @absbubbs I was reviewing the manual and yes, a rolled up blanket using the wide seat option is recommended for newborns. I'm going to try it out tomorrow. FX...
I'm sorry I suck at the bump now that I'm rarely at a computer. I'm fairly active on the FB group, but only because mobile bumping sucks for me and takes 5xs as long to write a message. Congrats to everyone with new littles!! We have an adorable group of babies!
